Is a PTZ Camera that doesn’t move useful? In a very limited set of circumstances the answer might be yes. But a full PTZ still delivers more functionality for only a little more money.

What was the best effective range from camera to subject when using this camera? Do you thing it would be good for a mostly static wide shot at a range of 30 feet?

Sorry, but digital zoom sucks no matter what high-resolution camera is used.
