I’ve observed that mk3 Ford Escort is also another one you barely see. A friend of mine who lives in Uk, told me the Seat Malaga has gone completely extinct, as well as the 80s Honda CRX.
Great looking car. I remember them in Ireland and they were sold alongside Lada cars. They weren’t around for very long. I owned a 1988 Mitsubishi Lancer estate and the interior was almost identical. The Lancer was brilliant and was so reliable.
Only 201 specially produced for UK sales. And these is the only ONE that survived aye. Hats off to the lads for taking a superb cared. Also to creator of the video. Love, you are awesome.
There is a movie for TV in Malaysia showing the memory and the affection of Malaysian towards Proton Saga , from the perspective of a guy who grew up in the 80s and saw how his dad love that car. You can search for the title 'Kereta Kita' ('Our Car') . Quite nice movie actually.

proton black knight never die
Omg, *THE LAST OF ITS KIND.* Such a sad thing to observe no other is left. In automotive world, that kinda like erases the history of that car.
Hiiiii thx for reviewing this legendary classic ( in malaysia at least) something different at last, bravo!
Only 201 specially produced for UK sales. And these is the only ONE that survived aye. Hats off to the lads for taking a superb cared. Also to creator of the video. Love, you are awesome.
thank you
Black Knight are a gem, so cool
There is a movie for TV in Malaysia showing the memory and the affection of Malaysian towards Proton Saga , from the perspective of a guy who grew up in the 80s and saw how his dad love that car. You can search for the title 'Kereta Kita' ('Our Car') . Quite nice movie actually.
Ada tak kat netflix
Greeting from Malaysia.... Proud of this car.
This is amazing!...
Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thnk you so much For mention Our Proton saga!
What a fantastic car and how exciting to be the only one left! Great video Steph, really enjoyed this and looking forward to the follow up next week!
This is an awesome video!!! 👍👍👍
Proton built the Citroen AX with their own minor styling changes, and called it the Proton Tiara.
But it was a much maligned in Malaysia. It was a very capable little motorcar.
@@najmanzainuddin8223 Only because Malaysians don't know how to handle Continental cars.
Today every other car on the road here are Honda and Toyota. Boring!
@@tiadaid dont know how to handle continental cars? u mean cant afford it.
@@bubaks2 more of doesn't able to adapt to the difference in control, maintenance details, expensive parts for wear and tear components, and that damn 3 lugs rim which during that time in Malaysia, no one has the replacement rim or wheel for those. Malaysian in general doesn't like the maintenance queen kind of car because majority of them are having lower income job so having something which a little bit more expensive will get a backlash or negative review instantly. That's one of the reasons why Proton Tiara failed in Malaysian market.
It has the Citroën steering wheel, that is great how Mitsubishi carried that over frim Citroën
We barely have many Mitsubishi cars remaining on the road in U.S..It would have been nice having this car available here.Being 1.5 liters im sure it has excellent gas mileage.Great seating and perfect for city commuting. It looks attractive and also its very practical.I cant believe the condition this car is in for maybe 35 yrs old or more.I love 80's cars! They were lighter and generally required less gas than economy cars of today.Great job Malaysia!
Fuel economy is decent but the tank is quite small.
The first car of many in my generation in Malaysia =)
Really interesting it was sold in Crewe, my grandparents used to live on Wistaston road in Crewe and my grandad was big into his Lada’s and Protons. He had a good relationship with that dealer and was a regular customer for them so I’d loved to have known if he was offered this exact car! (Wouldn’t expect him to remember some 30 odd years on though lol)
That's very interesting!
80's century Proton Saga car you still look very good condition....salute you. BTW, currently Malaysia have X70 n X50
1:36 Don't apologize because even I didn't know it stood for that and I'm Malaysian. Lol
Great video!
It's nice to see this car still survive with you guys weather
You see, you just summoned my whole country here
I from Malaysia ..my dad still use this car ..
My late father's first car. There are so many memories back then😥
woww...thank you your respect my country car..malaysian 80s car.....from Malaysia...
I owned a proton 1.5 litre and it never let me down much underrated because it was not fashionable it had a Old peoples car image
Love watch this video , I'm Malaysian Big tumb up to the content creator . Love it XXX
Terima kasih Ms. I have one just like this as my family car, although it's sitting in a workshop for now. Can't wait for when I'm able to drive it again (manual transmission, with the only modified thing in it is the power steering wheel which made me feel like I'm racing as I drove it). & my old friend told me he called his own his Tank, & I agree wholeheartedly. My Aeroback Saga is my Tank :)
All the love from Malaysia.
You know, after seeing videos like this, I started to appreciate older cars more, especially Proton Saga. I'm a college student and I don't have enough money to buy one yet but I definitely want to buy this car for a start if I have money and maybe a little bit of customization to my liking (because you know, Saga and its customizations still exists today in Malaysia). Thanks for the informative video. Keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
me as malaysian feel proud with this,,thx for awesome vid..
Thanks Steph! What a nice car. I like that kind of dashboard over what we have now. Also, the slide controls for HVAC are great, as they work easier than the rotary type, but so too you can tell where they are at a glance.
Im from malaysia. Wowww this car a look nice. Tq for support😀❤💘
Greeting form Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. I know these cars are very rare in the U.K. Both the car are in immaculate condition. Watching this video is time travel for me and to find cars in this condition in Malaysia is virtually impossible. The Malaysian climate is the number one cause. The sunroof is the biggest wow for me. We didn’t have sunroof for the Malaysian market.
I'm Singaporean, and bought my wife the Perodua Kenari manual (yes I'm cheap...hehe) having fun driving it on weekends as it feels so raw like back in the oldies....
