Cornell is like a small business plan turned into an empire with the resume of wrestlers that came through there.
Vito’s dad during the interview was so touching. This guy was an Olympian wrestler but says the happiest he’s ever been in his life is watching his son win a National Title. That’s what really matters. I can make a million dollars but if I can be there when my kid lives out their dream that’s way more important to me.
Vito won a world title which might might have been the new happiest day of his life.
Congrats to everyone on the team and staff. Yianni getting his 4th, Vito taking out RBY and Fix, and a whole new crop of young guns ready to make their legacy for the Big Red. I’ve always said there’s something special going on at Cornell. They may not have the volume of champions, but if someone’s going to take out a seemingly unstoppable Penn State stud you can bet that guy wrestles for Cornell. Total technicians and class acts. Congrats again guys!

Why would ANY wrestler go to a school that has never won a national championship?!?! With just a handful of exceptions - Dake, Diakomihalis, Auble, Lee and Arujau Cornell has ZILCH! If you wrestle and you don't think you would be able to start at Penn, Oklahoma or Iowa - THEN you go to a non-rated wrestling program. If you dream of becoming a national champion you go to a WRESTLING school! WOW!
Sorry, I don't think Yanni is a prophet. Cornell is not going to win it all next year. Good team for sure, but with all the talent Penn State is adding via the transfer portal and incoming recruits, even Iowa won't be in sniffing distance of a National Title.

Iowa and Penn State are automatic 1st and 2nd like every year so third as a team is best any other team can get in the current era so ya pretty high achievement

@OwenFinn-nb2kw what the F@ck you doing clown. No support or watching 3rd place teams that hope to get to Penn State level. I know Gabe needed it to win a championship. Look who Klye Dake joined NLWC. He knew Cornell could only get you so far
Cornell will simply NEVER be a wrestling school! If a driven individual goes to Cornell they may accel. A genuine championship team from Cornell will never happen. Guys go to Cornell when they're afraid they won't get to start at a real wrestling school. Kyle Dake, Vito Arujau and Yianni Diakomihalis would have won at any school but probably would have been even better under a Penn State, Oklahoma or Iowa training program with much better wrestling partners to train with.
