I think it mentions Hawaii because melon bars first arrived in the US, or more specifically, first Hawaii, in the 90's, so I think they tailored the flavor to Hawaiians. In other asian countries they have different flavors too, like in southeast asia they make purple yam flavored melon bars. But yeah, they sold the melon bars you were eating at our costco here in California, too. I hope they come back because I'm craving them in this hot weather.
I am half Korean and when I lived there we always had these. These bars were so popular. Now I live in cape breton which is on the other side of the earth in a small island in Nova Scotia, I was at Walmart and in the freezer I saw a ton of these. Bought a bunch so I’m stocked for weeks but it only lasts a day
I discovered these 3 months ago... I destroy these, they're even better than Outshine pops. Now they're out of stock in South Florida... This is making me crave them even more. I need some... NEED.
Its probably their strategy, put just enough out for you to try and fall in love...then pull them off the shelf for months, hoping you stock up on 5 boxes once they are back. :)
