The ULTIMATE Troopy Build Walkthrough - Total Cost FINALLY Revealed
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 лип 2024
- G'day Legends!
The forbidden question has finally been answered and its time to give a full rig rundown, as well as answer the question you have all been asking.
How much is the Sandy Track build worth?
This is a the start of a little series that I want to do. Prior to posting on UA-cam, I did a little research on how hard it is to start, grow and eventually monetise a UA-cam account and how long it would take to make $1000 in revenue.
I couldn't find much out there to give me a straight forward answer, so I thought I would take the dive into it myself and start a little series to document and share the process.
Enjoy!
LITTLE DISCLAIMER: Prices on some of the big ticket items on the walkthrough have included the cost of interstate shipping.
Enjoyed the editing style, especially at the start. Good rundown, straight to the point, very honest. One of the best 78's I have seen. Another video with what does and doesn't work/ what you like or don't/ what you feel is good or bad value would be interesting. Enjoy the lap.
Hi mate, thanks for your feedback and I’m glad you like it. Will definitely do a video maybe 6 to 12 months down the track and give my honest opinion on all the products used and how well they held up over the year.
I would be keen for that too
Got my follow for the honesty and zero fucks given for what you want. Well done mate
Cheers, legend
Good to see the positive vibes in the chat. As others have said, appreciate the honesty. Hope you have a great time, enjoy the 78, and the channel goes well!
Awesome, thank you for watching
Sick video, sick editing, you will do well my brother. Good luck
Thanks mate I’m glad you like it
I clicked for the thumbnail... I don't care what's in the video.
The setup is sick.
this is the most powerful car in the world 😍 if there is an apocalypse, then this is exactly the car everyone should have , I’m originally from the Pamir ( Tajikistan) , we need this car here, you’ll just be shocked by the wild nature and big mountains we have here
Had the same issue with the upright fridges. Just felt the bushman 85L couldn’t hold as much food as a good old fashioned chest fridge. I only ever managed to get 5 days max out of it. Yeah, stuff can get smooshed in the chest fridge but can easy get 8 days out of a similar size fridge /freezer. Back to the chest fridge for me.
And good luck with UA-cam man!
Yeah I definitely wouldn’t thought the fridge at all because honestly it’s amazing. And as mentioned in the video it suits my build an interior fit out the best as I needed that workspace up top which I wouldn’t have had with a chest freezer fridge. Definitely wouldn’t look back I guess it’s just one of those things that I have to deal with
Enjoy brother, great to see honesty for once and I know you worked for it all 👊👊👍👍 Look forward to more videos to come 👊
Beautiful Troopy. Looking forward to seeing it in use!
Great video, awesome to see your honesty and full transparency. Eager to see where the 78 takes you, and as a fellow local to perth cool to see you utilise Perth companies as well. Keen to see what your future has in store, I’ll be backing you the whole way.
Thanks so much mate! Yeah I was definitely keen to use in Perth brands and support local
It’s a really nice built and a good inspiration for my future 78 with I decided to travel the world. Not easy to have one in Italy but I will figure it out 😅 have fun
Thank you mate looking forward to seeing yours when the Build starts
Awesome video, love your style. Will be adopting a few of your ideas (what I can afford!), especially the sound deadening and console up front. I know where to go now! I'm in Perth too and it seems like there are good services here for the Troopy!
+1 for a Vhedia replacement head unit
Mint build but yeah 13k on the electrical install is pretty mental
Was absolutely ridiculous. I was quoted 8k also, which I thought was ridiculous alone
That is one gorgeous Troopy.
Haha thank you!
love the build, why don't you like the maxis razr? i am considering them for my own troopy.
I built a stretched and portal'd sandy 79 with a custom tray and canopy. And yup, the price just keeps going up and up lol. You can upgrade just about everything.
I saved a lot by doing all the interior and electrical work my self though.
The only thing I wish I could do in it was sleep in it, so would love to do a troopy next. Would pretty much be the same build as yours, you have great taste.
I did look into the portal conversions. Maybe for the next build or even Rear coils would be nice.
@@SandyTracksOfficial I would always go portals over coils. It just drives so much better, you have the factory gear ratios, proper transfer case handbrake, wider track. Gen 2 portals will have oiled wheel bearings and rumoured to have central tyre inflation as well
Epic build mate, and great vid. Keep it up, you’ll crush it 🤙
Thank you so much and I hope so
Great start - troops looks incredible ❤
Enjoy the troopy mate alot worse things you could be spending your money on and enjoy your trip around aus was the best thing i ever did 😁
Refreshingly honest run down....thank you.
What are you doing for a water system and shower tent?
Just subscribed. Looking forward to seeing your travels. Safe travels mate.
No worries mate I’m glad you liked it.
For a hot water system, we have Duoletto and did not worry about a shower tent.
Embracing the nudity all the way around Australia 😂
@@SandyTracksOfficial 🤣🤣
still about a fifth of the cost of an apartment in Sydney, but twice as good. well done.
beautiful build, a dream of mine oneday
Thank you and good luck. Hope you get yours one day
That's a mobile house right there, both in cost and function. It definitely looks the biz.
House deposit on wheels
chase dream boy hope you enjoy your life by living in your own way, keep going, doing the things you want to do right now rather than until retiring or getting older or getting "rich enough".
I'm very interested in following your journey. I'm so jealous 😁
13k on electrical! Looks like the big fella didn’t wanna get paid with exposure
Amazing vehicle
Table and awning on the wrong side for windy beach conditions. Great build
@@markb7769 I’m super confused by this comment haha. But glad you like to build.
I don’t understand this comment?
Great vid mate, take it the boats getting a rundown aswell? Did you think of doing portal axels? If so why didn’t you?
I can definitely do a Boat run down for sure!
I did look into work and price of them were pretty expensive . Even the fact that you need massive flares to suit and the flares were about $3000 alone.
Maybe for the next field 😮
Copy, keen to see ya enjoy it!
Bro! literally the dream setup. Bloody well done! Can i ask the other forbidden question...what do you do to afford this!? Im a perth boy also
Worked my ass off for a few years haha.
@@SandyTracksOfficial Fair play haha. Nah legit epic mate ill be following
2023 Troopy = $200,000
Ego = Priceless
Interesting
Hello mate, quick question in regards to the superior engineering, what is your GVM as they told me they can’t do GVM upgrade for the troopy 😢
interested in that black trim around your gutters?? fucking epic build!!!
@@joff2730 cheers mate! This trim was carbon fibre wrap tape off Temu :)
Your kidding! It's a clean touch I reckon I'll do the same 😅 hope to see ya on the road!! Yeeww
Awesome build you’ll have to tell me how you got the rhino back bone to work was planning on doing it to mine and wasn’t sure it would work
Thanks mate yeah no problems at all. Send me a message on Instagram and I’ll be happy to talk you through it
Hi Mate. I am looking to install a rhino rack backbone to my 78 with headspace roof. But I don’t know which backbone system is suitable, did you do some modifications . Thank you.
Nah not at all, you just have to order the right size rack that’s all
@@SandyTracksOfficial what is your back bone length mate. Because headspace camper roof rail is flat. is the Prado 150 backbone suit headspace roof rail? Appreciate it
@@sammona5592 I’m not to sure to be honest mate. I can find out. Can you send me a message on Instagram?
What kind of mudflaps in front you have?
@@kingdingeling3975 just normal ones. With pinch weld around them
@@SandyTracksOfficial the original mud guards are too narrow considering the flare and tires you used. How did you solve this? Wider flaps on original holder?
What type of bumper replacement did you put on it?
This is from off-road creative
It is a nice troppy compare to my old 75 series, but Jezz that's a lot of money. Still looks sweet.
May I ask, what camera do you use to film?
I use a Sony A7iii. I would say the quality is all in the lenses though, not the camera
@@SandyTracksOfficial thanks mate for the advice and all the best on your journey!!
200k and still digging a hole to take a shit.
How did a young fella like you get to spend such an amount on a car? Good on you, but that's a shed load of $$ to sink into a car!
Maybe I should do a video on how I have afforded it 😂
@@SandyTracksOfficial I reckon that'd be interesting.
Much money for nothing
Money for nothing? I don’t think so. To me, it’s a house on wheels they can take me anywhere and live out my dreams in.
Not everybody wants to spend their money on a house and be locked into a mortgage for the next 30 years.
It is a lot of money, yes. But I’m leaving the way I want to live and completely debt free.
Absolutely beautiful build, I am doing one right now, also V8 but it has the new front. Really keen to see your other videos as you go
Ridiculous comment, it is a tiny house on wheels that will go anywhere he wants!
What U won lotto 🎉
