First time trying this soup base and have to say it came out fantastic! I'm not Vietnamese but we eat at a great Pho restaurant often and it compared well.
If I only want to make 2 bowls of soup, around 3 cups of water, how much soup base should I use? The recipe here is for two GALLONS of water--too much for me to make at once.
At 2:01 you can see two of the product containers, but they seem to be two different versions. One is 300g, the other is 283g. And I assume they have different instructions as well? The one I bought is the 283g product, and says to par-boil/blanch the meat then discard the water before proceeding with the spice bag, aromatics, etc. That step isn’t shown here, and also in my mind that kinda defeats the purpose of marinating the meat with some of the soup base as shown at 0:20? Gonna make it and guess cross my fingers it comes out okay.
There are many ways to prepare Pho. You can follow this video or use the directions on the jar. We export this product to many countries. The 300g jar is for exporting to Vietnam and the 283g (10 oz) is the US version.

I bought the large by mistake, thinking I could use it many times over a long period of time. But it only came with a one time use spice packet

Try finding it in your local Asian market. I will tell you it's definitely not your regular "beef bouillon"😑
