"Suga began working on the lyrics for "Stay Alive" once a release date for the song was finalized. He came up with the lyrics during a flight to the United States-it was one of two songs he wrote while on the plane, the other being "Girl of My Dreams"-for BTS' Permission to Dance on Stage concerts in Los Angeles. Wanting to directly reference the webtoon, Suga read its synopsis and the first four chapters, reviewed some of the artwork sketches, and imagined the song as if it were a soundtrack for an animation while writing.[3][5] The lyrics are a direct complement to the webtoon's storyline and the struggle of the main characters-seven boys-"as they try to survive in a vicious [corrupt] world" while having to "overcome numerous hardships and trials".[2][6] The webtoon's central theme is fate, and the song's title is evocative of "the harsh fate the seven protagonists are destined to face and contains the message that the most important thing is to stay alive in this cruel world."[7]

They really put everything into a WEBTOON OST. Suga went all in for production and lyrics and JK matched him with vocal quality. You can have the song playing while reading the WEBTOON when it came out on a very angsty chapter. Very devastating and why is the promo video better than most movies?…. I need this as a full anime voice acted by guys so so sooo badly.

as far as i know, Jungkook worked with the melody of the song w Yoongi in In The Soop but they didn't use it in the final version. Yoongi said it is hard to adjust vocals to the song because the melody is so dynamic but the vocals were single take!! there was nothing missing so he used what JK first took. they really went hard for a webtoon ost, i cant still process how can a song be this moving, everything is perfect w the sound and lyrics.
+ just wanted to add things as i watched through the video lol. this was Jungkook's first official song as a soloist and tbh i didn't believe we were going to get his own Spotify account but he did... and his first collab happened, he broke more and more records. if you had asked me at the beginning of this year if you believed that these would happen i would have said no but they DIDD, i'm so proud of him🥺he has the biggest debuts on Spotify by kpop/Korean soloist w l&r and stay alive both at #3. this song is so good but i feel like we moved on from it too fast, now mostly the fanatics listening😕 but it is definitely going to be #1 on my Spotify Wrapped
I think they were working on RUN!BTS during the soop not Stay Alive. Jungkook wrote/composed ? the first verse.
This song is an ost for their webtoon Chakho. Suga said he drew direct inspiration from the story of the webtoon when he was working on it. JK was not the writer but he pours wonderful emotion into the song.
The Webtoon is a modern day fantasy. The BTS members fight against beoms that are big cat-like monsters from another dimension. In the story the BTS members have characters based on their looks. But their characters have different names and backstories. I can’t recall their Chakho names, the story was on a break and I have not caught up yet.
But Jung Kook’s character is who the story starts off with and is half beom, and Jimin’s character is a magical rock that can turn into a human form. Namjoon’s character is seeking revenge for the deaths of his friends by the beoms. Another character is searching for his missing sister and someone else is in love with a beom.
Jimin’s character has magical powers and Jung Kook has some super strength & speed. They all do use weapons that you see in the promo video. And that’s all that I recall off the top of my head.
I really need to catch up on it now that is releasing again. I do read Webtoons and fantasy is a fav genre, although modern not so much.
I really do love the song so much. It’s beautiful. Jung Kook’s vocals are breathtaking and Suga is a genius at getting a song to express emotion.
Do the boys write the story or is that handled by a third party? Either way this is so cool
@@AmariLeone The guys don't write it. HYBE (their company) has a department set up for these kinds of works. If it does well I'm sure they will even get into animation.
But the company and the guys have always worked on extra things like this. I believe this is their 4th comic. There is one from 2015(?) called something like, Little Monsters??? Then they had another one a few years later, the title was something about Stars, it didn't get much traction and I only came across a few chapters. Then, of course there is their Webtoon Save Me, based on the Bantan Universe that they have going through several music videos.
Some people criticize them for doing all these kinds of other things like comics and games, but their company from the start has always been pushing and investing to get multiple streams of engagement and income for them.
I see it as helping keep them having a steady source of income to be free to devote themselves to their craft and not feel pressured to just make music when they are not inspired. They are not being forced to have to make posts like "if this gets 500k likes, I'll release my song" like other artists are being forced to. Plus the music industry to getting away with paying artists less and less and keeping more and more money for themselves. So BigHit has been ahead of the game by seeking ways to not be reliant on solely it for their artists sources of income.

In Korean history the Chakho was the Royal Tiger hunter to the Josheon dynasty’s kings. A position that demanded respect in the Royal court. In the BTS webtoon Chakho 7 fates, they are fighting against tiger demons, except that Jungkook is half tiger. 😬

Yeah 7 Fates Chakho is a webtoon but I would kill for the anime version. I'm surprised you didn't click on the official story clip that showed at the end of the video because there they each explain their characters and the story.
As for the members dating - I really don't care. I want them to be happy regardless of who they partner with and if that means keeping it private I'm here for that. Generally any celebrity (when they date) it all becomes public fodder and that makes having a relationship even harder so I'm in the camp of I don't need to know if they don't want to talk about it.
I just watched what was requested of me via my Patron. As far as the dating thing I also want for their happiness in whatever form that comes.

I think Suga's more recent compositions have been more sonically expansive, for lack of a better term (I'm thinking specifically of this song and his "Over the Horizon" arrangements). I *really* want Suga to go ham on a movie score or commissioned work - imagine the masterpieces he could create when he has a full orchestra to play with. 🙏💜

Suga wrote it after reading synopis for webtoon, so he said he read what would be in webtoon, how story would go, and try to image it and write it but also wanted to be like soundtrack. Like what? How?
How can he put himself in this position and give us so much feels. And it is really close to story when you read you can feel this lyrics....
He said in interview that every time he writes and/or produces things for outside artist or projects (not for BTS or himself) he try always image concept and emotion that it have and put himself in position, image situation or think what he would like to hear... One word: Genius.
I love this song, it is song that I listen to everyday, at least once, like I have to play it once a day, usually it is more but yeah like it become for sure my favorite JK solo, but also favorite prod. Suga song....
So Jimin with green screen with rock, it is literally his character he is guardian (rock) of gate. So it makes sens with visuals. Hmm he has magic and is like JK guardian angel.
NJ character is person that is highly trained in combat with guns, all guns small, medium, big. He is very goid at this, like top tier, all characters in this story can use guns bc it is like "part of the job", but it is like normal use and NJ is top of the top.
JK weapon is katana (he also have hand gun), Jin - longbow, V - spear with big triangle blade ,Suga has two battle knifs something like kukri, Hobi chained blades like kusarigama.
So yeah Namjoon and Jin go for long distance combat mostly and Hobi and V close but not like JK and Suga hand to hand almost. Jimin is like support so long distance.
Story is really fun to read, if you like reading manga then I'm sure You are ok with manhwa too... But it goes slow, there was a break and ahh it is sad bc when breaks happens etc people lost interest, but it is really good story.
miss JK sm today and u have always appreciated JK accurately regarding his voice esp the emotion that he evokes on his listeners thats why im here again... so thank u once again 🙏🏼💜😢

This was to promote their Webtoon. I hope they turn it into anima. Character names of the members. RM as Dogeon, Jin as Hwan, Suga as Cein, J-Hope as Hosu, Jimin as Haru, V as Jooan, and Jungkook as Zeha. Weapons RM- gun and bombs, Jin- bow and quiver, Suga- dagger, J-Hope- kusarigama, V- spear, JK-sword and gun, Jimin- binding rope. Weapons are the color of their microphone. JK plays half human - half tiger.

Well hope all you want. BTS are not going to turn their webtoon which is an online graphic novel into a Japanese animation. Because BTS are Korean not Japanese, and animas are Japanese animations. In Japan there's one word anime for animated contact in Korea there are actually two different words which I don't remember for animation look them up!

Show "Stay alive" CHAKHO, "IONIQ: I'm on it", "Jungle" COKE ad and "Heartbeat" BTS WORLD to a non fan and /or producer and tell them those are TT on a bts album and they will believe it. Tell them those are plain ads and they will laugh at you. This guys didn't come to fool around.

This is one of the songs that made me realize the thing I want most as BTS army is to sit down and talk about writing with Suga for an hour. I love the way he thinks as a writer. This song is incredibly evocative fiction. Such good storytelling, words and music together.

It’s not about love…their song is not always about love with another person woman or girl. It’s more universal that it fits with everything every situation. This song is ost for the 7Fates: Chakho webtoon
I know the lyrics are based on the webtoon story, but considering the characters represent bts members, then technically they dedicated all this heartbreak and feels to each other.
Now that I think about it, bts has beautiful songs for army, but the most heartbreaking lyrics are always for each other
Beom means tiger in Korean, so the Beom invading from another dimension are all tiger creatures of various size, strengths, and abilities. The series starts with JK's character, Zeha, and Jimin's character, Haru. They are there for the start of the invasion of the Beom. A very powerful and rich man responds to this invasion by offering a bounty for each Beom killed. This led to the creation of Beom hunters and hunting teams. One by one, the seven characters meet and join forces. We haven't actually gotten to the part where the team is officially formed and named Chakho, but it's heading in that direction. J-Hope's character still hasn't joined the other six yet.
We get some background on each of the characters as they are introduced, some more than others, though. This song is the OST for Chapter 4, which is RM's characters back story. It's a sad and tragic one, hence the lyrics. This is one song that's not written to ARMY or any beloved/lover. It's strictly based on RM's character. The promo video includes scenes from the webtoon, 7Fates: Chakho, but they aren't animated in the webtoon. Also, there is another "tribe" that the Beom consider their enemies, the Gom tribe. Gom means bear. Zeha's mother was of the Gom tribe and his father of the Beom tribe. Each of the characters kind of get dragged into fighting the Beom, some more reluctantly than others. To me, it's a very interesting, well-thought out story. Lots of characters, Beom and human, are introduced. Some have more importance than others. The story is very graphic and violent and it's easy to get emotionally attached to the characters. Oh, and all of the boys have weapons that have colors that match their mic colors, to make it easier to identify them. There are a series of introduction videos where each of the guys talks about his character. We also see most of them get their weapons, so it helps to know which character is which when you first see them. I highly recommend the series, if you're okay with blood, gore, and war-time atrocities. Keep in mind, also, that the Beom eat humans.

This is one of my favorites. I don't think Jungkook wrote it but Suga had a hand in co-writing, This is an OST for their Webtoon "7 Fates: Chakho".There is more info about it on that YT channel of same name. The story (online comic book) is on the Webtoon app. New episodes every Friday night late here in the U.S. I am pretty sure this is the song that Suga and Jungkook were working on during In The Soop in a separate camper van thing. Suga is an excellent producer. Jungkook has an amazing voice. I agree he sings with so much emotion. He really got me with this, but also with his cover of Harry Styles "Falling". Couldn't help crying for that one. You are also correct, Still With You, is wonderful and he sings it for us A Cappella sometimes.

There is a trailer snopsis for each of their charcters on youtube under Seven Fates: Chakho by Hybe. The staccatto violins are called plucks like plucking a guitar. So they had a few that were doing runs they also had one maybe two plucking making the anxious come out. Gonna get technical for a sec. (feel I can cause you do) they were using to kinds of stacatto runs one would be 'Col legno' where it sounds like a pluck and when playing a fiddle its called plucking >.>. But they were also covering that with a jete where they were actually taking the bow and dancing across the strings. You can hear it if you listen (a third time -sorry) on the second chorus where you hear. I love the swell plus the push of the violin towards the chorus.

Sadly, I tried reading the Webtoon with excitement and well none of the characters look like the members in the manhwa so I gave up very quickly. I don't see why they linked it to BTS at all if they weren't even going to make the characters resemble the members...
its not a pc thing theres obvious songs that arent for army and then theres songs they said are about army theyre not just saying that for those particular songs just to say it.
like a song like just one day, look here, dna, etc very clearly anout a someone we dont knoe about but songs like magic shop, 2!3!, mikrokosmos, still with you, telepathy etc very specific lyrics shows its for army lol
majority of armys know they date and are okay with that they literally just feel like dedicating songs to army we dont assume its that. once you go through more of their discography youll see its not that many "love" songs dedicated to army and many of the love songs are simply that love songs which they dont explain who its about but they dont label them army songs either.

First off junk cook might not have had anything to do with writing this song at all it could have been RM alone. Could have been REM and Suga. It could have been any of these riders connected with BTS RM, Suga, J hope, Jiman, Jungkook, V, Jīn, P dog, slow rabbit, supreme boy or any of the other riders in HYBE and big hit music. Same thing goes for the other producers in HYBE labels and big hit.

The lyrics are actually written by Suga and he said he wanted to bring out an over-dramatized feeling with it because he felt like the webstoon storyline was that (IDK I haven't read the webtoon but just heard him talk about it)
