Have a pár red and blue turquoise and the male is lazy to fertilize the eggs.. can I motivate him somehow? I get even unsure if he is a male but I think so.. the female put eggs very often but the male not going over on them :/

@@sandornyari8205 its is very possible that may be it is not a male, sometimes even 2 females will keep laying eggs together and it would appear that its a male and female, only on close observation you will find out that its actually 2 females laying eggs... so its possible the one you doubting is not a male.
feeding different types of food, high protien food and water changes, cooler water changes are some of the ways to encourage or trigger breeding..
      Hope this helps !

Do you recommend using medications in a periodic way irrespective of whether they have the parasite or not?

Unless u are adding new stuff to ur tank (plants/fish), or feeding live food, something that can risk introducing parasites in the tank, I personally would not choose to medicate periodically…
Just feed them well & keep ur tank clean, should be enough to keep them going strong.

@@ahmedsaquarium8262 thank you, I watched my fishes for any signs today. Everything seems okay but one of the fishes keeps staying angled downwards. Everything else seems alright though. Do you reckon it could be some parasite? Not sideways just a little downwards when still

@@richikkar7363 just keep observing the fish, i currently have one that stays in all weird angles 😅.. just keep an eye on the fish..
u can always do a preventative round if medication just to have peace of mind.. from my experience Gill flukes & internal parasites are 2 common problems in Discus.
