The Halo TV show is a hideous and fetal caricature of the rich universe of source material they had to work with. They had the Golden Goose in their hands and decided to strangle it and parade it’s corpse. It is founded on a flawed and completely broken premise: the creators simultaneously proclaim proudly that the show is not an adaptation and that they are creating their own story with the “Silver timeline” while also completely relying on and leeching the hard work and nuanced writing it would take to establish the universe and that was established by the original games. They have created an abomination that looks and sounds like Halo and insisting it isn’t the Halo you know, all the while stuffing the abomination with context and background from the games and completely skipping or omitting background in their own show. Here are 3 separate examples Captain Keyes death was displayed as a very emotional moment in the series. They haven’t described his motives or his mindset on much of anything by the time he dies in the show. The only bit of interesting character motive and personality for Keyes is shown in two brief scenes in the previous episode. It is painfully apparent that the showrunners are relying on the context of his character from the games to appeal for an emotional response, this is hypocritical. You cannot say that you are writing a whole new Keyes while also doing the absolute minimum to establish him as a show character and then expect an emotional response to his death because we knew him from the games. According to your logic they are two different people, and unluckily for you, they feel and look like 2 different people. All throughout this awful series we are hammered over the head with the idea that John is The Master Chief, the paragon of human achievement and the greatest hero of humanity. Everywhere anyone goes in this show his armor and title is plastered everywhere. He has hologram ads in the streets and posters with inspiring words inside military installations. At the same time you display a character whose feats in battle are no more impressive than any of the other Spartan IIs that are portrayed, in terms of skill and notability he is of the same caliber as the rest of the Spartans, not noteworthy in the slightest. On the worst side of things you display a soldier who questions authority, is repeatedly insubordinate to the point of treason, and struggles to regulate his emotions, he conducts himself as a child. The man is an absolute liability, how on earth is this man child given the amount of praise and respect he is? Here we are again with them simultaneously saying they are portraying a different Master Chief while also stealing his status and context with none of the work or context to justify portraying him as such, it is pitiful and laughable. The Halo Ring itself. Never in the series has the origin, function, or danger of the Halo Ring been explained, either in a Covenant context or human context. They haven’t even landed or seen a Halo proper until Ep 7 of Season 2. And yet all through season II we have had The Covenant, ONI, Halsey, Cortana, and Master Chief all know what a Halo ring is, what it does, and “know” from DNA memory how it works. What the actual fetch. They are relying on our understanding from the games without showing an ounce of research or groundwork from people like Halsey to uncover their secrets. It is absolutely disgusting how unbelievably lazy the storytelling is.
This is quite honestly the worst video game adaptation I've ever seen. Seriously I tried to give this show a chance...AGAIN. I'm incredibly disappointed.
Absolute garbage... Nothing about this series is Halo. Not the Spartans, not the story, not even the gd audio of anything is correct. Show went wild this episode and I'm glad they did it without the armor. Made the challenge level "Helldiver" instead of a mere "Challenge" and I'm here for that! They wanted the fall of Reach to be brutal and without armor it was insanity level brutal!
This Is cine 🚬
Less face time, more chief in his gear. Just my opinion.
I want to like a Halo show so bad... But this just...
Looks amazing! What movie is this?!
This is the Halo show. Season 2 episode 3
Star Wars: Jimmy Unto Rings
It's Halo the TV series, newbie.
2024 and 3 black guys had to die and 3 white villains keep getting a check.
All these nerds crying about the armour. This entire scene was insane and you wanna cry about armour.
Só faltou a armadura, não tem como luta sem ela 😅
Both Ackerson and ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) took both John's and the rest of Sliver Team's MJOLNIR armors with them when they secretly evacuated from Reach not long before the Covenant started to invade the planet.

And who the heck is Rizz? Why isn’t it Kelly or Linda?
BIG W episode
Reminds me of the Omaha Beach scene from “Saving Private Ryan.”
A Trash TV Series that is so dark you could barely see anything its worse as Godzilla 2014 Final battle for again the Halo 2 Anniversary Cutscenes do a better job.
So is silver team the only spartans on reach cause the whole sad point of reach was that all the spartans were wiped out seems like the show writers don't understand the importance of this battle
Other Spartans got ambushed and killed so in this version they're abandoning Reach early because they know they can't win.
All of them weren't wiped on Reach and most of the ones that did were 3s
@magiccups576 I know what they did for the show and it's lazy the whole point of the battle of reach was the unsc couldn't afford reach to fall so abandoning it was a very dumb story decision it's where we see most of the spartan branched wiped out and the show is ruining that version
@detroitmade6 exactly reach is where most of the spartan branch was wiped out it was the Alamo of the unsc and what made it so epic it was the spartan branches last stand and they couldn't afford to lose the planet the TV show is completely out of touch with story and lore and its ruining how reach fell
@@robodino2771 You literally should watch the Promos, theres hundreds of Spartan 3s, Reach City is just 1 area, just like New Alexandria, where Silver Team had been stationed due to the events of previous episodes.
Here are 3 separate examples
Captain Keyes death was displayed as a very emotional moment in the series.
It is absolutely disgusting how unbelievably lazy the storytelling is.

if you guys just copy the game and make it real, you will save at least half Halo fans.😢
This is quite honestly the worst video game adaptation I've ever seen. Seriously I tried to give this show a chance...AGAIN. I'm incredibly disappointed.
Man what would make this episode feel like it was about halo, ahhhh spartans in their armor...
Absolute garbage... Nothing about this series is Halo. Not the Spartans, not the story, not even the gd audio of anything is correct. If you wanted to make your own story with your own characters, why use the name of Halo to do so. Everyone involved with this dumpster fire of a show should be ashamed and ostracized from the industry.
Oh you mad mad
@@wowbucket Ahem.
Deff a step in the right direction Paramount... was a very good episode...
Horrible the writing was terrible and downplayed the importance of reach to nothing
you realize that this episode was only the very start of Reach battle correct?..
Do you also realize before bungie retconted it the majority of Reach few in a few hours not a month
At least is not going to fall in a few days like it was originally written by Bungie
@@detroitmade6I'd say the retconn was an improvement over the book. Reach was literally a flagship planet for the UNSC, to have it fall with hours can lead to very anticlimactic feelings
@@k1ng_BL0C the games is was retconned it. In which it was a good thing
This is sooooo bad
Why?
The acting in this show was horrible.
