I have the same coffee maker as yours and it's been sitting in our cabinet for years(we don't use coffee makers, its gifted) and searching for UA-cam for some advice, so thankful to see this video
+James Grainger Plenty of people in the UK have them. But the UK is more a nation of tea drinkers so filter coffee machines are way less common than in the US. They are becoming more popular though. In almost every supermarket you can buy a decent one for £20-£30.
This way is great for making masses of standard coffee that you can have throughout the day especially for lots of people but not for cappuccino or espresso which I would consider the perfect cup of coffee. To each their own though.
I'm Italian and I just buy my first filter coffe machine that it's not like yours but I think that my question is ok for all type of these machines. So, my question is: do you have to fill water exactly for the cups you need or you can fill all the reservoir aand then the machine will use the amount of water required for 4 cups (for example)? And also, if you just made coffe but its not enough for every guest, you have to wait to refill the water until the machine let cool or you can start immediatly?
The machine will run all of the water that you put into it through the filter. If you only want three cups of coffee, then only put three cups of water in the machine. Just remember that when you put more water in the machine, you have to also put more coffee grounds in the filter. The water, filter and coffee grounds have to replaced with each use and you don't need to wait for the machine to cool to start brewing the next pot, just replace the water, filter and coffee grounds before brewing each pot.
Great video. Just one point: paper filters remove all the flavoursome/velvety oils! I'm definitely no connoisseur, but even I can taste the difference between paper filter and mesh provided on most modern, budget coffee machines. Mesh taste so much better, and it's cheaper (if a little more cleaning effort)
Dude, you need to clean that carafe with vinegar to get that nasty residue off. Only takes a few minutes!! And clean that coffeemaker while you're at it also.
Didn’t want to clean the coffee maker before the video? Just a suggestion, but if you want to make the “perfect” cup of coffee you should clean your coffee maker (you can’t expect to have a good cup when your maker is filthy) change to a better brand of coffee like LavAzza or koffee kult, use a burr grinder instead of a blade grinder and use filtered water instead of tap. I use a drip a majority of the time because of time restraints but honestly the best coffee is made using pour over. If there’s one thing to take from this it should be you need to clean your coffee pot and the machine, and I don’t mean just dripping water through it. A thorough cleaning.
What I want to know is when you come back 5 hours later how do you get it hot again? Do you press a button and it reheats the whole thing? or do you make a cup again. Need help moving from instant boring coffee
If you leave the machine on after it’s brewing, it will warm the pot for about 2 hours before automatically turning off. It’s easier to just pour it into a thermos to keep it warm.
@@aaronying4989 It sitting on the hot plate burns it, even after 30 minutes....it's gross...I just make a fresh pot.. but, I'm the only coffee drinker, so I use the smaller coffee pot with 5 cup maker and I just recently got an espresso machine, so I do the double shot Latte on ice, sooo good!!
@@savedbyJESUS777 i didn’t realize letting it sit on the warmer will make it gross!! Lol. Yea I try not to do that anymore. It’s better to remove it. And wow that latte machine sounds really good!! It would be fun to make at home. But I never used one before.
I have a coffee maker but the problem is when I put large amounts of coffee and I come 1 hour later it would get cold .. How can save the heat or I have to put one cup every time ? I hope what I’m saying is clear .. Thanks
Hi thanks really I still struggle to get the right combination if I use the pot and measure to 7 how much the coffee I should use I prefer numbers by spons if any one can help plz thanks
I was wondering the same thing. Jeez! Anyone who's ever read "The Mote In God's Eye" would tell you the MOST important element in making great coffee is to use CLEAN EQUIPMENT!!! Residual oils from the coffee will make a genuine stank brew unfit for consumption by the diseased offspring of unwashed carrion eaters. And those who don't keep their equipment clean are licentious practitioners of completely Arkansas-inbred purveyors of moral turpitude. Calling such absent-minded people heathens or pagan twatwaffles is too kind by half.
CoyoteTa81 No shit he needs to know where to buy a brush and soap for his Goddamn purchasing Pleasure . What a fruit and he’s married . Hopefully she will leave him before she gets pregnant with his seed . I know that’s not a nice thing to say but who makes a video like that . The coffee machine they make today are terrible. I have never had a good cup of coffee from Starbucks . My mother in law makes a great cup of coffee using instant coffee . Her secret is she pours the hot water at the same time she pours milk or cream and the hot water does something to the cream and her coffee is the best . Starbucks doesn’t have a chance to her method .
Clean that carafe with some salt, lemons and ice water and get that coffeemaker cleaned out with vinegar! Yikes! If I make the standard 12 cup carafe, I use 6 heaping tablespoons of coffee. So, the amount of coffee is always half to the amount of water in the carafe. I keep my coffeemaker pristine, I get a lot of compliments on how I make coffee, so now I clean everyone's lol. I like strong, dark roast, I can't stand weak coffee, tastes like hot water with cream.
You should always use filtered water . Tap water leave Calcium and lime deposits in the Machine and fucks the machine up later . I bet if you examine the inside all the parts and hoses are getting clogged with shit .
I already know how to make a cuppa coffee I was actually making one and you weren’t talking anymore because I wanted one and I was just being generous and giving you view wasso
Really , u really trust the tap water we’re u are?? Haha. Dude just get a Brita, or get water at the water depot. This is not a perfect cup coffee , the water part I mean.
Your disgusting pot is distracting. Maybe wash it once in a while. CLEARLY you have very hard water might I recommend a water softener for your house. Make a HUGE difference in the taste of that coffee..........
Had to watch it again. The amount of coffee you put in your filter would grow whiskers on the elbows of 12 year old boys. Or put muscles in the whiskers of a grown man. Either way, drinking coffee that strong would cause my toenails to swell up, crack and burst. 1.5 tablespoons per cup of water is plenty to get a good rich and mellow flavor. And after trying several varieties of Starbuck's from my local grocer, I wouldn't spray that brew up the anus of my neighbor's evil boar hog if its very bowels were on fire. While I'll admit that calling that Folger's or Maxwell House stuff "coffee" is a gross superstition, one can buy the medium roast offered by none other than Dunkin' Donuts for far less than Starbuck's, Seattle's Best, etc. and get a damn fine cup of coffee sure to be approved by Clint Eastwood playing the out-of-retirement engineer/wannabe astronaut in "Space Cowboys."
Jeez some harsh comments, poor guy, he's so nice. I thought the video pretty straight to the point.

Cool tip: Try running water through the filter and letting the excess water drain then put in the grinds! It'll help get rid of a papery taste

I Love this item. Works wonderfully and is a true space saver. Easy to use and clean.
Finally found a video
Simple and easy …. THANK YOU!!!!!
I don't think U ever said how much coffee to water for 7 cups of coffee. How many beans go into the machine for 7 cups of water???
its so weird how everyone in the US seems to have those coffee makers but ive literally never seen them in the UK before
