I didn't like this album at first... but then it grew on me. OH did it grow on me. I've been listening to it every morning and evening on the train to work, and I have to say the really know how to write catchy hooks, even for a band that has been playing breakdowns and heavy riffs for so long. My favorites are probably What You Need, Avalanche, Blasphemy, and Throne. Thought I would be disappointed, but it turns out I wasn't.
Metallica and Bring me the horizon album popularity comparison: Kill em all = Count your blessings Ride the lightning = Suicide season Master of Puppets = There is a hell The black album = Sempiternal Load = That's the Spirit
This is exactly what they were talking about. Yes they knew the album wouldn't be everyone's favourite thing but they did what THEY wanted to do. If people are true fans they'll support BMTH no matter what they decide to produce. That's the spirit is an important album to them, Oli especially, and it deserves to be respected.
Vegadonis I know but i was really hoping for just 1 killer really heavy song haha :) Of course they should play what they want to, i'm still keeping my hopes up for some future song with a little more kick to them :D
6:47 "Uri Geller, he's gotta be evil..." It's 4 a.m. in my country, I'm sitting in my room alone watching this, and I couldn't help laughing out loud when I heard that comment! Awesome! :)
4killerCurtis I'd agree on Throne, Happy Song, and True Friends but Doomed I really don't like. I'm pretty much in the same camp as you when it comes to the rest of the album. There are a few songs that I like but a lot of it just isn't for me - not bad - just not my style
Did anybody notice how Matt and Oli look at each other at the end of the infamous pee incident in the Wikipedia Fact or Fiction video? Ironically the comments section is removed from that video.
I really do enjoy the album, I have nothing else like it in my music library. Not a fan of pop but the lyrics on thats the spirit are still great. I'm not gonna complain about the lack of heavier songs, but the drums were kinda lacking a bit. I say that because I like their drummer, he's quite good.
Love this Album! Metalheads have to stop talking about BMTH! They are going away from metal, accept it and stop hating on them since they are no longer a part of your domain.
What I would like is a heavier instrumental side, with a lot of screaming mixed with melodic sides. And maybe a couple straight scream tracks and a couple ballads. Nice and equal.
As a fan of hard rock/metal for over 30 years let me sum up what happened: band starts out hungry and first few albums are raw af. Band finds their "true sound" settles down and records a few more solid releases. Band "goes in a new direction", loses their original fan base - probably rotates out/in a few members and then goes on "hiatus". Band returns with new release which is marketed as "a return to our true sound". Did I miss anything?
The main comment. "Those songs will always be there and we will play em'". They can progress and write how they feel to, strengthen his voice to produce better screams with proper technique to enhance suicide season tracks or learn better breathing for there is a hell.
I loved count your blessings and i love thats the spirit. Theyve changed no doubt but whatever happens ill still love them. Suicide season was epic but this ones not as bad as u guys are saying you know
I love their older albums, but the newest one is still amazing, mainstream or not, it's great. Not that i'm saying i'd listen to it over the last few albums.
Since Oli is pretty much the only one who talks here so did I remember that I have never heard Matt Kean talk before in a interview. Shame really that it was just Oli speaking..
+Nippena Shallow lyrics and constant guitar wanking? Sometimes when I'm in the mood maybe but most days I'd take Sempiternal and That's The Spirit over it.
I absolutely loved this album. everyone keeps talking about suicide squad and how it needs to have more growling and screaming and heavier sound. we've moved on! just accept it. sempiternal was legendary and That's the Spirit is just as good maybe even better. Avalanche is a legendary track and so was Sleepwalking from then. BMTH has calmed down a bit and that's okay. the talent in this music is better than anything I've ever seen. we don't need so much of that pure growling and screaming. that's what other bands are for. BMTH is on a new level now and the other fans should either shut up or just accept it
Suicide Season* you dumb f*ck! Look if you're going to rant about the true fans of 'Bring Me' loving and missing there older albums styles then at least learn the fucking albums name! I swear to god ever since 'Bring Me' had realized Sempiternal, fan girls/boy's (I'm not sexist) have flooded in and have tried to mix with older fans and act like they know everything about BMTH. It annoys me how people like you come along to rant about the older fans who liked the heavier stuff and claim to be a fan however, you don't even know what the albums name was. Suicide Squad? Really? 😂😒
love the new songs but i hate how they say they're not into metal and thats why they wrote this new album...clearly they did it for popularity and money...stop faking it BMTH. love em to death tho
It is BMTH it just has more meaning. Just because there's no screaming in it doesn't mean it's not BMTH. If you haven't noticed or known yet they're the kind of band that likes to experiment with their sound. They don't want to just have the same kind of sound throughout their entire career. They like to mix up their sound. You don't have to be an asshole just because they don't have the same sound as their old music.
this is definitly not the band they were 4 years before ... i love all their stuff and i think sempiternal was great but this is just shit ... they have so much potential with oli ... he is such a good screamer but there are just Songs in the new Album i wouldnt be surprised to hear in a fucking Elevator when i go to the Supermarket ... thats so sad
I think Oli goes on an atheist rant every time he does an interview. Like seriously dude no one cares. Believe what you want. But think of something else to talk about
+Rafy Martinez (Eatinpancakes) I'm not a Christian or anything of that's what your implying but to just sit there and blast on religion in every interview is just boring to me
+Sam Jimenez you do know that he was just basically answering a question right? and they were mainly talking about the album, and we all know that all their albums are influenced and made because of his beliefs. so what do you expect him to talk about if the album itself is basically about it?
+Kimberly Buenobiscarra well it seems to me that in a lot of interviews he starts bashing religion, maybe it's Cus he writes a lot of songs about atheism and anti religion. It feels like a topic that he's touched up upon for the last 3 Albums and its boring now
Came to hear them say they sold out and didn't truly understand why they didn't touch on that. "It's not a pop record" Please BMTH have sold out as bad as All That Remains. Bands like BMTH have a direct hand in killing rock and metal. Disband please?
+John Staus It's called artistic exploration. You can sit and pout about how they're not "heavy enough" for your taste, but saying they "sold out" is just bull crap. If you want to listen to old them, do it. Don't complain about who they are now though because that just reflects badly on how conceded the hardcore fan base is
James Martin funny thing is im not a hardcore fan. I'm not into them really at all. I just hate how bands sellout for more fame. Shouldn't be about fame or money. Do it for the music! Btw way, referring to them as "artists" now is a clear sign they sold out
John Staus whats your preferred term for people who make music? Because last time I checked music classified as an art, thus making them said "artists". And even then considering their fan base has all but give them hell for their choices in music, I'd say they're clearly not trying to please anybody with their music.
I hope sempiternals style comes back for some of the next album. every album is different huh. well let's hope the next one isn't 13 songs of "follow you"
The album is brilliant. Yes, It's not like there older stuff but it's still well written, and put together fantastically.
I can't agree more
HOLY SHIT LESS THAN 5 SECONDS INTO THE INTERVIEW AND OLI HAS MANAGED TO SAY 'YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN' HES GOING TO RECEIVE THESE HANDS
Thats so true XD
Why is everyone saying they turned into a pop band? They sound nothing like pop music
parkjimblessed here we are in 2019 medicine and mother tongue just released (still love then though)
@@MrElvisDudenow they even released Post Human : Suvival Horror
Which metalcore,rock, hardcore album XD
Here we have AmEN, that slaps haaard😅
Here we have Kool-Aid, it's such a banger
I honestly liked the album. They grew up
they were always mature, you don't need to make a poppy record to "grow up". and they are my 2 favorite band and i do like this album
Matt (Kean, not Nicholls) looks so spaced out the whole time. Really looking forward to seeing these guys in September.
somebody needs to ask about the time oli sang happy song drunk in an interveiw xD
Jordan is wearing Jordan's hehe ....i'll leave now
Some illuminati shit lol
im inlove with their new sound. they never fail to impress me 😍😍
I didn't like this album at first... but then it grew on me. OH did it grow on me. I've been listening to it every morning and evening on the train to work, and I have to say the really know how to write catchy hooks, even for a band that has been playing breakdowns and heavy riffs for so long. Lol 4:34-4:40 Matt probably wants to scratch his crotch but realised he's on camera.
1:43 he did
This album is one of the best albums I've heard in years!
+bob steve ayyyy borrusia dortmund
+DiabloMan101 You must not have ears then.
I never listened to their old stuff, but the new album is reallllly good rock. Throne and What You Need are great.
Yes. Their old albums are amazing and 'That's The Spirit' isn't like the other albums but it's still great
Metallica and Bring me the horizon album popularity comparison:
Kill em all = Count your blessings
Ride the lightning = Suicide season
Master of Puppets = There is a hell
The black album = Sempiternal
Load = That's the Spirit
What about and justice for all
Matt, smol beans, why aren't you talking :(
+Sanuli Buddhipala that is all i was thinking the whole time
same here, I mean he never talks anymore
itsrainingrainbows lmao true
Do yk why he doesn't
This is exactly what they were talking about. Yes they knew the album wouldn't be everyone's favourite thing but they did what THEY wanted to do. If people are true fans they'll support BMTH no matter what they decide to produce. That's the spirit is an important album to them, Oli especially, and it deserves to be respected.
Those couches look so uncomfortable.
Lmao they all look so bored
+Tom Green I would be bored too, watching my singer sit there and talk for 9 minutes.
kirk graupe Thanks
Matt nicholes at 2:30 - 2:40 haha
+Tom Green Bored of 12 year olds complaining about how its "not heavy enough"
+James Martin lol
I still love the album but my favorite albums from them are There is a hell and Sempiternal
yes I'm a pop stan too get over it
Really wish they would have some songs heavier than Happy Song :(
+ActuallyWacky That's what they have other albums for. Like he said, they can play any old song they want, if they please to.
Vegadonis I know but i was really hoping for just 1 killer really heavy song haha :) Of course they should play what they want to, i'm still keeping my hopes up for some future song with a little more kick to them :D
+ActuallyWacky This is pretty much a pop album though, I never expected a heavier song
@@JordansGameRoom it's called "Rock music"
Not pop
Has anyone ever heard Matt Kean speak? I have never heard him before like holy shit
Just found a vid. Said one thing
matt kean didn’t move this is terrifying
They even dress well now, especially matt kean
6:47 "Uri Geller, he's gotta be evil..."
It's 4 a.m. in my country, I'm sitting in my room alone watching this, and I couldn't help laughing out loud when I heard that comment! Awesome! :)
That’s The Spirit is great, really good
Throne is definitely my favorite song on the album
4killerCurtis I'd agree on Throne, Happy Song, and True Friends but Doomed I really don't like. I'm pretty much in the same camp as you when it comes to the rest of the album. There are a few songs that I like but a lot of it just isn't for me - not bad - just not my style
+John Casper I'm the exact same man, it's strange. You should check out the new Chvrches album.
Did anybody notice how Matt and Oli look at each other at the end of the infamous pee incident in the Wikipedia Fact or Fiction video? Ironically the comments section is removed from that video.
+Brian Taylor lol yeah I noticed that
I really do enjoy the album, I have nothing else like it in my music library. Not a fan of pop but the lyrics on thats the spirit are still great. I'm not gonna complain about the lack of heavier songs, but the drums were kinda lacking a bit. I say that because I like their drummer, he's quite good.
emalia is exactly me picking at the arm of the couch
Love this Album! Metalheads have to stop talking about BMTH! They are going away from metal, accept it and stop hating on them since they are no longer a part of your domain.
QOTD- will matt K ever fully answer a question
i hope their next album will be a bit more havier and have that metal aura back👍
"Y'know what i mean?"
+Diako all i hear when oli speaks :')
Blasphemy should be played live more

Jordan with the Jordans!!
I loved count your blessings and i love thats the spirit. Theyve changed no doubt but whatever happens ill still love them. Suicide season was epic but this ones not as bad as u guys are saying you know
Kean didnt even want to be there
I love their older albums, but the newest one is still amazing, mainstream or not, it's great. Not that i'm saying i'd listen to it over the last few albums.
Do a Wikipedia Fact or Fiction with the band! :D
Since Oli is pretty much the only one who talks here so did I remember that I have never heard Matt Kean talk before in a interview. Shame really that it was just Oli speaking..
I literally just found a vid where Matt talks. First time I've ever heard his voice
People getting butt hurt - oli sykes 2016 xD
I'm not saying the album is bad, i love it but. I wonder if anyone got bored, like from playing songs with so much energy to softer songs ?
I guess you can't have album of the year twice in a row. Stray From The Path take Album of the year for me so far.
Stay from who?
Why does he reminds me of Liam Gallagher when he speaks?
Manu I think they’re from the same part of England. That and they both cuss a lot lol
Vegan is the most dashing during this era and he just keeps aging like fine wine
i love this band ;3 good work bmth keep going forward
This album is fucking shit. Count your blessings for life.
I'm with you man!
+Nippena Shallow lyrics and constant guitar wanking? Sometimes when I'm in the mood maybe but most days I'd take Sempiternal and That's The Spirit over it.
+Jooltville I also agree that's the spirit and semp have a lot more meaning but count your blessings and suicide season are still my favourites
FANBOYYYY
Ha
am I the only one who doesn't find the album that good?
Yeah
@DiabloMan101 oh yeah and I guess super colluder is your favorite album, right? Come on I hope you are ironic
