    Reminds me of all the leaky caps in the sony camcorders. It also reminds me of the SBX modules. I changed a ton of those back in the day. Good fix!

      You mean the mts module on the tv right. Lost sound just noise or distortion. Changed hundreds of those. I actually have a new one.

    excellent @12voltvids I have a Mitsubishi model HS-U780 and I am going to maintain it, thank you very much for the video. By the way, in your experience, what is the best deck (make and model)? taking into account output quality and reliability.

    Since you been putting all these SVHS videos I had to go look at my JVC HR-S6900U SVHS machine to see if it had that board in it that the last two videos had. Did not see anything like it.
    I did get the tape out of it, but the loading mech is jammed. Kind of lost interest in it since I got this Phillips DVDR3475/37 DVD recorder. $20 with remote, purchase inspired by your recorder videos. No digital tuner, and only S-video and composite video inputs. HDMI output gives great picture on DVD, but lack of high resolution input leaves it lacking.

    I have been using my JVC VHS/DVD combo unit, HR-XVC26U, manufactured July 2004, for dubbing home video standard VHS to my Phillips DVD recorder. Are you saying that my JVC HR-S6900U SVHS machine will give better picture on standard VHS than the afore mentioned newer one?

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  3 роки тому

      No, standard VHS can not be improved by playing on svhs deck but svhs tapes look much better.

      @@12voltvids I have the SVHS machine, but no recordings. May be be time to find someone with a use for it. I have the DVD recorder, or the Roxio VHS to DVD usb dongle and software for PC, but I think I liked the interlace conversion of the dedicated recorder better. What I really want is a better high resolution digital recorder that you don't have to rent from the cable company.

      @@12voltvids Can you save copies of your saved video on a thumb drive, or is it limited to the onboard hard drive? I turned in my dvr box and lost everything I recorded. The telecommunications companies have no interest in it's customers recording content and archiving a library. They want to charge us every time we watch a program, pay a subscription, and bombard us with adds.

      @@zulumax1 I can record anything I can watch on my PC in full HD. I use a haupoague hdpvr capture box and use the component output from my cable box to feed it to the capture box. It turns out MP4 Videos that are as good as the original. I store everything on removable hard drives and I can easily edit out commercials in a 1 hour show in about 6 minutes after I record it. I can save the edited programs onto dvd disks encoded as avchd and get an hour or more of HD quality on a standard dvd-r that plays in HD on a BluRay player. This is far more economical than using expensive BluRay disks. Many BluRay dvd players especially Sony will play avchd disks.
