    For every girl with actual dark circles...we needed this content. Not just the review but the mini-rants about supposedly “full coverage” concealers. I’m really here for the irrational level of anger towards the Maybelline age rewind as well...I’ve harboured a quiet rage about it for years 😂

      Maybelline age rewind is like a modern scam istg😫😫 they market them for dark circle like they have even an ounce of pigment in it. Crease easily, too sheer, annoying & messy applicator like I want to cover my undereye area not my cheeks too. Hate it with burning passion🙃

I started using elf nourishing oil under my eyes (only a very very small amt, I learned this from Robert Welsh - makeup artist on UA-cam). I always get creases underneath my eyes too! So frustrating. After applying my concealer though, I slightly go over those lines with a Q-tip to remove the excess concealer so it is bound to crease less, and of course I always add a translucent powder to set it. This trick does wonders for me.

      Linda I have waisted sooooo much $ on concealers and setting powder... I even broke down and bought the Pat McGrath under eye powder ( $45 Canadian ) thinking it would help and boy was I wrong 😔... finally when I was in the drug store 2 weeks ago talking to the girl at the cosmetic counter she suggested I try my color corrector and just foundation. Its much better on my eyes.. still not perfect but better then any concealer combination I've tried.

      Same problem here. I usually skip concealer. I even tried colour correcting. I find the more product the worse it looks. And I have had this issue even as a teen. I find concealer just draws more attention so I stick to just foundation as well. I will say so far mac pro longwear concealer gives me the best results when I do decide to use concealer.

    I love using some of these, especially for those days when I'm in a hurry but just want a little coverage under my eyes, a lot of these do a great job for that... most of these for me (with the exception of the L'oreal one) require color correcting or multiple layers to get the desired coverage I like. Flower actually makes a concealer that is really really good (especially for brightening) and it's called "Light Illusion"... I get mine in the shade light since the undertone works well for me with that one and it does a great job at working with other concealers if I can't do my normal routine but still want to get coverage really quickly. Really enjoy your videos and I get excited when you post new ones; thank you Alex. Keep doing your thing boo!

    • @EmmaVB82
      @EmmaVB82 4 роки тому +2

      Ugh yes, I hate that Age Rewind shit! I bought 2 because they were on sale, and all my research from reading and watching reviews and talking to friends suggested I was going to love it (huge dark undereye circles, mostly because my undereyes are so sunken and my skin is so pale & cool toned that I end up looking bruised... this has been a thing my whole life, though definitely more so now I’m in my late 30s, and now there are lines to contend with as well! Fillers are definitely on my wish list post-pandemic...). I did not love it. That applicator is so terrible in both shape and size so there’s just no good way to apply the right amount in the right places, and the formulation did very little for my dark circles, just mega-amplified all the lines. I looked terrible and had to take my make up off and start again. I tried it one other time just to be sure, and no. I need to donate that still-sealed one. Bah.

    I have the loreal infallible concealer and it is my favourite full coverage concealer because it completely covers my dark circles (you have to wait a few seconds and then blend it out to get that full coverage). I have the elf hydrating camo satin finish concealer and It honestly doesn't compare to the loreal infallible because it doesn't completely cover my dark circles and it also doesn't blend the greatest either. If you're someone who wants to cover dark circles, the loreal infallible concealer is the best choice for you :)

    CATRICE liquid camouflage. Shades are awful here maybe in the US you'll have more, but 020 was fine. Also they have a dropper one that's so thin but really nice.

    I have a makeup hack that several of my friends, in their 50’s, swear by for concealer settling in lines and creases under the eyes and other places on their face. They apply Mac Paint Pot on those spots after primer and before any other makeup. I can Not buy any more makeup this month, probably all summer 😬 so I can’t say if this hack works. I’d love to know if you have tried it, or will try it, and how it works for you

      I use the Maybelline Brightener shade over a tiny amount of the Becca undereye brightening corrector and Neutralizer for any areas on the face. I try not to powder/set it either as that adds a heaviness and cake-like look. I just got a tiny sample of Laura Mercier Secret Blurring powder (compact, not loose), and also need to try a couple of Elf powders: the loose Halo Glow and the Beautifully Bare sheer tint finishing powder in the sliver compact. I'm looking to cover blue veins under my eyes which I've always had, lighten the inner corner of my eyes/neutralize discoloration, and not emphasize any lines in the area at age 50. Lots of trial and error in finding the perfect combination!

      Barbra I think the Maybelline Age Rewind is the best, for my undereye situation. I own around 30 concealers at every price point & always go back to Maybelline. Since I’m older (54) My biggest problem is getting concealer worked into the skin & age rewind practically blends itself. I do like the ELF hydrating one for maybe a cut crease or eyelid coverage. Stay TF away from the reg ELF Camo Concealer. It is sooooo freakin thick & very hard to blend. Causes me to break out-even at my age!!

    I have fine lines under my eyes and I usually use a bit of concealer and after I blend it in, I pull my eye down a bit so I get rid of the creases and bake. I don't get a lot of creasing throughout the day. I'm guessing because I bake in the actual creases..? I just dust away a bit of the powder after a few minutes bc I mostly just blend it in. Anyway that works for me. I either use the L'oreal infallible concealer or the L'oreal perfect match concealer and bake with a setting or baking powder

    damn, this is the first time in my life that I've ever watched a dark circle concealer video where someone had dark circles like my own. when I was in 8th grade I bought that Maybelline age rewind bullshit and it didn't do shit for me. I then started buying the NYX $5 concealer but it left a gray cast under my eyes and left me looking a little cakey. tartes shape tape made me feel like I was putting layers of makeup under my eyes and also left a gray cast for me. I still haven't found my perfect concealer. to see someone talk about that annoying shit and review concealers this well has been a struggle to find until now. I'm honestly so glad this video popped up on my home page.
