    Healthcare professionals who want to switch from clinical to managerial field should have to pursue the MBA in Healthcare Management. Also Healthcare related companies should have to procure them eventually for the next few years. General MBA holders without having any health science background should not be allowed in the healthcare industry anymore in the near future. By implementing this phenomena, general people surely get proper care and support which they deserve around the world. Commercialization, corruption and scams will be eradicated from the health sectors easily.

    I think you didn't cover the whole story. A dentist/doctor/pharmacist in a general MBA course will definitely provide a separate school of thought and experience, but when it comes to placements, a general MBA college doesn't actually invite a lot of healthcare companies. And if they do, they allow almost everyone to sit for the interview, and most of the time they pick someone from an engineering background, as these people have prior experience in technology, and can easily be trained for the new role as compared to healthcare domain people.

      From the expert:
      The primary reason to go for an MBA is to upskill.
      Placements at the end of the course is an outcome of 2 years of focused approach towards gaining 1. Technical skills (through elective courses) and 2. Industry expertise (through internships)
      I was clear about this from the beginning and gained technical skills in data analysis, python, IT project management and R.
      I interned in 3 healthcare companies alongside my MBA to gain industry knowledge.
      At the end of 2 years, I was the top candidate for any of the healthcare companies regardless of the job profile.
      In fact, some of my healthcare peers chose to switch industries and built their expertise in other domains (from ecommerce to fast fashion to FMCG to HR consulting).
      Thats the beauty of a general MBA

    Can I work in healthcare industry after general mba? But then what is the advantage of mba in health care managenemtn over general mba?

    • @odigiocareers
      @odigiocareers  2 місяці тому +1

      Imo, there is no advantage. A healthcare MBA limits you just like your dental degree limits you. A general MBA gives you a wider opportunity and a wide scope of growth as well.

    So what you wanna say MBA in healthcare isn't worth it? So which field should we choose. Like mba healthcare after Bpharma isn't worth it. So which mba specialization would be worth it.

      A conventional MBA. What you do in that as marketing, sales, or operations can be decided in the 2nd year of MBA itself. You don't have to decide it right from now. You need to figure it out once in MBA.
