Thank you to all in this great Facebook group for all your contributions.
I was born in Handsworth in 1949; we moved overseas in the 1960's but I remember so much of the 1950's when I used to catch the tram with my Grandma, and the old cream and blue Sheffield buses look familiar. I'm sending this to my brother. Thankyou for sharing.
I was born in 1935 so I recognize the 1950 city photos. Thank you for showing them.
Glad you enjoyed the video

Great photo's. 'Veras' hot food van, which was parked on waste land between Pitsmoor road and Chatham street was known as 'Greasy veras'..It was open all hours, you could get a very greasy bacon butty and a very weak cup of tea at 2AM if you wanted. Me and my mate used to go to it often in the middle of the night. The tea was bloody awful, in a polystyrene cup with a plastic lid but it warmed you up.. if only for a few minutes. Great memories. Thanks for doing these video's.
I’ve never heard of it, but then again I lived at the other side of the City.
Thankyou so much , without you these photos would be lost , so lovely 😊
So nice of you
Lovely video, thank you.
thanks, Ian, glad you like it.
The pic "A very busy broad st" is that not Hyde Park Flats under construction making the pic around 1960, they were completed in 1961
It is the Hyde Park flats Nigel.
1:16 idk I am no expert but that harpers stores does not look like a 1904 store
Again, excellent images. Still don't think the music is appropriate.
What kind of music would be appropriate David?
