- NOTE: This time has been beaten by myself and lowered to 1:09:11 however the VOD has issues so this is the best I've got with a working video.
This won't take some beating but my god after so long this was finally worth it, went really quiet in the last parts of this and glad to have snatched the WR (Although myself and Iceman know it can come down a lot with better RNG on chase missions etc.)
This is my victory, this was the one I've wanted and with that I'm now done properly with this game (On emulator at least) onto console next! ;)

One of my favorite games. Loved it as a kid. Still think the physics in this game were incredible

bro I used to play this game on one of the side modes with the "train" cheat on, I'd go in the wrong lane of traffic and fn truck everything to the moon 🤣 good times. great speedrun man I was never this good lmao

Previous best was 1:11:51 which I set over 2 years ago and haven't gone back to it since. I knew I had a chance and made the most of it this time that's for damn sure 👍

Awesome run GG on WR, i wonder how long it took you to play in the first person view it looks like its be difficult
Honestly it did take a bit of getting used to but now it's just easy to know where you're car is most of the time. Hardest missions for it are the chase missions as you have to predict where the car is ahead when he's alongside or behind you.

Friggin had this on PC as a kid! loved it! Plus the director mode! was that even in the ps1 version? Also, is there a benefit for using the first person/front of the car view in the speedrun or just personal preference? Ps. Congrats!!
So the PS1 version did have the director mode and worked in the same way (I believe this was how the trailers were made back then too)
As for why I use the first person camera, when we are in that view the game shows less and improves the framerate (This is also the reason why I look to my left and right a lot too) as the less that is on screen, the better the performance of the game. This isn't as noticeable on emulator compared to console but it's still a factor.

Wait a minute! When u bust Jean Paul out of the cop car does the next part of the mission take place exactly where you busted him out? If so no wonder that mission took me all night as I managed to bust him out of the cop car right at the start of that part. The amount of map I had to cover on the next part was insane in the time limit it gave me never mind the cops spawning out of nowhere in the wrong side of the road.

Why do you keep flicking the camera left and right?
So the whole reason we do this is to increase framerate, the game naturally struggles when it has to show a car and other traffic cars on screen so the less it has to render the better the framerate becomes, this is also the reason why for the most part we play in 1st person view too.

It's usually quite cheap to buy depending on which region you are buying. Although getting hold of the ISO is also quite easy, there's a few places you can find it (I can't provide links here but Emuparadise is a good place for stuff ;))

@@dergerhard9724 Closest you can get to that I'd say is to use DuckStation and turn the settings up there. Apart from that I don't really know how you can get it REDRIVER 2 quality sorry :/

Why do you use side view, it's a frame rate thing, or because of the cop or traffic spawn?
It's to help increase the framerate for the game mainly
