Wilsoni Coral HEAVEN - Western Aquarium Fish Tour

- Опубліковано 18 гру 2019
- Keith Plant from Western Aquarium Fish was kind enough to invite us (cameras and all!) into the Western Aquarium Fish facility shortly (literally hours) after a collection was unpacked.
If you haven't seen the beautiful Western Australian Wilsoni coral yet, you are in for a treat.
There are 2 different types of Wilsoni, a colder water one and a warmer water one. Let's take a look through these beautiful corals and we can walk through the differences in both appearance and care requirements.
If your LFS hasn't got a stock list from Western Aquarium Fish, you know what to do - tell them to get in touch! - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Sam, that’s some serious eye candy there. 👍 they have some beautiful Wilsoni. Thanks for the tour
Thanks for watching :)
Tout est magnifique, BRAVO !!! 👏👏👏
Merci!
I still dont have tons of knowledge about corals but those are beautiful
All takes time, but yes - these are stunning
The coldwater type is the most frustrating coral I've ever owned in almost 15 years of reef keeping. Of course I did not know they came from that cold of temperatures when I got it. It looked great for a few weeks, even started new growth where it was cut, but it bleached shortly after and has continued a slow slow decline. It won't die but still manages to look worse and worse over many months. It's too bad because they certainly are beautiful.
Rainbow is AMAZING !
Sooooo many colours!
Parkers Reef I recently got a true Rainbow Chalice from Taiwan...cant wait for it to grow out.
Wow nice!!
Wow 😁😄
Wow indeed
@@ParkersReef that was a show and a hafe you dont see that hear wow eye candy 😃👊
I am on the hunt for a really nice rainbow specimen for a centerpiece for my aquarium.
there are some absolute stunners out there!
I stumbled upon their instagram today! They seem like the only people that have temperate wilsoni coral care down to a science. I just traded my sump for a cold water wilso that was in bad shape, I wish I could pick Keith's mind to learn more about how he handles these guys.
Shoot him a message on Facebook mate, I can promise he’ll reply - but there is a fair chance he will
@@ParkersReef Worth a shot. I could use all of the insight I can get. Thanks a lot for this video, it's very helpful for many of us scratching our heads on how to take care of temperate wilsonis. There are a lot of threads about this at the moment on various sites, namely r2r.
Reef2Reef is great, best forum about these days.
Keith is a good guy and loves Wilsoni corals - so I’d say he’d be happy to chat :)
Parkers Reef touched base with Keith, thanks for the recommendation. My wilso now has a few hundred brown spots and is coloring up. Trading my sump for this white guy wasn’t in vain. Definitely dropped a sub for this, thanks for making this video.
Wow😲😲😲😲😲😲
Nice huh!
@@ParkersReef nice is a under statement. They are the best corals i have ever seen. Does he ship to your door? I would imagine there not cheap😉😉
I’m sure he can put you in touch with a retailer if he can’t ship direct.
You’d be surprised, these were ridiculously cheap. Even the nicest rainbow in that whole tub was only $350!
Beautiful, but do they thrive long term?
They certainly can
So the one in the beginning of the video is cold or warm?
They were cold, but have been acclimated up to warm
Wonder if he’d ship to the US. We don’t seem to have many stateside
I believe they will via distributors in the states
Hi what is the growth rate like on these, and are they easy to look after, thanks (wilsoni)
They can vary, but for an LPS coral I find they grow quickly! Care is easy too, just gotta watch temperature swings
@@ParkersReef Thanks, know to find one, lol
They can be though to get hold of!
Too bad a lot of these cold water pieces are shipped elsewhere by unscrupulous people and sold to folks with no warning. I’m not saying these guys do that though.
Certainly not from these guys :)
Keith complains about the same thing. This guy knows cold water wilsos better than anyone else. I wish someone would interview him on how to properly care for these guys.
