AT 6:15, you mention that hover units wouln't be detected by sonar. This is incorrect: hover units WILL be spotted by sonar. Also transports that "land" on a water surface will also be detected. I tested it with auroras and a transport in a replay (5618132). The rest is spot on!
yep... and ML does have stealth field with range as wide as it laser range. and cybran t3 sonar is weird, it has two stealth ranges, one for submerged and one for surfaced things. ( i have a video somewhere showing it) didn't know that cybran t3 scout does not consume power, wtf D: also to be able to see (vision radius) underwater you need to get wet: only way to see stealth unit under water is OMNI OR to have a ship or a submerged unit like wagner (not sure about uef/cyb engies, but probably they will not see thing) so if you want to kill stealth cyb ACU under water you will need to bring some ship or t3 air scout that have omni. also Aeon eye can see anything afaik, including cloaked ACU underwater while cybran eye can't even see moles bumping into it also when GC has only his legs in the water you usually still need sonar to see it D:
thanks for the comments, didn't realize some things are so stupid. while i somewhat accept that separate water areas are still covered by the same sonar because it may be difficult to implement separate sonar regions for separate water areas, it is a major disappointment that sonar detects hover units with no water contact. hover tanks don't even leave waves on the surface. this is so counterintuitive and it also feels so easy to fix that i never imagined it. EQUILIBRIUM PLS and ML has an actual stealth field which we just don't see because it's identical with the laser range? that's ridiculous, i have never gotten attacked by an entire stealthed army led by a spider, it was always just the spider or support units so far apart from it that it didn't actually hide the formation. just like the gun acu comparison chart, this is a video i'll reupload without the errors at some point when i'm running out of video topics. until then people please upvote theplasmawolf and RA_ZLO so everyone sees their remarks
hover units do make waves in the game, just look closely :) and the ML stealth field has been implemented like 2 years ago, because they were too easily spotted by support unit. You can often see an ML being supported by armies of flak for exemple.
@@theviewer5595 Either FAF took out the stealth field completely or toned it down to a shorter range because I've never seen it hide any other unit other than itself.
I really love the subtleties of the intelligence and counter intel systems in faf. I really am somewhat disappointed that planetary annihilation never had anything close to the complexities with their units like this (to my knowledge at least). Thanks for this tutorial!

@@ghost101049 no no no , you miss understood me . You are correct , all 3t scout have omni sensor , and that why i said that cybran players have to keep that in mind cuz cybrans have a lot of different invisibility abilities
It does consume like 10000 power instantly to change/establish new target, so that might've had something to do with it. If you didn't have that power, it wouldn't work.
Build factories, build mantis+medusa, blindfold yourself and attack-move to the enemy base. Then halfway through the game take the blindfold off and send a few jesters or torpedo bombers or something to the ACU. Haha no don't do that

Yes monkeylord actually has stealth field, ive used it to sneak in some bricks with it a couple times and my friend didnt see anything coming :D

This was a real eye opener.
Hold up. There's an inside down half circle?! Really?! Since when? I've never noticed or seen one. @4:05

If you have a cloaked cybran ACU with laser, and the enemy only has normal radar, not omni. Does the enemy just see nothing - just a floating laser ?
Exactly.
At least you can ground fire it

the notification about your comment surprised me, i forgot this video exists
Yeah, I noticed it was rather old. I've been going through a few of your tutorial videos, and wanted to check this one out.
thanks for the video man!
My pleasure :-) maybe time for a new video on this topic soon™
Oh I've always thought Moles had stealth, not cloak.
btw Cybran players have to remember that 3t scout have omni sensor .
Is it only Cybran T3 air scout that has that? None of the others do? I'm a bit of a FAF noob.

Now I'm curious if every faction has a visual sensor building... Eh I can figure it out myself.
Also the T3 Cybran Spy plane has Sonar
is it possible to rebind moving the camera from the arrow keys to something else?
How can you make the eye work? It wasn't working for me in multiplayer
It does consume like 10000 power instantly to change/establish new target, so that might've had something to do with it. If you didn't have that power, it wouldn't work.
You need energy storage for it to work. Just like Commander needs it for the charged gun.
Does putting a mobile stealth generator in some of the larger transports (exp units) make the exp unit have stealth?
What’s an exp unit transport?

So, stealth and cloak are not the same. Correct?
Stealth: undetectable by radar
Cloak: invisible to optic sensors
Some units have both!

huh, I always thought once you took cloak on the Cybran acu you gave up the stealth.
nah, the cybran ACU's cloak upgrade keeps it hidden from default radar, unless the cybran powerstalls or the cloak bugs out.
@@Penemue What is the difference between stealth and cloak? In german it is the same word. One of it is not visible and the other not on the radar?
