I loved how all of the characters in the hub wave at you when you run near them in their own unique ways. Something that I also thought was cool is how your rivals are amused when you appear (which makes sense, since they're all placed in weird places, making Sonic pop out of nowhere in their point of view), except for Shadow, because he's just that cool.
I-no joke- had the Planet Wisp theme from this game crammed in my head for about 7-8 years, and when I listened to all the level themes I thought maybe I was crazy, but then at 4:05, I realized I’d truly remembered it and finally discovered the mystery tune I’d had in my head for so long!

I don't think change is bad for sonic, and I still believe nostalgia can coexist as well, but change doesn't mean sonic has to be reimagined each year. They could come up with original plotlines, gameplay mechanics, etc.
*Speed Highway* is awesome in any form it appears in. And MAN do I just love and feel the same of "Dreams of an Absolution." I remember smiling like a big doofus when I first heard that little remix when seeing Silver here. ❤🔥❤🔥

There’s something so charming about the white space remixes of these themes that really makes this a solid, amazing celebration of Sonic’s 20th anniversary and I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get some sort of sequel to generations for his 30th anniversary! Even if the levels were from the same games but the levels themselves were different I would’ve been satisfied! Marble zone or spring yard for Sonic 1, Mystic cave for sonic 2, Flying Battery for S3+K, the list goes on! Also, I love opening the boss gates with those epic tunes playing in the background (especially Perfect Chaos and Egg Dragoon)!
@@train4292 yeah but I would’ve liked a structure similar to that of Generations. As in, a central hub with the levels and bosses and then the extra missions (which by the way in the original were one of my favourite parts of the game).
I remember playing this game back when I was a kid, and good god the sheer hype and excitement I felt hearing Planet Wisp, not knowing it was in the game was definitely something special.
