Live Bait Didn't Work, Found the Honey Hole Trolling

- Fishing for California Halibut in the Pacific Ocean. We found anchovies leaving the harbor but the drift was to slow using them for bait. We decided to troll to cover more ground and find the halibut. Once we did it was quick limits.

You can still catch them pretty good in SF bay espcially if you target the good tides. yeah didnt film much this summer. Wasnt the plan, just how it ended up. Did lots of stuff with my family. Yes, ready for tuna as well!

I thought you could only fish one rod per person for halibut
California halibut have no rod restrictions. SF bay has 1 rod restriction. Pacific halibut have a 1 rod restriction.
The Albacore are 11 miles off Humboldt and this week's weather looks good gomango

How far above the bottom do u usually troll.i do the drift but haven't done the troll yet
Probably jack smelt or mackerel stealing the chovies. It sucks when you have live bait and nothing is happening then you switch to trolling. But sometimes you got to change it up and it’s great when that pays off. Another thing to do if there isn’t much of a drift is to stay with the live bait and use your teolling motor.
