he is the most [ to me ] the most interesting man, who else goes this far to see what our seas have to show us, brave guy has my respect. big time
James Cameron does what James Cameron does, because James Cameron.... is James Cameron.
cant wait to see the expedition !!!!!
''He's going to the deepest depths no man has been before'' Thats what she said
James Cameron, you rock!
His Name is James Cameron, greatest pioneer!
Good work.
For a strange reason this is the only crew that Cameron doesn't humiliate while at work.
Good luck Mr. Cameron!
He is the first one to bring modern devices down there.
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Neil Armstrong.....
The invocation itself is pretty self-explanatory wouldn't you think? Sounds pretty altruistic and humble. I would think that in a moment such as this, that Mr. Armstrong's words would have been a true measure of what lived in his heart.
Mr. Cameron, while being a brilliant filmmaker, has long boasted about his "firsts". He is arrogant and self-congratulatory, clearly puts himself out front of everything else.
Exactly its been that long since
Okey, I see. Looking forward to see the results of it :)
I like how the robot arm has just casually got a watch on.
The suspense is killing me!
Well, I'm quite jealous of his awesome work on T2 and Aliens. Beyond that? Not so much. Like I said to some other guy here, I don't have a problem with Cameron's actions. I have a problem with the Spin about this being a first.
It's a RECORD. That should be enough. The longest time exploring the trench is a pretty laudable. Being the third person down there, and using spin to claim it as a first should be beneath Cameron... But, apparantly that's right up his street.
isnt it just that he is the first SOLO dive?
If you did it solo, you could say you were the "first to do it solo."
Passion plus money equals reality.
They make it sound like he was the first to do this. Ok, he may be the first to do it solo, but people have been down there 50 years ago.
LOLOLOL- Yeah :-D *Chuckle*
No problem, Jaboober. Glad we got to the bottom of it - Rare occurrence on YT. ;)
dude's got balls, I'll give him that
I think he going to turn it into a movie which probably wont come out till next year. sad face..... but im so excited to see it.
what about bathroom break? does that thing have a built in bathroom? i for one cannot not use the bathroom for hours
So we have redbull dropping a guy from 120,000 feet and National Geographic sending James Cameron down 35,000 feet. SOME FAITH I HUMANITY HAS BEN RESTORED!!!!!!!!
NG...why don't you guys find out what that disk shaped object that was found on the ocean floor? its not one, but two disk shaped object.
I can do that!
But also : James Cameron is planning to shoot some footage seven miles underwater in the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the Mariana Trench and also the deepest location on earth. The pressure at such a depth would be over 8 tons per square inch - far beyond the capabilities of even the most advanced Russian military subs, which can handle only 1,600 pounds per square inch.
Why would a military sub need to go that low lmao
@@mastergator9641 i wrote this comment 11 years ago, I am still doing fine, hi to all
Team Zissou!
is that a rolex? 1:00
yes i saw that rolex is a sponsor
If I go to the bottom of the Ocean wearing a sombrero, do I get to say "I was the first person who went to the bottom of the Ocean wearing a sombrero"?
No... And similarly, being alone in the sub is not an achievement of worth.
Two guys went down there before him - Long before him - THEY were the first people to go to the bottom of the Ocean. Cameron is the third. No amount of spin will ever change that unassailable fact. The fact that he was alone when he went, is entirely irrelevant.
This is NOT an exploration First. In 1960 Don Walsh and Jaques Piccard dived the Mariana Trench in a submersible. Cameron makes NO mention of this in these videos.
If I flew to the moon today and walked on it's surface, I don't get to say that "I was the FIRST person to walk on the moon (alone)".
u do know avatar 2 will be in ocean and not on pandora ? he always shoots for his movies .. same was for titanic or abyss
he is a boss
Everyone will forget all about this when Kathryn Bigelow becomes the first human to land on Mars.
He's going deeper with much more photo evidence.
he wears a bathroom system very similar to what NASA astronauts utilize in their space missions. yes, its THIS high tech and advanced, yet primitive also! :)
Glad to see he is spending some of that Avatar money on something fun.
He has no backup sub to rescue him if ever something wrong. Damn!
If anything goes wrong he becomes the size of a ball bearing in a millisecond, there will be no rescue.
When is he gonna dive into the depth of deep stories?
lokks like it is. But why? Is it for commercial?
You are missing my point entirely.
I love what Cameron did. I love why he did it, and what he accomplished...
However, NG and Cameron himself spun this as a First. And it wasn't a first. It was more extensive... But, it wasn't a first.
I'm not the one who is putting the massive value on being First... Cameron and NG are, by attempting to spin this into something it isn't.
Being a record breaker and a more extensive mission should have been enough for them... But, apparantly it wasn't.
GO!! GO NOW!! To the deep, to the moon, to mars. Go somewhere! Do something, world.
that is one lucky robot
It's too bad he had to get his movie idea from Fern Gully...
What a fucking man :D
how deep did he reach ?
Aka Ykarius 10000 metres
Being the only person in the submersible is not an achievement of worth.
did he actually go down?
Two others did it 50 years ago. And until Cameron, no one had been back since. So, yeah, it's kind of a big deal.
Same thing that the Apollo guys did -- use adult diapers.
You mention mention altruism as a motivation. What drives people to be altruistic? Because it's the "right" thing to do. Why do you want to do the "right" thing? Because you want to be a good person. Why do you care if you're a good person? Because you want to feel good about yourself. Why? Because you're an egoist, just like every other human being that has ever existed.
haahahhahah you made my day dude...
WHO SAYS THAT MONEY CANT BUY HAPPINESS???
most probably he wont eat or drink anything for a period of about 12 hours prior to his descent .. and probably will be on saline .. or else he just wont eat anything and just drink fluids so that he can only pee in a bag .. but i don't know, im just speculating
its donee!!!!
Congrats Mr Cameron! Come back home safe so you can produce Avatar 2! I'm sure you will be inspired.
can i come? ^^
he's toast.
u use the bathroom before diving
We need more of these filthy rich people activly getting into science and things we havent explored yet.
second
did he die?
7th
First!:)
Implosion not explosion
A jug
Has he gone down yet?
At least he isn't spending money on a golden Lamborghini.
OHHHH FUCK I DID PLZZZZ PPLZZZZ DONT KILL ME!!!! PPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I've watched enough hentai to know where this is going.
he is dong this cuz of avatar 2 and 3 actually
Watch out for Mobey Dick Cameron.
Watch out Chuck Norris Someone has bigger balls than you.
lol wow sponsorship to the extremes
hee hee hah hah hoo hoo
Go out the window.
uuuuhh it doesn't if your a wear mask. The pressure will still crush... along with the mask.
Who knows.... He might just find the cure for cancer.
Maybe he will die, and then they can make a movie about it....
CGI submarine.
Wrong director buddy......
For goodness sake... Listen to yourself.
I know full well what Cameron did there. He spent a long time down there. The fact that he was alone in the sub, is fine... But, it's not worthy.
I'm over the moon that someone has gone back down there.
But, he will NEVER be the first. No matter how you spin it. Walsh and Piccard were the first, and they always will be. Belittling their achievement because you want to "big-up" Cameron is pretty low, mate.
You are bad mouthing Walsh and Piccard?
WHY? Ask yourself why you are bad mouthing two intrepid explorers. Dolt.
Bring a US flag and put in the the ground down there
I think that this is all about the ego of one man. Less than 2% of the earth's oceans have been explored, and more is known about moon, than the most pervasive mass on our planet. My question to Mr. Cameron would be simple. Is this about you and another "first", or is this about science and how mankind can benefit from what is discovered. Would it be better for him to donate his personal fortune to something less self-indulgent and more altruistic?
No, he would have been crushed to nothing. ;)
yeh... like... going to texas and jump around on sand like pricks while holding a camera dressed up in tinfoil? Some achievement.
Nothing you can't do with Avatar money. What a tool.
A person's motivation matters to me. Would it not be more noble to put his money to better use? Am I wrong? The truth is, there are greater "human" needs that require time and attention. Much more so than one's selfish ambition to promote his name further for the name of "science". This IS about the ego. Mr. Cameron is a man using his wealth to wet his own appetite for adventure. This is yet another sandbox for Mr. Cameron to play in. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is typical self-congratulatory nonsense from one of the most arrogant men on the planet. James Cameron is about one person. James Cameron. Is it a coincidence that he went alone in this submersible? I don't think so. This is about James Cameron promoting his own name for his own purpose. He used the same dialogue when making The Abyss. "This is an all-time first" he proclaimed. "First time in all history." Mr. Cameron should take some time off and spend less time patting his own back.
No. James Cameron is a THIRD man to explore the Mariana Trench. I couldn't give a rats arse if he was in the sub alone or not. Being alone isn't an achievement.
