    In this video, Dennis Foley tackles the common issue of room corners in acoustic treatment, aptly named "The Corner Store." Dennis explains the misconceptions about placing low-frequency treatment in corners and emphasizes the importance of understanding the physics behind acoustic problems. Learn why treating the entire wall is more effective than focusing on corners alone. Dennis also introduces powerful solutions like the ACDA series and carbon panels for comprehensive pressure management. Discover how to optimize your room's acoustics by addressing both low and high-frequency issues correctly.

    I'm curious, have you experimented with aerogels yet as a fill material for diaphragmatic cabinets? Fragile stuff, but its heat insulation performance has been shown to be incredible. I wonder how well that might translate into acoustic management applications.

      The internal cabinet fill material in diaphragmatic absorption does not work on thermal conductivity. The perforated absorber inside the DA is a pressure based technology.

    Amen Dennis!
    I still don't understand why some speakers are designed to work in the corners...

    What's ironic is, while I'm watching this video, in my youtube suggestions is a video with a thumbnail photo of a big room with a HUGE panel of some sort in both front corners.

      Explain the irony to us.

      @@AcousticFields The irony is that youtube would suggest a bass trap crap video ("The best broadband bass trap to deal with all frequencies") to me when I've liked a lot of your videos - none of which are bass trap crap. AI is often pretty dumb. The title of that suggested video alone is enough to make you roll your eyes.

      @@dashcammer4322 What have you learned about unwanted pressures within rooms and their locations?

      @@AcousticFields That you can treat the corners, but it should occur because you're treating the whole wall (or floor or ceiling). Or all 3. It depends on the dimensions of the room. That's one thing.

      @@dashcammer4322 Not true. We have found that treating around 40 - 50% of each wall surface area will minimize pressure across the whole wall surface area

    Seems simple enough. Big wall = big pressure.

    • @AcousticFields
      @AcousticFields  19 днів тому

      The pressure is based upon the dimensions between the wall surfaces.
