The voice memo tip is one that everyone should use! how often one had a wonderful melody or a drums or drop idea in the head and when you’re back home and start to make music you can not recognize it anymore…
Same with memos! 😂 unless you make it more obvious. Also you gotta have discipline to actually do these ideas, I've got like 500 voice memos that are untouched 🤣
It helps but definitely a lot of the time I have ideas that just dont translate well to voice, especially one as untrained as mine, and I come back to them later and think "what the hell was i trying to sing/hum"
The contrast between the banging reference track and the soothing narrative instruction had me dying. "and here we're gonna add this reversed reverb and it sounds like this.. [BAWAWAWAWA]" 😂😂 Fr though, this is extremely helpful. Thank you
5:25 Peter check this: switch from the simpler to sampler. Then choose an Interpolation to best. Just check the results of pitching the sample. I think you will be surprised
Your channel is one of the best thigs that happened to me this year. I've been trying to get into making music for 10 years. Long story short, a lot of shit happened I just been started to make music again in the last couple of months. I came across your channel recently and makes me so enthusiastic about music again 🖤 Also, you are a very talented artist. I love all the music, the sound, and the melodies you feature in your videos. Keep making all these great stuff! love ya!
Great video man. Supurb tips, #4 memo is a great one. I do this with lyris as I free style vocals on live takes... and speech to text saves me sooo much time and allows for faster writing. Melody samples are a great way to do the same for sure 👊🧡👍
Fun fact: Martin O'Donnell sang some of the vocals in Halo himself, the ones that go like HEEYOO HOO YAAA or something on that one track. Iirc he was kinda embarrassed about it at the time, but it sounds so damn natural in the final mix. I still don't have a mic and I really should get one, cause here's another thing, it doesn't have to be amazing quality if you're not delivering crisp lead vocals. Hell, some bad mics have some character! Especially if you're going for certain raw sounds. Also, resynthesis! How fun is it to just come up with an elaborate neuro bassline and INSTANTLY get the general idea out, if not surprise yourself with how cool the resynthesis makes it with some tweaks. You can also just growl a bunch and pick and choose how you move through the wave, or at least chop stuff out and arrange, I just got Harmor again last week and saw Savant do this, I gotta try.
Random question on an old upload but fuck it idc, are you classically trained at all or have you just gone with your ear and trusted that? Either way your sense of space and sound selection is always on point, thanks in advance g 👌🏻
thanks my g, I've been going with my ear most of the time. I've not gone to any schools, my only teachers are on youtube :D it's a lot of time spent experimenting and trying to find what works, so that now it is a bit easier, but still looking for good combinations of sounds
Great video bro! can u upload some start-to-finish tracks again? I always watch your videos and some of my works came from your idea BUT I am not copying them, I'm just using your useful tips on how to be a better producer. Thank you!
really amazing techniques and video editing!! any tips on how to get that good on editing videos? you using after effects or premiere...? ( : Thanks a lot, love your content as usual!
Hey, don't be like that. There are some nice people among them too! Check out Di Young. Yeah, I know that his channel is for English-speaking audience but... Don't underestimate people because of their nation.
@@vovancho I was talking in a good way. I'm from Russia, and we simply don't have such content. In Russia, we always say to watch videos of Western bloggers, as they are very informative
