I'd say it's from the early 1990's or later even, yet better than the Studio One 50th anniversary concert...lovely tune... So sad that Derrick's original output with The Crystalites, some of the best rocksteady ever, is so hard to track down and is still totally underrated.
The original single release is from '67, obviously this performance is from the 21st century! the B&W and added distortions are just for effect! love to see it though!
I guess it is from 1967, because: -Derrick looks quite young. -The band is wearing authentic 60's suits. -The song is much faster than on the Island record which was released for the european market only. -The steel guitar sounds like an original rock'n'roll steel guitar...
i see a newer Ampeg bass cabinet - not old style.... keyboards look reasonably recent (DX-7 on top is 20+ years old though), and the mix sounds modern.
I hope you did not take my comment for serious... Just look at the clothes of the keyborder... 60's suit? ;-) I guess it is obvious that this video is not older than 5, maybe 8 years.
