Don’t know what he’s saying regarding Duran Duran not having a fanbase. They’ve been playing to thousands of ppl a night for 20 years since their reunion. Way bigger than any 80’s metal band except the Stadium tour which required two (or three) of the biggest names of the era to draw big numbers. But DD draws thousands every night all over the world.

Electra records should have released Fight To Survive album. Out of the four studio albums it is my favorite. White Lion is one band that I would have definitely gone to see live if they ever reunited, but it doesn't look like they ever will. I was a little kid in the 80's, and by the time I was a teenager, they had already broken up. If Mike Tramp ever came near where I live, I would definitely go to his show. One of the most unique singing voices ever in my opinion. Excellent interview!

I believe Vito's injury to be quite true, years ago I also snapped something in my wrist and had the same symptons as to what he described as electric shocks when playing certain things on guitar and haven't heard anyone else ever describing it in that way, I had seen a doctor about it and it is carpal tunnel syndrome, was told it needs lots of rest as it is an inflammation of the wrist, surgery can potentially cause more damage from what I was told , as a result I only record whenever I can and haven't been able to play in bands for years, some days are better than others but to play in a band you have to be fairly consistent which wouldn't be fair to a band, so he's done the right thing.

  • @capnrob97

I read somewhere years ago that Vitto said he couldn't play like he used to anymore. I don't know if because of the hand injury our just lack of playing over the years, but I doubt he would be ripping solos like he used to back in the day if he came out of retirement.

  • @schlotdoglaser

Vito really left his mark. He propably would have made great career post white lion had he wanted that.

  • @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS

I have respect for Mike for how far he went on just work ethic alone, (plus looks I guess) Every SINGLE word Mike says in this interview was planned out. Notice how he doesn’t mention Van Halen when speaking about the great bands in 1984? Nobody was bigger than VH in 1984. White Lion was trying to be an exact copy. Even the Wait video reminds you of the Jump video. He also said every band was following the “blond lead singer and dark haired band” formula that MOTLEY CRUE started 😂. Search for the story when Mike Tramp was a liaison for Van Halen in 80 or 81. His band was called “Studs” when DLR told him everything he needed to do to be successful in America. You got to hand it to Tramp, he was an unstoppable force that knew what he wanted. The best thing to come out of White Lion musically was Vito.

I remember going to see Ozzy's band and thinking ' I wonder if his latest axeman is as good as all the hype is saying ' . I didn't expect the opening band to have a guitar player who I found more interesting than Ozzy's but that is exactly what happened
My drunken idiot friend had mentioned something about it to me before the show but he kept calling the guy
' Corleone ' 😆 All the way to the arena it was
" Hey check out that Corleone dude that plays Little Fighter ! "
