- It is time to say goodbye to the abandoned camper. We have been working on cleaning up our new property in between times when we are working on the house and other things. Today is was a big step forward of our final goal of having this hilltop cleaned up of all the old junk. The abandoned homestead is looking better each day we go out there.

Last year they got Bobby a pretty lady but she did not stick around long after they got out of there two weeks lock up. There not sure if an animal got her or she flew away. 😢
Bobby needs a couple lady friends. Might be better if they either kept them pinned up for a lot longer or hatched out some of there own(but heard that’s kinda hard and you don’t know what sex you are going to get).

The drop zone looks good and I prefer that to an entry closet. The pantry looks nice too, and big. And dogs getting busted it always funny. 😄

Someone on another channel said you need some black chickens to keep the hawks away from the flock because hawks see the black chickens and think they're crows, which fight with hawks.

I love contrasting colors, up to three in an area, which is less boring and adds contrast and depth. It is really coming together. Even though it seems slow, it’s steady. Keep your eyes on the prize, which is no debt.
I like your idea in the pantry with the can stuff. I wish my pantry had that much room. Railroad ties work great in landscaping too divert water and they will outlast anything else and cheaper. Good luck guys
Our neighbors that had chickens couldn't break their dog of stealing eggs so they sucked the egg out of the shell and put hot sauce in it and left it for him. He took the bait and never stole eggs again.
Loving the drop zone and the pantry too!! It's going to be a great house for yall. And the creek property will be an adventure place for you and your family for generations. You could make it your own private park.

Make a temporary chicken door for the trailer so the dogs can't get in there

Just saying. Not sure of the name but I saw a video of someone with chickens like you. They had a old camper they fixed up inside to have places for the chickens to lay eggs and whatever. It was all painted nice on the outside as well so it wasn't a eye sore. Also could be for the bus you cleaned out. For any of the animals.
A rolling ladder like they have in libraries would be nice for those top shelves not lard to install
You know your horses should get a multi grain not just oats that’s with the three thoroughbreds it make some awful hyper. Plus I thought you gave her horses. Some hay they are browsing animals.

Ok how is it so expensive you have lots of property with Lot's of tree's and you have a sawmill by now you should have the wood milled up for the chicken coop at least that much so it would have time to dry out some

My goodness why would you paint that beautiful wood in the pantry? It's so nice. My mouth dropped when I saw the paint. Everyone has different tastes. Bet your glad the camper is gone. Now for the bus 🚐.

Hopefully you can get Bobby a couple of ladies to keep him company. And hopefully they'll be smart enough to evade the predators. Poor bird hasn't had much luck with the females. 💖💖💖

If you don’t want to have to clean your paint trays line them with aluminum foil and then just remove it when finished and you have a clean tray for the next paint day. Saw this on furniture flipping teacher and thought it was a great idea.

Since y’all have had so much rain check your ponies feet for thrush pick the mud and stuff out of their feet daily to minimize the possibility of thrush. Please don’t think I’m being a snarky snot. I’m just suggesting the ponies feet should be trimmed every 6-8 weeks. I love your content your new property God has blessed you with the ability to build your own homestead you have a great family. As I'm looking at your mudroom area,I think you should let the girls decorate the way they want to.They seem to be at school when things are being done,and this way it will let everyone see their work as they walk into the house. Everything is looking great. I wish I could have a life like you have,,I did as a child.WE only had cold running water that we had to pump in the basement,no indoor plumbing.Our heat was either wood or coal stoves.Looking back now that was the happiest time of my life.Good Luck and God Bless You and your family.

Thank you Dutch, enjoyed your video glad to see things are coming along. Pantry looks great. You know, you would think the chickens would stay away from your little miniature horses, they’re just not too bright, meaning the chickens. Lol
Another matter in regard to the chickens, I think I wouldn’t want my dogs going in there. I don’t know if it’s a little forgetfulness on your part by leaving the gate open. We all do silly stuff like that. But one thing I did catch and it has to do with dog training, I notice these things because I’ve been training dogs for over 45 years. When you got after the dogs for being in there, red-handed, they came out and then made their way over to you, but this is where I caught it. You started loving and petting on them. It’s just one of those things that if you’re really not wanting your dog to do something, then you don’t love on them for doing it. You were making a video I get that you were busy, but I just happen to notice it. But anyways, maybe with a little feedback for you it will help you keep the dogs out of the chicken coop. Besides petting them after getting after them for being in there, you might want to quit feeding the dogs, the chicken eggs, directly from the coop, if you want them to have eggs, then when it comes to dinner time, you might have some eggs set aside already that are sitting in a bowl for the dogs in the house and use those, but don’t feed them directly from the coop because if you’re trying to keep them out, it’s defeating the purpose. I hope you don’t take any of this offensively, I’m always helping people with their pets behavior issues. Here in Portland, Oregon we are so unindicted with the homeless and problems that many of them have; it’s very very unruly dogs. I’ve taken it upon myself to help many of them in working with their dogs, so they can be good doggy citizens and not bite anybody. Prayers to you, the family, and all your critters.

My hearing is not the best, but it’s difficult for me to understand you when you’re talking behind the camera. Does the microphone swivel or is it fixed?
Mrs Brandi, a friend of mine has a nook like your drop zone, after using it for a bit, she bought little mats, I THINK she just got the small ones from the dollar tree, cut them in half, to slide on the floor under the bench to sit the shoes on when they changed them out or took their boots off instead of just sitting them on the floor and it helped her out w dirt. (Or you could use dollar tree placemats, they are the perfect size and can even be personalized as a craft for the kiddos. She would just take the little mat out from under each cubby, shake it off and put it back and it saved a lot of wear and tear on her back and sweeping. Thought I would share the idea. (you can also get the thick clear plastic like you roll your desk chair on and cut it to fit each cubby then spray it off when they get dirty or muddy)

Have you thought of a Formica on the pantries “table” like areas? Easier to wipe off and clean. Just saying I know we have fireplace dust on a lot of shelves after the cold weather here in MO.
