'Emergency' Fed rate cut by June, only 6 U.S. banks will be left by 2025 paving way for CBDC - Dowd

- Edward Dowd, Founder of Phinance Technologies and former BlackRock fund manager, and Michelle Makori, Editor-in-Chief and Lead Anchor at Kitco News, discuss the Federal Reserve's latest rate hikes, and why Dowd thinks Fed Chair Powell will be "forced" to cut rates by June of 2023, leading to a "controlled implosion" of the banking sector. Dowd forecasts that as banks consolidate, only 6 major banks will be left standing by 2025, paving the way for Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), digital fiat tokens issued and controlled by central banks. This, Dowd claims, could lead to "total government control" and a potentially dystopian future .

In the 90’s I worked for a Wells Fargo bank where the Kiplinger Report was passed around, I remember one article which stated by the year 2020 cash would be obsolete and everything would be digital and personal accounts would be charged fees like business accounts…for every debit and credit. They also said there would be a consolidation to 5 world banks, of which Wells Fargo would be one. Others mentioned at that time were BOA, US BANK and JP Morgan CHASE. At that time 2020 seemed so far away.

Already stashed about $80k in savings then, and the free money from the Government was pouring in, increasing inflation rate. I just got an advisor and kept the money there, just because I didn't want to keep the value of the money depreciating in the bank. Tbh, it's the best investment decision I've made since then.

It took a little longer than I expected to get my coins but got them within about 2 weeks with free shipping. I was going to buy more but price has recently shot up. If we get a pullback in silver I would like to buy some more. Overall I was able to to save several hundred dollars as compared to some local coin dealers in my area. Personally I like the silver rounds that don't have much of a premium and cost just a few dollars over spot price.

Fed Now will be somewhat controlling to force people to pay their bills. They wouldn't be bringing a system like this in if they wanted to let irresponsible people be rewarded. They'd just let it continue on as is. UBI will be very basic and more restrictive than welfare. Just my opinion. Investing in alternative income streams that are independent of the government should be the top priority for everyone right now. especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. Stocks, gold, silver, and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.

He's a smart guy. However I don't buy his '6 banks will be left'. This crisis will escalate to a bond panic. When that happens it's basically game over, as governments have used issuing bonds and upping their debt for bail outs ever since WW2... well the implication of the crisis is they can no longer do that because there is no one to issue it to. When that happens governments can't even role their own existing debts that they never planned to pay off in the first place and default. Governments defaulting is their modus operandi since the dawn of time, at least going back 6000 years ago.

Totally by design!! Yup, at one point there were about 28k banks in the US, in the mid to late 2000's they wrote back then about bringing it down to 8k. We are currently less than 4 k banks in the US. This has been in play for a while.

He is very intelligent, but remember, he does not circulate information that is a benefit to the average citizen. If anything, many of these heads, circulate information with the intent of the average citizen to take action that actually benefits the head of these organizations, not ordinary citizens.

I live in a small central American place, and just in the last month I have watched all of the banks get tied together to limit withdrawals in any 24 hour period. Nobody here voted for that, or even knows it.

@@eugeniebreida1583 ye, American banks. But I am sure that if you had a local bank like BCR then tried to use your card at BAC, another local bank, the same thing would happen. In fact, I would bet the limits would be even more stringent. Not prohibited.

I would argue it was the ultimate common sense or discernment test. Many low IQ people didn't take the bioweapon. Many people with higher than average IQ's did.
