Thanks for the great video. I love Axis, which has its US HQ a few miles from my home in Marin County, California, and I’ve been on an ART 999 for the whole last season. I just ordered the 1201, only to find out that their first batch sold out in 2 hours (!). I’m hoping to get it in hand within the next few weeks and am happy to share impressions.

@@wingfoil_mallorca I wing mostly at Crissy Field, which has pretty consistent, clean 14-20kt wind, not too choppy water, wake from boat traffic and waves at Ft Point under the Golden Gate Bridge. I was interested in the 1201 mostly for lighter conditions and hopefully to take prone foiling to the next level. We’ll see!
Sound nice. I’ve seen some vids from riding by the bridge and it looks great. Good spot but water’s a bit fresh maybe? But to have a spot with 14-20knots that is pretty constant is a really great place. Good for you! 💪💪

Thank you! Yes, we have just heard about the new series and they have just dropped the 1201. But I am also looking forward to the smaller and faster foils, they could be something spectacular! The ART foils are fast, and the new ones even faster...oh my. THe skinnies will be a great addition to all our foil! Where do you ride?

those new foils are the most conventional foils you could imagine. it almost looks like all the previous foils an the market were just for looks
We will see how they run, if it is like Axis claims then they are hot stuff. No matter what they look like. Every detail in the design has great impact in water as we know. So small details matter a lot. Look out for my video with my impressions of the first rides with the 1201.
If it flies like the existing ART range (in choppy / disturbed water) then it will be another line of foils that doesn't see my wallet open - I'll stay with my trusty HPS foils. I'll keep an open mind to it but I bought into the original ART line only to discover it is ill suited to the waters I sail in.
Oh, that's a shame you didn't like it. The ART line are such awesome foils. They are always my fisrt choice. We have very varying conditions here in Mallorca, but they work great for us, you just have to have a few to pair with the current conditions. I ride the PNG 1300, HPS 1050, ART 1099, 999,899 depending the weather. What are the conditions where you ride?

@@wingfoil_mallorca Where are ride is the Solent in the South of the UK. This water can have several knots of current as well as being very choppy either side of high tide and in certain wind directions. I had an ART 999 but it was an absolute nightmare to ride in these conditions, just all over the place even on a high modulus carbon mast. It's the wide span and just picking up too much lift from the chop, makes it like riding a roller coaster. The HPS foils cope with it far better, they cut through the chop rather than riding up and over it. You can getaway with it on the smaller ART foils like the 899 and below but anything bigger is not nice to ride in these conditions.
Ok, i get it. You have some tough waters where you ride. Well, you did what you could and adapted to the conditions. Way to go! 🤛👏👏
@@ashleydavis614 I have had a similar experience in choppy conditions on the 999, but for me it has many other redeeming features that have me reach for it over the HPS830 quite often when the water is more consistent. As always, thanks Fredric for the videos.
So you don't think there will be a bigger art pro wing that has 1500cm?
Well, if you look at the competition. Some already have them big ones on the market. I predicted the release of a bigger foil like 1400 or so in my earlier video about Axis gear. So, yes, I think a bigger one will com later this year. Next up for Axis is to release the hyper fast ARTPRO series foils that are all smaller than the 1201. Then we could see that big foil hit the market. It would be great for heavy riders but mainly for the riders that do SUP foil downwind sessions on those new long and thin boards.
@@wingfoil_mallorca yes all makes sense, the 1300 is my favorite foil for pumping, would be cool to see a 1251 or something since there is nothing 1500cm that is like the 1300.
I know Axis has more on its rooster for release this year. 😃
