    Hikaru always pufs at the end..like he is dissapointed and tired of playing weaker players..he knew it was a draw and offered it but the man continued and hikaru was like:dude cmon this is a drawn position you cannot win against me

      gareyev knows it's a draw too of course... it's just the momentum of the game and gareyev knew he had a big advantage and spoiled it so he played on a few more moves

      @@ajr1791ze well I definitely say i does. First people use to just play too much bullet, which makes you lazy to make deeper calculations setting your brain to "auto mode", and second, I am pretty sure it can affect 3d perception, which clearly will also affect your move decisions.

      He didnt. He hold it and u can move it however u want untill u let it.
      It didnt come with a check or anything else. Untill I am missing something, than sorry :D

    wasn't there a way to win this endgame by forcing the opposing king to block its own pawn, then slowly moving up your own king until checkmate? i didn't check this specific position in the engine, just remember reading that somewhere.

      A C F H pawn is a draw, because there are stalemate resource.
      B D E G are winning. In this case it was a C pawn, so a draw

    at 11:30, the Black can move Qg6 instead Qg7, white King have to move Kf8 , and black move Ke5

    Svidler lost at the background. Actually I didn't see any game of Svidler, Grishuk and Karyakin. It seems that besides retired Kramnik all other russian stars weren't too good in this tournament. Maybe they should retire too to start play well. )))

      Никакого выигрыша нет. Король не встаёт на пути пешки, а идёт в угол на А8, и нельзя брать пешку из-за пата. Финальная позиция - элементарная ничья.

      The key is with a white king on b8 after Qb6+ white plays Ka8! and if Qxc7 it is stalemate. For this reason black cannot force the white king to c8

      They gain a little bit every time they finish their turn. It seems to differ how much time they get/any at all depending on the tournament.

      The game is retransmitted and the way to indicate the result is placing both kings in the center.
      Both kings in white squares= white won. Both kings in black squares= black won. Each king un a different coulour square= draw

      No and also c6 is not winning either. there are perpetuals everywhere and sometimes white can actually take the pawn on g6 with his queen and go to an equal pawn endgame.

      @@xemmlgxxemo.o9038 te estás confundiendo, dependiendo de en qué columna del tablero ese final es tablas o no, y en este caso es tablas (y muy fácilmente como lo ha explicado melv douc), puedes consultarlo con las tablas de Nalimov o en UA-cam imagino que también habrá vídeos explicando este final si aún y todo no me crees

      I think the point is that white would queen if given the chance, but black cannot prevent this and also advance his king to help win the pawn; if given check at b6, Ka8 prevents the pawns capture since white's king would be stalemated. Peace. No other progress can be made.

      If he takes c7 the king will be on a8 and he will promote, also, he cant win a tempo to move his king closer, check out John Nunn's book, he gives this example

      Yes, this is basic chess so you should know that is a famous draw endgame, there is a stalemate that avoids the usual black's way to progress.
