One thing you can change to reduce lag is using a bucket of powdered snow instead of a bucket of water. Works the same way without having to update the flowing water
If you use a lava fire spreader you can also just put the dispenser with it and use piston to turn off the portals but the dispensers can cause lag, and the speed of lava fire spreader depends on how many blocks you cover with observer and signs.
Everyone please remember that different players on various consoles, PCs, tablets and other devices may have a range of performance with each suggested solution. Just go with whatever works for you.

Edit: I made a 1 portal farm in a test world, and here are my findings: it produces 100 ingots + 200 swords per 5 minutes on the fastest speed. It also uses about 15-20 flint and steel in that time. Hope this helps people find the right scale for them.
It's not too tricky to put unbreaking III on your f&s (well it will be slightly more tricky in 1.21 when villagers only go up to unbreaking II) but I'm not sure the speed is that much faster to benefit going from lava to flint and steel
I'm looking forward to when autocrafters get added, then you can have the nuggets and ingots made into blocks, loaded into autocrafted shulker boxes, and stored that way
Loving how this gets you several hundred if not a thousand levels over a 24hour AFK. making this 1st, 2nd your max rate iron farm, 3rd your max rate guardian farm
Awesome design man!! Would love to see an update or part 2 converting the storage to use the crafter and turn the gold from nuggets-ingots-blocks, would increase the amount of gold able to be stored by a tonne. Have to AFK for quite some time for the gold to overflow then, the only problem would be so much rotten flesh. 😅
Same here but for me I made my own and it works pretty well but for the rotten flesh you could either make it go into a dispenser into lava or you could trade with villagers for emeralds

very nice. these types of farms will profit so much from the auto crafting. not only for more compact storage but because of the insane amount of flint and steel needed. I can't wait to upgrade my gold farm with crafters and shulker loaders.
I made the furnaces face the wrong direction, so i just put a path there. this farm is so much better than my other farm, i got 10 blocks of gold in two minutes.
I love how prowl answers to most hate comments and and not suggestions to make the farm better for everyone like autocrafters and a better ignition system
Ok so i found some issues with this farm and figured out how to improve on them, for one the flint and steel to light the portals is way to expensive for anyone using this farm long term and i think two of the portals from the middle should be taken out to make room for lava and trapdoor designs instead of flint and steel you will be left with 6 portals which is still giving you lots of profits and also a WAY cheaper way to light the portals because fueling the dispensers that much for anyone would just be a pain, i hope this helps anyone who reads it❤.
some other comments noted that this solution (lava instead of f&s) results in way slower spawning and smaller output from this farm. do you have the same experience?
i also agree with your findings the fire spread method may be slightly slower but i think its worth it at the cost of not using so much flint and iron. i would have to afk my iron farm for a night just to be able to afk the gold farm for a few hours. 8 portals with flint and steel was also to fast for my realm to handle so 6 portals with fire spread lighting seems perfect. my only issue is that the baby ziglins arent getting killed so if i afk for more than a couple hours my world starts lagging really bad and the farm starts to slow down.
I built it with all 8 portals for my Realm and realized I really needed the Impaling V. I run it on 2 ticks, mostly because it's on a Realm. I haven't tried on 1 tick, but it starts to get some visual glitching on 2 ticks, so I have left it there. It cranks out the piglins, and I can see why you would need all the storage if you are going to AFK at it for very long. I immediately made a stack of golden apples to eat as food to flex on my Realm-mates.
This video is actually useful. The farm is efficient and i can just optimize it on my server to reduce lag and space consumption, what i would like to do is just do ONE of each 4 item filters and completely remove the blast furnace section and make it a trash thing cuz it's a waist of time to get materials for it just for not much of gold nuggets.
I actually was fine with Just one Tridant kill chamber in which i Put 3 Impaling 5 Tridants. Those 3 Tridants we're actually enough to keep Up with the amount of Piglins spawning at 8 Portals and i even think that u would be fine with 10 Portals while only using those 3 Tridants But u can even Go and Put another one inside If needed.I think that the concept of using an Kill Chamber will lower the costs of the Farm and Most people will already have some Type of XP Farm before building this Farm so i think that you might BE able to get Like 4 Impaling 4 Tridants which might BE already enough to kill the Piglins fast enough.
Just built this and wanted to add some things other people might want/need to know. If you build this over an ocean, you will get squid spawns, so make sure you add at least one filter for ink sacks or you will clog the furnace system. Other people suggested powdered snow instead of water buckets in the dispensers, this does reduce lag, you also dont need to add the extra fence gates around the dispensers because snow doesnt flow. And lastly, one full dispenser of flint and steel will last 5 minutes roughly at full speed.
@dariandoyle1053 for destroying the ink sacks? Not really unless you create a non stackable item filter for the smelters. Because the sacks would need to travel over the smelters to get to the lava, or if you put the lava first the swords would end up being burned too.
You could also put non stackable item filters above the furnaces to keep them from getting blocked with overflow trash and burn everything past the end of the furnace line.

My trashbox of a machine is just too old anyway XD) I use a trident killer with one impV trident, and 1 filter for ignots, 3 for nuggets, 1 for z-flesh, and one hopper for the swords into one blastfurnice. The resulting nuggies directed back to the filtering stream to zoom to storage. I also ue powdered snow instead of water. Maybe later I try that way too. Anything slip past the hoppers get to be cremated, but it was not backed up even once yet. Mostly use it for xp, until I start to build an extra fast bartering farm.

I just need to tell you you need to start editing your videos why if you made a mistake we should live it to no brother you could of erase that part its real messed up you could fix that issue
Something is completely wrong with the timing of the dispensers. And yes i saw the correction in the video. With one repeater on the botttom dispenser on one tick and two on top not a single portal lights. Ive tried adjusting it everyway i can but its still not working.
Works fine in ps4,a little bit laggy but works fine,i made the 8 portal with a 3 block gap and put a lava system between them, and yes you really need that much tridents and really need impaling V to the farm work better
All you need on top of this farm is an iron farm with trading hall for flint, and then you get all the free materials to keep going forever (with autocrafters of course) !!
im gonna have a hopper that can be moved beneath the gold ingot storage unit so that when a lever is switched the ingots dump into a dispenser that sends the ingots into a nether portal. they’ll then be picked up by hopper minecarts beneath the portal in the nether and deposited into an automated piglen trader. the items from the trader will then be sent back into the portal via water elevator (the relm im playing on has playable fantasy races the players are assigned to and the one i play as can summon water in the nether. ive also done a similar design that used a dropper elevator to achieve the same effect) excess gold ingots go back into the gold storage, a second set of sorters for the piglan trader goods, and this gold farm can then produce SO much more then gold, xp, and rotten flesh. ill also be building a massive villager trade hall into the storage area to exchange the rotten flesh into emeralds and then bottles of xp.
Man i just wish my tridents would stay in the trident killer and not falling through or disappearing. I had 6 tridents and was using only 2 and i had 4 backups for a raid farm... now i only have 3 remaining
Ok. I have one weird question: can you keep the farm self sustaining, by bartering for iron nuggets, for the flint and steel? Will there be more iron produced or consumed is what I guess I am asking. Thank you, whether or not you figure it out. It is a GREAT farm anyway! Ps. My portal farm in my long term world is in a mushroom island to keep hostile mobs down on my phone, and at 4 portals it still lagged, but not on my new laptop!
i just built this and it works great, but i have a few questions, should i use kelp blocks or bambo blocks for fuel? and how do you change it to light with lava?
Bamboo because kelp wastes a lot of fuel you will not always have 20 items at the ready. If you're on beta/preview use crafters to make planks. Grow bamboo on mud so hoppers can pick it up, direct your central hopper BACK under the pistons into an upwards-facing crafter, above that have a sideways crafter with one slot open, above that observer facing up into the piston. That is literally it, if you use mud just 3 blocks makes bamboo planks To use lava place it on 5 observers clocking themselves with trapdoors IMPORTANT: WITH BLOCKS ABOVE the trapdoors (previous versions required block above the lava or no blocks above, changes from version to version.
Either use a fortune III shovel while mining or in the nether or have a trading hall and bartering farm where a fletcher converts 10 gravel into 10 flint for 1 emerald (4 professions buy flint but as of 1.21 they will not buy only 1 at a time)
Take the gold you get from this farm and feed it into a piglin bartering farm. That's the only gravel farm in the game. Build silentwisperer's bartering farm. It's tiny....takes 30 seconds to build (not counting rounding up the pogmen, but you really only need one).
Prowl, just a question to educate me in Redstone. What is that piston above the obsidian for on the clock? you clearly don't want it to move so would any block not work on that?
Redstone torches on pistons are inverted when the piston is activated. In this case, the redstone block activates the piston. No other block would work because powered blocks such as redstone blocks can't power other full blocks, only activate components like pistons. If you replaced the piston with a different block, the torch would never be inverted, so the clock wouldn't work.
Pistons are unique in bedrock edition that they toggle redstone torches without holding power to adjacent components like dispensers or even dust. Very useful for fitting 2 crossing paths in compact farms. The obsidian is completely superfluous. It doesn't matter if it moves.
The use here is that you can power the redstone torch on one leg of the clock without powering the dust, then vice-versa. Any other block that powers the torch would have kept the dust powered all the time Assuming you used something besides a redstone block that even could activate the torch!
Thanks for the answers lads... Really appreciate it .. I find redstone interesting. Can't wait to have the time to learn how to work with it in a more complex manner.
this video helped a lot I've been designing a 40 portal gold farm why that many? idrk myself. but I've been searching everywhere to optimize the lag as best as possible
For the first question, yes. For the second question, if you build the farm below y=30, you may have some problem, as glow squid spawn below that y level, they're going to interrupt your collection system. Edit: you can't build the farm below y=0 because the mechanic of this gold farm doesn't work below that y level.
I just build this farm and it took ages but it is very worth it but I did encounter a problem with the gold swords, basically there are not enough hoppers to hold the speed of the farm so swords got into my inventory, so I would build a few more of them smelting machines
Just finished building this. With some modifications (shulker box loaders for storage) dam its fast. I had to fix my shulker farm just to have enough storage
I am going to build 512 portals for around 50k gold blocks per hour with the auto crafter, because I want to build a giant gold pyramid that is around 100 by 100 by 100 blocks and then build 19 more from those to build a circle around my base. I don’t know why but it will be funny and cool.
NO NO ITS MUCH FASTER you just have to put observers underneath that keeps getting powered from each other like: 1 facing left and 5 facing right next to it
Holy crap. I used a modified version JC_Playz's farm. It took forever to dig out the space since I put it in my mountain base. I can't imagine how much more it'd take to do this one!

I just need to tell you you need to start editing your videos why if you made a mistake we should live it to no brother you could of erase that part its real messed up you could fix that issue
You are a genius coming up with these farms!! Just imagine what you could come up with using the Create mod.
Its super efficient if you put 2 killing chamber
I first did it with 8 portals, but I expanded it to 16 and double the storage and furnaces
This farm is so good my iron farm is getting crazily bottlenecked by this because of low iron rates 😂
im using all this gold for a bunch of beacons and the flesh is for my villagers/dogs
Something is completely wrong with the timing of the dispensers. And yes i saw the correction in the video. With one repeater on the botttom dispenser on one tick and two on top not a single portal lights. Ive tried adjusting it everyway i can but its still not working.
check how high the portal is it needs to be 22 blocks or it just doesnt light for some reason
Works fine in ps4,a little bit laggy but works fine,i made the 8 portal with a 3 block gap and put a lava system between them, and yes you really need that much tridents and really need impaling V to the farm work better
I saw that it depends on how laggy your device is, for the amount and levels of the tridents.
@@infinite.overclocking yeah,low devices=more tridents
With the 3 block gap is the rates any lower or good ? What are the rates?
@Yeager-cw6ek still the same as the video, A LOT OF PIGLINS!!!
All you need on top of this farm is an iron farm with trading hall for flint, and then you get all the free materials to keep going forever (with autocrafters of course) !!
im gonna have a hopper that can be moved beneath the gold ingot storage unit so that when a lever is switched the ingots dump into a dispenser that sends the ingots into a nether portal. they’ll then be picked up by hopper minecarts beneath the portal in the nether and deposited into an automated piglen trader. the items from the trader will then be sent back into the portal via water elevator (the relm im playing on has playable fantasy races the players are assigned to and the one i play as can summon water in the nether. ive also done a similar design that used a dropper elevator to achieve the same effect) excess gold ingots go back into the gold storage, a second set of sorters for the piglan trader goods, and this gold farm can then produce SO much more then gold, xp, and rotten flesh.
ill also be building a massive villager trade hall into the storage area to exchange the rotten flesh into emeralds and then bottles of xp.
hey bro i just saw this and i love it THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
I want to build it too, but it has to be 0 for y
yeah sadly @@tugbakarsl1917
I don’t recommend building this over an ocean because squids spawn and their ink sacks get stuck in the blast furnaces.
You could do an item sorter or 2 with ink to prevent blockage
how would you recommend building the sorting system now that autocrafters have been added?
Just did it in latest version of bedrock can confirm it works
Man i just wish my tridents would stay in the trident killer and not falling through or disappearing. I had 6 tridents and was using only 2 and i had 4 backups for a raid farm... now i only have 3 remaining
Ok. I have one weird question: can you keep the farm self sustaining, by bartering for iron nuggets, for the flint and steel? Will there be more iron produced or consumed is what I guess I am asking. Thank you, whether or not you figure it out. It is a GREAT farm anyway!
Ps. My portal farm in my long term world is in a mushroom island to keep hostile mobs down on my phone, and at 4 portals it still lagged, but not on my new laptop!
still works on 1.21?
Wow, bigger than my 5 portal
Looks great, I want to make a 10 portal in my next world
Thanks for the gold farm you are really the best and i love how you explain how the farms work keep cooking for up😊
If flint and steel is too much use lava and doors to light the portals
i just built this and it works great, but i have a few questions, should i use kelp blocks or bambo blocks for fuel? and how do you change it to light with lava?
Bamboo because kelp wastes a lot of fuel you will not always have 20 items at the ready. If you're on beta/preview use crafters to make planks. Grow bamboo on mud so hoppers can pick it up, direct your central hopper BACK under the pistons into an upwards-facing crafter, above that have a sideways crafter with one slot open, above that observer facing up into the piston. That is literally it, if you use mud just 3 blocks makes bamboo planks
To use lava place it on 5 observers clocking themselves with trapdoors IMPORTANT: WITH BLOCKS ABOVE the trapdoors (previous versions required block above the lava or no blocks above, changes from version to version.
Could you make a grabel/flint farm to complement this farm?
Either use a fortune III shovel while mining or in the nether or have a trading hall and bartering farm where a fletcher converts 10 gravel into 10 flint for 1 emerald (4 professions buy flint but as of 1.21 they will not buy only 1 at a time)
@@kevinjamesmartin4307 Gravel is a limited resource unlike Lava but it's faster and almost at par with the dispenser speed
@@beastofthehunt check gravity block duper tutorial using drip leaves in nether
Take the gold you get from this farm and feed it into a piglin bartering farm. That's the only gravel farm in the game. Build silentwisperer's bartering farm. It's tiny....takes 30 seconds to build (not counting rounding up the pogmen, but you really only need one).
I just wanted gold for gold apples, now I’m making this😭
A few questions
1 is this good for a Xbox one
2 is water or powdered snow better
3 is flint and steel or lava better
Lava is better but makes the portals lit 24/7 and snow is better for less lag
It’s less laggy then a one portal farm just need thousands of flint and steel
You've got to be kidding me. . I finished building an older, less efficient design just an hour ago. . what a pain..
less efficient doesn't make it useless though - as long as it gets you the gold/XP you need then it's good enough right?
If it’s the one that’s like this but with 4 portals, just make it longer
As soon as you showed the intro I looked for the materials list and went to creative world to test 😭
does it matter which direction the water flows? like does it need to flow in a positive direction?
This farm is insane, but one question, can you build this underground and if so, what dimensions do you recommend for this farm?
Prowl, just a question to educate me in Redstone. What is that piston above the obsidian for on the clock? you clearly don't want it to move so would any block not work on that?
I’m not exactly sure but probably something to do with directing redstone
Any other block that powers the torch would have kept the dust powered all the time
Assuming you used something besides a redstone block that even could activate the torch!
Does finding the chunk corner matter that much?
yes as it to do with how many mobs can spawn in a chunk i believe
First of all, does this still work? And secondly, can I build it underground?
For the first question, yes. For the second question, if you build the farm below y=30, you may have some problem, as glow squid spawn below that y level, they're going to interrupt your collection system.
Edit: you can't build the farm below y=0 because the mechanic of this gold farm doesn't work below that y level.
Thank you, good to know.
Fire charges work if you put a block in front of the despenser
I just build this farm and it took ages but it is very worth it but I did encounter a problem with the gold swords, basically there are not enough hoppers to hold the speed of the farm so swords got into my inventory, so I would build a few more of them smelting machines
am i going to nee d alot of iron to make all this flint and steel, and how quickly does this farm use it up?
You can use lava and trapdoors if you don't want to use flint and steel
is it gonna make it slower tho?@@Scarletthespud
Just finished building this. With some modifications (shulker box loaders for storage) dam its fast. I had to fix my shulker farm just to have enough storage
I am going to build 512 portals for around 50k gold blocks per hour with the auto crafter, because I want to build a giant gold pyramid that is around 100 by 100 by 100 blocks and then build 19 more from those to build a circle around my base. I don’t know why but it will be funny and cool.
i highly doubt you ps5 or xbox can run that
I am on pc @@thepassionofgaming4651
@@mc_lecraft80I don’t think you can load over 200 portals at once due to render distance

Why not use lava to light the portals?
It's way, WAAAY slower. It's a lot cheaper though, so likely better for some people.
NO NO ITS MUCH FASTER you just have to put observers underneath that keeps getting powered from each other like: 1 facing left and 5 facing right next to it
Does it matter what way the piglins fall out into the water?
Yes
can you please make a auto crafter for the flint and steel.
Is there a way I can use lava on this farm to light portals rather than flint and steel
I just made one nvm
@@braydenmarzolf6437how far away were each of your portals?
I tried this but the lava flowed into the other portal as there is a 2 block gap

Holy crap. I used a modified version JC_Playz's farm. It took forever to dig out the space since I put it in my mountain base. I can't imagine how much more it'd take to do this one!
When you build it anywhere do you have to know the chunks are you can leave it or do I need the mod and also I’m on a realm will it lag?
On pc btw
If you put the dispenser above the the obsidian block then the water will not flow
