    Esta música me recuerda una tarde inolvidable en Bucarest. Un linda reunión con una orquesta de violines nos servía de fondo. Ah! Qué tiempos...

    that's funny, the angle of the camera and the lighting making the violin to look like string-less!hehe.. I was surprised in a moment that the guy is playing with a string-less violin! doesn't it look odd though? as for the maestro, I would kiss his hands. he is absolutely stunning. the sound the he makes is as sweet as chocolate! :-)

    I can't think as fast as this guy can play - normally I have no problem hearing every note. You can see why Heifetz stated categorically that the greatest violinist ever was Dinicu (of Hora Staccato fame)

    My favorite is Antal Kocze. If you can find "Gypsy Songs" on an old 10" LP (Westminster WL3001), you'll never forget it. It includes the fatal "Sad Sunday" and 4 others, one of which is the Romanian "Hora" that is spellbinding. What a piece of vinyl. Inherited from my Hungarian dad.

    I thought the term tzigane originated from the rivers Tzi and Gang in India, between which gypsies (Roma?) come from?

    This man is a famous Hungarian Gypsy, speaks Hungarian. There are several Gypsy languages: Romani, eg.Romani-Lovari and many other dialects are part of the Indo-German family of languages.

    Thank you again, you seem to know a lot about the languages....but what about the music? There is no other people on earth who is better to play music then the gypsy people. They have the feeling and the skill like nobody else. It is wonderful. I guess the Hungarian people didn´t had they musical cultur intact if there where no gypsy people around. But this is my personal opinion.

  • @nicanora100
    @nicanora100 13 років тому

    No, there is not a "Gypsy language". The language of the Romanies, is Romany. It derives from the Sanskrit of India. Beside that, they just pick up whatever languages may be useful from the road. I recommend you read George Henry Borrow who was an English writer who over the course of his wanderings developed a close affinity with the Romani people of Europe.
