Brother... 3 years ago my heart was shattered into a thousand pieces. I was hollow, void of life, and sad to depths I couldn’t believe possible... ... and through the grace of God, I discovered your song - through a Hyundai commercial of all things - and traced it back to the original version (here). Music has been the one thing that can always pull pure emotions from me after my tour to Afghanistan. I used to always think i just liked a song. Now I know that I gravitate towards music that elicits emotion. From classical to punk. I now find myself in a constant search of that sound that makes me feel.

I love the amount of feeling and emotion that's been put into this song. For me the "One day baby we'll be old ..... Think of all the stories we could have told" is him clinging onto the remnants of a dead relationship with the hope that one day they can grow old together and have life stories to tell the grand-kids.
Wow!. These lyrics, the melody,! Asaf Avidan, you follow your passion, your true calling. I am here in Canada & your songs help me to bring up past, unhealed hurts, wounds. You assist in this true connection to who I AM. Bless you for your love of you & your calling. You are a gift to this planet. Please keep on your path and your journey. I didn't know about him until December 2016. Amazing voice! He should be more recognized. Specially he's from Israel, right? it makes him more special. Good work.
Boah. Diese Version noch nie gehört . War zuerst erschrocken über seine Stimme . Aber dann ...... Wahnsinn . Das macht ihm so schnell keiner nach . Ganz ober in meiner Favoriten Liste. Danke.
The normal version of this song always brings tear to my eye 😢 thinking about various memories but this version floods of tears 😭 . Such an amazingly beautiful song ❤.
Love this guy's work. Such a unique voice and interpretation. Absolutely loved The Reckoning album. But I'm bummed it was pulled from Spotify, however. And that the album is not even available as purchasable streaming media through iTunes or Amazon. I don't know the insides of the music industry but streaming media is the way to go. I wish everyone was all caught up with the program. Because UA-cam videos definitely don't cut it as music playlists. I just want beautiful sound. Great quality sound, to run in the background. Not video. #asafavidan #streamingmusic #spotify
And yes, someone already suggested I order a CD. My take on that, however, is I rather be eco-friendly. I live a minimalist lifestyle and prefer to travel lightly. I can't afford piling up my belongings with physical copies of media such as CDs. It would make a lot more sense, from a musician's perspective, to distribute their music through online streaming sources. It's certainly cheaper. And it's part of this world's new forward thinking lifestyle, which I actually embrace, because it causes less physical waste in the world (speaking about the materials involved with CD production).
Sweet! Asaf responded to my concern about The Reckoning album no longer being available on Spotify and iTunes in the US. He said he'd check the problem. And that in the meantime, a digital copy of the album is also available on his site: asafavidanmusic.com
23 here, I've never ever been able to choose a "favourite" song among all the ones that I love and sing every day. Until I caught myself singing this the other day, after a few years without even thinking of the song. Now I know. The power this song holds is incredible.
Actually to me it's the imperfection of his voice that makes his singing so great. It brings through the heartbreak like no perfect pitch could, you know?
I'm very sorry for you! You have a very poor mind. That is very sad. Hope you soon feel better. Unfortunately I believe this isn't going to happen since you insult people you don't even know.
I’m so happy you have grown globally I went to see you in coral gables in Miami almost 10 years ago you had a small crown now you got millions of views! Keep staying humble and true to yourself 💯🤟🙏🏼
"One day baby, we'll be old Oh baby, we'll be old And think of all the stories that we could have told..." I can't stop singing this, it's hypnotic. it is ... amazing
@Asaf.Avidan thank you for interest in your fan!🤗 and to give us so much beautifulls emotions in your songs.
It's easy to imagine this song and its lyrics resonating with a lot of people. Many comments here quote the line "rich men can't imagine poor" which of course can be paraphrased by "you don't know the worth of something until it's gone". I also want to point out the line "we never think it through" because for one reason or another, people say or do things (or don't do things although they better did) that have consequences - maybe not immediately, but someday - which they didn't expect and can't change, because they can't be undone. Naturally, life goes on, and you have to make the best of the situation you or fate or whatever got you in. But now and then, I think most people find themselves in these moments this song is about: what if I acted differently in this situation, what stories could WE have told? I hope that some of you think about this when the time comes, and if not, I hope that you still make the best of what is to come.
Asaf for me is one of "The Best´s" ever... Such poetry, such feeling, one magician with the instruments... Hours and hours listening him... Gratitude...

Boah. Diese Version noch nie gehört . War zuerst erschrocken über seine Stimme . Aber dann ...... Wahnsinn . Das macht ihm so schnell keiner nach . Ganz ober in meiner Favoriten Liste. Danke.
It's been almost 6 years I've heard this song and still feels like the first time, this is a goddamn good song.
I was listening to Asaf Avidan before he was famous thanks radio paradise for introducing this amazing singer song writer to me.
HIPSTER ALERT!!!!!!

+J Nielsen Tomer the same for me, it was Arte TV, in " One Shot Not" 26/12/2011
I still love this song so much, and it’s almost 2020...
Yeah, don't be too thrilled about 2020...
@@meesterantoine Haha, I forgot about this comment... 2020 sucks 😭
Omg, you're a poet and you put me in the mind of Bob Dylan's prophetic writings....love your work.
Perfect voice !!
Actually to me it's the imperfection of his voice that makes his singing so great. It brings through the heartbreak like no perfect pitch could, you know?
MisterBlueSky1000
this!!
His voice is amazing
Thank you Asaf. I'm so glad I discovered you. You're are inspiring, going out to get me a new acoustic guitar.
This song made me have an existential crisis one year ago, it was the best thing that could have happened to me
It's amazing how some songs can do that. Goodluck to you through you crisis and I hope you grow through whatever tribulations you are going through.
I just discovered his music and I love it, I can just feel the music. Beautiful.
what a heavenly voice. the puts my anxious mind at ease.
First heard this song more than 2 years ago. Came upon it today and it's as good as I remember it. Goosebumps.

The brilliantness of UA-cam spying on you throws up songs and artists you don't know but who blow you away......this is one
Since days I can't get this song out of my head!
I'm very sorry for you! You have a very poor mind. That is very sad. Hope you soon feel better. Unfortunately I believe this isn't going to happen since you insult people you don't even know.
He truly has a disease lol

"One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told..."
I can't stop singing this, it's hypnotic. it is ... amazing
his voice is like a lullaby. Kids can sleep listening to it.
J'aime tellement cette chanson ! :)
love it or hate it you can deny his unique
+Sexuna Kido You mean "can't", right..?
You can almost feel the amount of emotion he sings with :)
Every now and then, I find myself singing it. Why is that? No idea. It absolutely fits me.
Last day of 2023 and still diggin' this tune.......
Probably the best musician came out of Israel. Purely amazingness!
The band : Lola Marsh, as well, although some might say that would be Gene Simmons/KISS (AKA Chaim Weitz).
One day baby, just one day. Love this in 2024
Definitively, the best version of this song.

I just love the very unique quality and sound of his voice. So well done! So unusual and different.
When we’re 85, we’ll weep at how we played each other
And neglected the opportunity to love each other deeply
And truthfully
😒
Dear heavens this tears into my very soul!
I really love this song and I just realized one minute ago it exists, it's so beautiful
January 4th 2022 and still loving this song... Anyone else???
Greetings from Venezuela 🇻🇪
Asaf for me is one of "The Best´s" ever... Such poetry, such feeling, one magician with the instruments... Hours and hours listening him... Gratitude...
Listening to this in the release as a child, and cant really understand the meaning. Now I am old...
Human emotions cooked down to its purest form in 3 minutes time. Wow.
I could listen to it over and over again with not being bored of it once lmai
Hello, how are you doing it's nice meeting you here.
