Nice work Jon , I received a report back on a trout I tagged towards Delacroix it was caught days later in the big slip you were fishing in , ( TagLouisiana ) last week it amazes me how much trout will travel in a couple of weeks
Mirrodine MR27 is a current mega-rave bait here in Texas these days, and I have an excellent guide-friend who says pink is an only coldwater color in his view. Texas chicken, even on a jerkbait has worked well for me.
I've been hitting the pink and electric chicken patterns hard for the last month and getting good responses. Cool to hear the guide's opinion on pink. It was working well today.
@@JonMillerFishing i went both today and yesterday, covered lots of water of different depth. Only caught 3 trout on artificial lure. Maybe they are just not biting after cold front. Hope it gets better next week.
Conductance probe or hydrometer. First one is very sensitive and value can be converted to salinity, but the hydrometer is cheap, fast to use, and good enough to get an approximate salinity value.
thanks JON.
love your patience and perseverance on some marginal days.
John

Saw several dolphins in Rigolets last week (12-22-23) and salinity was 9ppt.
it's hard to catch them recently
Yes, they seem to be moving great distances from week to week.

How d you determine the salinity?
