With a French Press, you can also make cold brew. Exactly same process, but you need to wait 18 to 24h. Then you have to dilute the coffee with water or milk, because it is kind of thick.
For somebody who never used a French press, it would have been nice to explain how to "bloom" the grounds for 30 seconds before you pour in the rest of the water. That way you get the crema.
@@JaneDoe-vi5yc "Bloom" means an extra step in the extraction process. Lets say you have your ground beans in the press, and a pot of hot water. You simply add a small amount of hot water to the beans, just barely covering the beans, and the water foams up on the beans and makes a nice froth. You let that sit like that for a minute or so. Then you pour in the rest of your water, and give it all a QUICK stir. Do not stir too much, or you will knock down all the froth. Let that all sit for 4 mins or so, then pour it into your cup GENTLY so you can preserve the froth. The froth is delicious. Thank me later.😁

A "pour over" is better, and only a few seconds of clean up. The way I do it: I have two extra large mugs. I fill one 3/4 full of hot water. Two minutes in microwave and its boiling. Add a heaping tablespoon of grounds, stir come back a couple minutes later stir. Then put the "pour over" screen cone on empty mug which I do in sink in case any spills, let it run threw takes about 30 seconds. Rinse both strainer and 1st mug another 30 seconds. Then I add a bit of sugar, fill up mug the rest of way with hot tap water. The whole process including cleaning takes around 4 minutes. Same if not better quality as French press.

Using a French press for the first time hehe this was so helpful ☃️
I didn't know making coffee was such a long process. Now i know why mom keeps buying instant coffee powders haha
This video is great! I wonder what is the name of the song used in the video?
Hello does anyone want to answer it’s been a week since no one answered my question
"It's all in the grind."
Thank you. Just moved into a place that only has this and I made a mess. Not what you want first thing in the morning.
I did it right, just a bad unit.
Thanks for the demo
1:31 creepy, awkwardly disturbing whisper combined that with the overly perfect posture. Thanks for the coffee recipe, I need it I have insomnia.
yeah what the fuck was this
"My telephone" 😛 at least that's what I hear.
Me with my percolator. Already on my second cup as this video finishes
A percolator is a predator for coffee cause it boils the coffee taste to death.
Perked coffee is the best
Thank you! My husband usually makes coffee for me. I feel so empowered lol.
That’s the ASMR I was waiting for 😍
Whoaaaa. I just used mine for the first time and did it opposite of what you did. I add the coffee above the strainer section
Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia after bartering with the "gypsies" for a french press inspired me to get my own....by crackie I'll never drink coffee any other way!
I have been using my colleague’s french press in the office for 3 years.. I lost my job because of Covid, now I don’t know how to use one anymore. 2 years later, I got a new job and I bought one that’s for sale. Now I’m here. Lol
Who else got a French press for Christmas and have no idea how to use it?
That's exactly why I'm here 😌
what size was the french press you used? is that a single cup french press or two cups? i only want to get a single cup french press and am looking for the exact measurement. THANK YOU!
3-cup Aerolatte French Press www.frenchpresscoffee.com/products/french-press-coffee-maker-cafetiere-by-aerolatte.
Enjoy your coffee.
00:43 what is the temperature? You say wait 30-45 seconds but if I use a thermometer what is the correct temperature please?
Thanks! The instruction booklet was so confusing, i put my coffee at the top lol!
It seems so weak and see-through. Ill probably up the grounds! Fabulous, simple and short tutorial!
I didnt get the part of the water, when he mix it on a cup
beautiful!! can`t wait to make mine in the morning=) love french press!
Do you have to use a certain coffee type or is any type ok? Can I also just buy already ground coffee instead of doing it myself?
i’m wondering the same thing
I was going to try already ground coffee too. I know it won't be as fresh but I'm coming from instant and want to skip a step.
Ty never seen one in use . Bought one because of positive reviews. Ty ❤❤❤I too had no instructions. Thank god for your video and UA-cam ❤❤❤
You are so welcome!
@@Frenchpresscoffeelove it’s a daily ritual now ! Way less acid in my coffee. I’m hooked !
Question- is it necessary to warm up the carafe? Is that just so the glass doesn’t crack when adding the hot water?
Great question. Not it's not necessary. But it will help to make Temp consistent plus coffee will stay hot longer. In French Press usually tempered glass so it will not crack from temp difference
I was thinking of using this method, but after this video I'm going to stick to overpaying for kcups
As a former long time Keurig user.... hell no!!! This is worth the effort... look at different FP videos.... this guy’s into chemistry
I just bought a refillable K cup and buy the coffee I like. So much easier than this mess
Bought mine recently and only used it but forgot what to do so I had to watch this.
I love that this looks like chemistry class 😍 I really want coffee right now.
I just got my French press thank you for the short video🤙🏽
i can see is too much water for that coffee
Yea, I thought the same thing. Looked like some weak ass coffee
I'm American. And it's still weak ass coffee
Shouldnt the ratio be around 12? This one is around 14.75 if i got it correct, so way too much water
I use 13 grams of dark roast coffee beans for one 8 ounce cup. I drink my coffee black. It tastes perfect....for me anyway.
@@allenmiller2071 Well not all of us hate ourselves to that extent. This comment is a joke btw I'm not at all serious. People like what they like so, you do you.
Well done video and clear instructions!
Wait, what was the other water he measured out? I've litterally never done that. I just boil the water and pour the water right on top of the measured grounds into the press.
He preheated the pitcher
