I have one of these coming in a couple days. Same basic needs as you. I EDC a Warrior3 and it is almost perfect, but the EC35g2 having USB-C charging (even if it doesnt support C-to-C) and powerbank functions without really losing any features of my Warrior (maybe build quality, but not off the mark by much) really have me thinking this might be my new EDC.
Of note, unlike o-light, this uses a standard 18650, so you can use their, or community preferred Vapcell, 18650 with built in USB-C on the cell itself. Those are designed to function as c-to-c powerbanks.
I will have to test if the ec35g2 can run c-to-c as a powerbank or if I am stuck with carrying the proprietary cord (thankfully they made it short, and maybe I could solder a 90degree A-to-C adaptor into the charger output side). I dont think it can use c-to-c because only has the most basic USB-C circuitry and cant 'talk' to the source/receiver (a huge advantage of USB-C). I think they dropped the ball on that one feature, but if my O-Light pocket clip fits, or i can find a double-clip, I really dont have any solid complaints from what I have researched on this thing and may FINALLY make the swap.

Nice video! I love the feature set that this flashlight has. 1100 lumens and 8100 candela is already amazing but I wish there was a brighter version or a 21700 version to compete with the Thrunite BSS V4/ TT20 but both don't double as a power bank. The only thing that bothers me is the delay that sometimes occur when using the tail switch but other than that, it's my favorite EDC flashlight. There also an SST-20 emitter version from Killzone Flashlights for people who prefer a high CRI and lower temp so that's pretty cool.
What pocket clip is that? I have the Armytek Wizard Pro but there's a small protrusion that hits and scratches my light. However, it provides a nice little ramp so my pocket doesn't get caught at the base of the clip.

I actually purchased this light through killzone. I nearly went for the SST-20 version but saw some threads on Reddit saying it would flicker on moonlight mode. I went the safe route and went with the original Samsung LH351D. With this emitter everything seems to work as intended.
The powerbank feature really put it over the top for me. Having something that has multiple uses is a huge benefit. Hopefully I never need it but it is awesome knowing it is there. I looked a lot at Nightcore, Fenix, Olight, etc. I think the thrunights had the next closest option for me. Olight was also close but they have been using proprietary batteries and I didn’t want that.
Funny story. This is actually the same clip. I also noticed it scratching the light so I removed the little ramp. I wish I had simply bent it enough so it wouldn’t scratch but it still works fine with minimal hang ups on my pockets. I did have to smooth it out with a rotary tool because it was pretty sharp after removal.
Let me know if there are other questions I can answer/make another vid on. Thanks!

@@Old83 For me, I prefer total output but I've never heard about those issues. The power bank is so useful so I don't have to install a USB charger for my bike if I need to use my phone in a pinch. I was going to do the same thing with the clip but just couldn't find a way to get my tool in the right spot and the light was already scratched lol. I also tried bending it with no luck. Need a torch or something to get the clip hotter.

@@ctng37 Yeah, I had to use some pretty beefy needle nose pliers to get in there and even then it took some doing. I was gonna try and bend it slowly but I snapped it clean off. I guess I am lucky I didn’t do any other damage to the clip. But for $5ish it is well worth it to upgrade to the deep pocket carry. The only thing that would make the clip better would be to add a reversible feature.

Is that the Armytek Wizard Pro Clip that you threw on it? I love this light but the pocket clip isn't deep enough for my liking

Yes! The deep carry clip made a huge difference in how the light carries for me. Highly recommend. The armytek is around 5$ on killzone (coupon code in description) so it was a cheap no brainer for me. You will need to bend a small part of the clip so it doesn’t scratch the acebeam, but that is an easy fix.

Someone on a flashlight forum suggested this as my first big light. And I think I'm gonna buy one. I only have one question. Through my knowledge and experience with e cigs, people always recommend that you charge 18650 batteries with a dedicated charger, instead of the charging circuitry on the device. Would this apply to flashlights too?

      @Old83  3 роки тому

Good question. I have heard that can be a good idea but don't have any personal experience with it. I just charge it through the device circuitry and it has been going strong for 6+ months now.
Either way I love this light and definitely recommend it.

I also recently got a coupon code for Killzoneflashlights.com. I bought mine through them and liked them so much I later became an affiliate. My code is Old83 if you are interested!

@@Old83 well hot damn, that's exactly the website I was thinking about ordering from. Thank you for the code! But I have one more question, which led option should I go with. I prefer a cooler, almost stark white to a warm, yellowish white.

No problem. I put all my links, etc in the description!
The version I have is the Samsung and this is the emitter it was designed for.
I have read a lot of good things about the SST-20 emitter (which killzone also sells) and it is apparently better as far as color goes (cooler/whiter). My only thing was I read that it miiiight flicker a bit when on moonlight mode. That’s why I went with the Samsung, but it depends on what you want. A lot of people have the SST-20 and love it.
