Really amazing. When watching the game I thought h4 at two points was an easy draw, because black can't take and has to let the other guy have a passed pawn of his own which makes it almost impossible to use the own bishop later on.
First thing white does after the game is point at h4. I love moments like this.

We have to be realistic. Firoujza is not even in the top 10 for Classical Chess. He is an online sensation and obviously has a talent for speed chess to be sure, but to be throwing around the idea of him being a future world champion is a little unrealistic at this point.

He is a strong player, but he is not that young anymore. He has been playing much blitz and bullet. When you get older, you may not get better, but worse in those time controls. Classical chess is a different thing. We will see how he will improve there. I think he may be the best online player in few years, but classical is tougher. Top 5 maybe, but being the world champion is really hard to tell. I would guess that more likely he will never be the world champion. I hope he keeps improving though.

Wang Hao had two chances in a ROW to play h4 at around 15:19 which is such a logical move for counterplay and he had 1min30sec on the clock!! More than enough time for such a strong player like him.
And then after the game he mentions h4 at 17:47, I'm so confused...you knew it and still didn't stop to think about it. Not sure if these super GMs are tired of so many games or it's the Alireza effect sort of like the Magnus effect lol

Losing an opposite-color bishop ending with equal pawns says very little about your opponent.

Nerves of steel, this kid. By now most chess players and fans know about his ridiculous calculation speed and innate chess sense, but he really proved his mettle in this tournament. Not easy, to perform as he did, with all the adversity he's gone/going through recently. He's the real deal.

Wan Hao spent one full minute after Bxb7 c5 and didn't play h4,
unbelievable. This format produces games of such a low quality, players
are just too tired and stressed to think rationally.
