We have seen NBA-level athleticism at UK for the last decade...it is obviously not the right recipe, at least under Cal and I stress that point as I've never thought much of his X's and O's in-game coaching, that wins Conf and Natty Championships. Was one of the few that didn't like his initial hire.
It's not that obvious, he hung four banners and only struggled during the covid supersenior era. You're gonna see some Kentucky regret once that nonsense is over.
@@doctordistracto8390 Yeah not going to happen. Cal deserves his one-standing O when he first comes back. One of those banners is his. But the good people of Arkansas are going to find out, you will have fun, but you will win but when it COUNTS you will soon discover he will consistently be outcoached. BTW, no regret from me, I didn't want him hired in the first place. Also, Im one that thinks UK should have gone ahead and got Donovan...now pretty sure that'll never happen.

I’m UK all day but honestly absolutely nobody has a clue what each team has or how far they can go. Both got some really good talent and imo both are really good coaches. I’m excited for Louisville to be relevant again and excited for Louisville fans because they’ve got through some complete garbage for several years now. I think it will be a good matchup. Having said that I hope we beat the brakes off of them birds!✌🏼
The talent level is much closer to even. It will come down to how the teams gel and coaching. Both UK and Louisville have shooters. Louisville probably has the better team speed but down low UK has more size. UK’s talent is diminished as Cal took most of the Nike bag money with him to Arkansas. I think both teams will do well.
@@MrJigger1960 in a who is more likely scenario. 1 has to be higher than the other. That’s why UK is +4500 and UL is +8000 to win the title next year on FanDuel as of right now.
I give the edge to Louisville... Their roster is constructed for the offense that Pat Kelcey wants to run... He also has the athleticism and positional height for the pack line defense... Pope is going to have to adjust his coaching philosophy based on who is in the game and who is hot... Does he play Garrison and Williams at the same time? If so how do you accomplish a 5 out or even 4 out 1 in offensive strategy... Point guard for Kentucky is my biggest question mark... Can Kriisa or Butler get this offense running? I look at the other sideline and I'm 100 percent confident that Chucky Hepburn is the right fit at running Louisville's offense and they have Reyne Smith and Kobe Rodgers (rs) who have previous experience with Pat Kelcey...
No they won’t play Garrison and Williams together for the most part. They have Carr and Ansley both great shooters at 4 for college. Pat Kelcey has gone and got good fit but so has pope with better players. Brea the best shooter last year, butler who is DPOY for conf plus hit game winner in final four. I don’t think it’s particularly close UL vs UK, plus UK will get Chaz or Robinson
I don't see where Kentucky got the better players? Both have even rosters. On3 has Louisville has #1 transfer portal class and Kentucky at #40. Kentucky went from have 5star players to being excited to get a guy from Dayton who averaged 11 points a game in the Atlantic 10. And might I had if not for the big man at Dayton eating up the middle with his 18 points a game Brea would not of had so many open looks
@@mikehawk4940I think the reason why Kentuckys class is at 40 is cause they account for players leaving. If u ignore what they lose and strictly look at players coming in then UK is better
Kentucky will be top 10 in offense and top 30 in defense so idk how you can say Louisville is better but i can say Louisville is a pretty good team and could easily be top 5 in the ACC this year
Kentucky is going to be better than Louisville at all 5 positions but on the other hand Louisville may be a Top 5 ACC. Lately the SEC as a conference has gotten better from top to bottom than the ACC. The ACC has gotten a bit more top heavy. I say that both teams be 32-2 going into the NCAA tournament but Kentucky gets the top overall seed because Kentucky will have the better resume. I could see the 1 seeds being Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, and UConn. That is how great of rosters that they put together and no one else has the brains to see that Kentucky, Louisville, and Arkansas have championship worthy rosters and put them in these preseason top 25 polls.
I’m big blue all day that Louisville team is night and day since they got pat Kenny Payne killed that team but I think uk will win that match go big blue
As a Louisville fan, I gotta give UK the edge for the better roster, but both these teams will have similar rosters with them DOMINATING the transfer portal. I LOVE this Louisville team, and WATCH, this is going to be a COMPETIVE game at Rupp
The last time the game was competitive was when Chris Mack was coaching Louisville. 3 Louisville at 19 Kentucky. 78-70 in OT. Kentucky was the winner. Since then Kentucky has dominated the game. It was at the point where you could ink Kentucky as the winner and KFC Yum Center became the Rupp Arena away from Rupp Arena. Hopefully Louisville gets competitive again and the game gets more exciting again.
@@sambostic8715 true but still, Kentucky had the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation and was loaded with talent. This isn't even a debate lol Louisville got a cpl of Charleston guys, cpl of BYU guys Kentucky didn't prioritize, Sahvir Wheelers backup from Washington, Edwards and Pryor are good, Hadley and Hepburn are good role guys.
