Trying to get my second Mark of Excellence on my 140, kinda stuck around high 70s, low 80s, Best mentality I found is this, and if I could tattoo this on my hand, I would. DO NOT PLAY FOR DAMAGE. PLAY FOR SURVIVABILITY FIRST, ALWAYS. Best way to play this tank is to not take hits, like you said, wait until the ~7v7 phase of the game, then go around flanking, farming, DPMing people. Early you just get out-traded. Basically, if you survive and dont take hits, the damage will come eventually, guaranteed, every time. People will make mistakes, you will get opportunities. Think about it like this, what if you were the last person alive on your team, every single game? Yes when you win very hsrd this can be punishing because you are playing like a pussy, but in reality this is waaaaay more consistent especially with WoT being a long-term stat game (MoE, wn8, so on...) Also if your team is winning you are fast with lots of DPM so just go and farm the last few tanks, if your team is losing fall back and camp somewhere and farm damage till you die. Either way, be one step ahead of your team. Another reason to wait for mid/late game is this tank is a semi-light tank (once again, a Russian Leopard I) so you can spot stuff for your team. Imagine that you won the heavy flank of the map, now you are in "clean-up" mode with your team, you can be the first to spot the backline TDs and get loads of spotting damage right before closing the game. This is what tends to happen, one way or another, you are useless at the start, then you mega farm towards the end, so if you die early, you don't get the mega farm phase, which is why its better to stay alive than to do damage with this tank, especially considering low alpha ie you cant trade one for one, ever.

Except what i'd add is using the 140's good mobility you are able to take good positions(safe) at the start of the game which can allow you to do 1-3 extra shots of dmg in the first 1-2 min. Almost every map has crossings which can be exploited by tanks with mobility. If your struggling to 2nd mark tracking tanks can be a huge boost in your games especially when your team has a many guns to aimed at 1 tank. Gl in your 2nd mark!

Honestly, the 140 and Patton have collected dust in my garage since I unlocked udes 15/16. I just does everything better. Side note are you still in Canada and did the SKS survive the assault weapon ban?
I thought I would love the 140 as I loved the T44 and the T54, no bueno, its amazing but I can't get consistant wins with it, I love my T20 and didnt want to grind the Pershing but wanted the Patton, so I used up all my fragments and free XP to get the M6 Patton, and just didnt click with it, loved the gun but the low top speed, and general hugeness of it I could not live with, now collecting dust with a 4/5 skill crew in it!
@@zGJungle I like the M46 more than the M48. They were my first medium line I went down and I thought the m46 was trash three years ago. Now I enjoy it a lot more, I was playing it wrong for a long time and have since corrected it. But the leo PTA is better in every way now. If you like the t20, I would say the PTA would work for you.
well tbh those are very different tanks, obj is just best tank in this game when it comes to farming tanks, Patton is just good all round tank, it does nothing very good but also its not bad at anything. I personally really dont like udes because of its gun, Patton def has better gun even when u consider alpha, obj has shit alpha but very good gun handling, not saying udes is bad, good alpha + decent armor + good mobility is always good combo in wot
I love my Obj 140 so much, it's my favorite tank in the game, I have better games and have more fun in my 140 than I do in my Obj 430U. I don't know how people can suck in that tank it's just so lovely to use.
This video is spot on. I couldn't touch my overall average when I played the 140. When I first got it I thought I could brawl heavys on flat ground and expected to bounce everything. Treating it like a mid to long range support and focusing on macro is good advice. If I start taking hits from the side or rear quarters from a 140 my mind (more so than other tanks) instantly goes "oh I'm fucked! run run run!" giving the tanks I was facing every opportunity to close the distance.
I have the same carbon fiber wallet the I bought months ago using your code, I love it. So small, It's nice to keep in my front pocket instead of sitting on a fat leather wallet when I'm driving.

I always liked how the obj can side scrape. I got the t-54 mod 1 long before I got the t-44 and the secrete to the mod 1 to me is that it can side crape while the t-44 can not. It does feel like a more forgiving leopard 1. the gun on the 140 doesn't troll you like the gun on the 430U does
The most underrated tier 4 in the game is the Ke-ho, but it really needs at least a camo crew to work. It's basically the t-34's gun with worse accuracy, but a tier down on a fast light tank.
Lots of thought provoking stuff there. I think the Object 140 is one of those tanks you really need to /want/ to drive, and take the time to get to know inside and out in order to make it work.
Absolutely same for the T-62A. If you block something, its either a shot in the turret, or its from some shitty tier 8 with stock gun. Sniping and camping, otherwise you're dead.
I always do badly when I get angry at situational battles with negative outcomes. That’s more common when you’ve got a great tank yet you’re penned constantly, can’t win battles and RNG puts you in a noob team (I’m noob enough and don’t need identical players). The 140 has to be figured out or I’ll just leave it in the garage hoping mistakingly WG will “repair” an obnoxiously bad tank. You made this video and it was my “NO SH*T?!” Moment when I realized the tank had a lot of thought to it. WG in very odd and unusual ways, often confusing throws a tank in the game like this to really mess with my head. Your review proves it and is much welcomed.

I just want to give you a friendly advice,maybe you already know it :P If you choose "Diagonal" indicator in reticle settings,you will hit your blind shots way more easier.Because it has vertical line just at the top and middle,when you line it with your incoming enemy shell indicator,you can almost pinpoint their location.
Did you read my mind because I just bought the object 140 and looking up vids on how to play it lol! Yea, the only games I had success in was playing it like a cheeky sniper. So basically play it like a leo and use your HP and DPM late game to get rid of enemy tanks. That's the only way I found this tank to work for me. Everything else just ended in death. The tank basically has no armor and heat can go straight through your turret.
You're quite correct regarding the 140 play style. The thing that triggers me about it are the crazy sub 300hp apha rolls. The damage range is so wide that you cant trade consistently. It may take an extra shot or two to finish off an opponent.
This game is about survival. Sometimes bouncing 1 shot is the difference between a 1500 dmg loss and a 4900 dmg win... the upper front plate being strong is what makes the 430u broken. The ability to have a 50/50 chance of bouncing a 100% penetration in another tank is what makes the 430u broken. This is what also makes the 279e broken as well. They need to nerf armor in the game.
GJ on tutorial video! QB got shitloads of subscribers when doing maps tutorials but he seems to have forgotten. My point is that if someone spends time for WOT but not playing it, they usually want to learn something.
Not to mention Shermans going against Ferdinands and Jagdtigers. Planning on snagging the T-62A just because I don't need to research it and I have 2 good medium crews already
I don't play many tier Xs. I had the 140 sitting in my garage for a while but then an event came to WG NA that needed me to play it. I actually did pretty well in it and like the tank a lot. It took a few games to get to understand the tank but its a pretty good tank as far as I'm concerned. I had a good crew which helped. I did not need to use many premium rounds. I don't understand why people have a hard time with the tank. I think its more the fact that tier X games are a different meta, one where you need to be even more careful and thoughtful of how you play.
I’m statistically better in my 140 than some other tier 10s I’m at 55% win rate in it, which is really good for me as I’m about 49,5% and climbing towards 50%

Frustration in this game can only be dealt with by walking away, taking a break and collecting your thoughts. There’s things going on in this game that literally can’t be understood without looking at every part that has the potential of failure but you still play it. It’s the frustration that drives the effort to learn how to be better and also makes some quit.
For some reason I find the Obj 140 to be fun and easy for me. I'm able to keep a 60% WR in it. And for some reason I suck playing the Obj430U. Lol I'm barely able to keep a WR above 50% in it.
1:20 The reason why the T-34's armor isn't as great in WOT is because Shells don't lose penetration against sloped armor like it does In War-thunder, which makes tanks like the Panther and Practically all soviet vehicles greater effective armor.
Also I can't even do my HP in damage in a game but damn am I good at being a cheeky bastard shooting people when they aren't looking, flanking and taking out low HP tanks, etc. I'm consistent and winning quite a bit in it, but my DPG is honestly bad. I'm used to having low damage but still winning a lot but I don't even have my HP in damage yet which is extremely poor for me but at least I'm winning a lot (and by a lot I mean 60%~). I don't care about damage though, I care more about winning but damage tends to lead to more wins. I do focus on damage and kills that matter though. Shutting down tanks and preventing better players from using their positions is just how I win as a solo player. I think playing it as a leo is very good advice. Great video Lemming!
I have wasted so much breathe trying to explain to people that i will wreck a 140 who thinks he can brawl, you are 100% right about it not being a knife fighter, if they are trying to out DPM a tank with effective armor, they are completely outranked. Lemming - This was and is a helpful video. I had 333 games with a 37% win ratio in my Obj 140 but I'm stubborn like that. While a couple of wins last night doesn't make a streak at least I have an idea what I was doing wrong (trying to brawl).
Not sure what Lemmings Damage is but the 140 is a fun tank. If you can get hull down in a spot that takes advantage of the extra gun depression even a 430U wouldn't stand a chance and yes the 430U's turret can be penned. 430U plays like the tier 9 T-54 in that you can take a decent beating and still dole out dmg. 430u is fun too but I like the mobility and camo of the 140 and I can bait and flank much better with it.
I know the feeling. I have >60% in my 430U but only get 41-42% in my 140 (after 200 battles) and I can't seem to improve. Got a mark of excellence, but my winrate stats are just so shameful that I'd love to hide them under the couch.

Great timing, today I played my first games in my 140 and sucked balls. Ofcourse getting 1-15 games didnt help :E . I've been playing the Leo PTA recently and every other medium feels lacking after it.
I decided to get my 140 and Patton at the start of this crisis, big mistake man! The games are so fucking awful right now that you can get tilted with a new tank easily.
Only just found this video thank you so much, I got this as my first ever T10 and it absolutely ruined my love of the game. Now you have the Obj 430u that rolls face and would be the auto pick going into T10 Russian mediums now.
When I got the Obj. 140 I was expecting good things, and I fell flat on my face - like horrible 40% win rate (10 1/2 % below my average). All that you say here is true. I am now so shell shocked that I just don't have any confidence to take it out, and regret getting it. I figure the 430U would be much better for me, or maybe ANYTHING else. One thing you did not mention, the Leopard has gun depression of 10% and the 140 6% which is a BIG deal. The Leopard can therefore exploit ridges, and ground undulations where the 140 can not get a shot in.

The only piece of armor the 140 has, is side armor due to the boat shaped hull. It's also better for firing in bushes because of its low caliber gun.

I just want to give you a friendly advice,maybe you already know it :P If you choose "Diagonal" indicator in reticle settings,you will hit your blind shots way more easier.Because it has vertical line just at the top and middle,when you line it with your incoming enemy shell indicator,you can almost pinpoint their location.

Yea, the only games I had success in was playing it like a cheeky sniper. So basically play it like a leo and use your HP and DPM late game to get rid of enemy tanks. That's the only way I found this tank to work for me. Everything else just ended in death. The tank basically has no armor and heat can go straight through your turret.
You're quite correct regarding the 140 play style.
The thing that triggers me about it are the crazy sub 300hp apha rolls. The damage range is so wide that you cant trade consistently. It may take an extra shot or two to finish off an opponent.

This game is about survival. Sometimes bouncing 1 shot is the difference between a 1500 dmg loss and a 4900 dmg win... the upper front plate being strong is what makes the 430u broken. The ability to have a 50/50 chance of bouncing a 100% penetration in another tank is what makes the 430u broken.
This is what also makes the 279e broken as well. They need to nerf armor in the game.
279e is a tough reward vehicle... most of us will never get... so it's balanced i only saw like 2-3 in my life... or around 2k battles

T-34 (Russian) is my most played tank and I do well with it. I mostly treat it like a sniper, flanker, and try not to go toe to toe.
Not to mention Shermans going against Ferdinands and Jagdtigers. Planning on snagging the T-62A just because I don't need to research it and I have 2 good medium crews already
I don't play many tier Xs. I had the 140 sitting in my garage for a while but then an event came to WG NA that needed me to play it. I actually did pretty well in it and like the tank a lot. It took a few games to get to understand the tank but its a pretty good tank as far as I'm concerned. I had a good crew which helped. I did not need to use many premium rounds.
I don't understand why people have a hard time with the tank. I think its more the fact that tier X games are a different meta, one where you need to be even more careful and thoughtful of how you play.
I’m statistically better in my 140 than some other tier 10s
I’m at 55% win rate in it, which is really good for me as I’m about 49,5% and climbing towards 50%
I am the opposite, my over all is 53% but on the 140 its 49%, and I love mediums, especially Russian ones! Just can't win consistantly with it.

Frustration in this game can only be dealt with by walking away, taking a break and collecting your thoughts. There’s things going on in this game that literally can’t be understood without looking at every part that has the potential of failure but you still play it. It’s the frustration that drives the effort to learn how to be better and also makes some quit.

For some reason I find the Obj 140 to be fun and easy for me. I'm able to keep a 60% WR in it.
And for some reason I suck playing the Obj430U. Lol I'm barely able to keep a WR above 50% in it.

1:20 The reason why the T-34's armor isn't as great in WOT is because Shells don't lose penetration against sloped armor like it does In War-thunder, which makes tanks like the Panther and Practically all soviet vehicles greater effective armor.

Also I can't even do my HP in damage in a game but damn am I good at being a cheeky bastard shooting people when they aren't looking, flanking and taking out low HP tanks, etc. I'm consistent and winning quite a bit in it, but my DPG is honestly bad. I'm used to having low damage but still winning a lot but I don't even have my HP in damage yet which is extremely poor for me but at least I'm winning a lot (and by a lot I mean 60%~). I don't care about damage though, I care more about winning but damage tends to lead to more wins. I do focus on damage and kills that matter though. Shutting down tanks and preventing better players from using their positions is just how I win as a solo player.

I have wasted so much breathe trying to explain to people that i will wreck a 140 who thinks he can brawl, you are 100% right about it not being a knife fighter, if they are trying to out DPM a tank with effective armor, they are completely outranked. Lemming - This was and is a helpful video. I had 333 games with a 37% win ratio in my Obj 140 but I'm stubborn like that. While a couple of wins last night doesn't make a streak at least I have an idea what I was doing wrong (trying to brawl).

Not sure what Lemmings Damage is but the 140 is a fun tank. If you can get hull down in a spot that takes advantage of the extra gun depression even a 430U wouldn't stand a chance and yes the 430U's turret can be penned. 430U plays like the tier 9 T-54 in that you can take a decent beating and still dole out dmg. 430u is fun too but I like the mobility and camo of the 140 and I can bait and flank much better with it.

I know the feeling. I have >60% in my 430U but only get 41-42% in my 140 (after 200 battles) and I can't seem to improve. Got a mark of excellence, but my winrate stats are just so shameful that I'd love to hide them under the couch.

Great timing, today I played my first games in my 140 and sucked balls. Ofcourse getting 1-15 games didnt help :E . I've been playing the Leo PTA recently and every other medium feels lacking after it.
I decided to get my 140 and Patton at the start of this crisis, big mistake man! The games are so fucking awful right now that you can get tilted with a new tank easily.

What i learned about the 140 is, the armor can be very bouncy but its nothing you can rely on cause its a bitch aswell.

Only just found this video thank you so much, I got this as my first ever T10 and it absolutely ruined my love of the game.
Now you have the Obj 430u that rolls face and would be the auto pick going into T10 Russian mediums now.

When I got the Obj. 140 I was expecting good things, and I fell flat on my face - like horrible 40% win rate (10 1/2 % below my average). All that you say here is true. I am now so shell shocked that I just don't have any confidence to take it out, and regret getting it. I figure the 430U would be much better for me, or maybe ANYTHING else. One thing you did not mention, the Leopard has gun depression of 10% and the 140 6% which is a BIG deal. The Leopard can therefore exploit ridges, and ground undulations where the 140 can not get a shot in.
I haven't touched my 140 in probably a year for this reason. I constantly expected this thing to be stronk but my 42% win rate in it showed otherwise.

Hopefully that's not how you store your rifle on a daily basis. Soft cases hold moisture and that can lead to a rusty rifle.
