I’m really buckling down and trying to declutter my home right now. I’ve done declutters of books, clothes, homewares, etc. in the past but my house is still chaotic and messy a lot of the time, and there are areas that I never seem to make it to. I just started what might be my toughest project yet: going through my basement studio that’s packed with art and craft supplies. I’m a multimedia artist, so I see potential in everything, and I have a lifelong case of “but what if I need it later?!” But tbh once I got through the initial fear of tackling the art stuff as a category, it actually hasn’t been so bad. It’s honestly kind of satisfying to go through everything and weed out the stuff I’m not that excited about. It’s definitely a process, you don’t develop a new way of looking at your stuff overnight, but the areas I have cleaned out are sooo much nicer to be in, and I know that once I’m done, it’s going to be a huge weight off my shoulders. Also I have nieces and nephews and teacher friends who I can give my old art supplies to, and knowing where it’s going makes me feel good. :)
Ahhh I know that feeling - the potential for something in the future. I sometimes put stuff I may possibly use in a bag under my bed... if I don't have an inkling to get it out after 6 months or a year, I get rid of it!
Love this, it is so important for so many’s people - I would say even for people that says it doesn’t matter to them what their environment looks like. Because they will feel better once it’s done. Thanks for sharing. New subbie❤
I spent 21.5 years in the Coast Guard, moving every 2 - 4 years. It always provided an opportunity to purge unneeded stuff. My last move was 9 years ago. The intervening time has allowed a lot of crap to accumulate. I'm going through the process of purging again, and I'll be moving in a few days. It really is nice to get rid of all the stuff that's been weighing my down. Both material and not material. Great vid, keep up the good work. 😀
I am so proud of you 🫶🏼
Thank you I’m going to make a list I would like to see more

I agree! Nobody feels worse after they clean house and organize everything...
Glad to have you :)
