Jason, looks like you are having fun on your trip. Keep up the great videos.
Given I'm researching this market, your video was downright helpful. Thanks for taking the time to put this out there.
Good video. I have an older version of the Vair 400 that I bought in 2014 for my Jeep JKU. I have since replaced the Jeep with a 2016 Subaru Outback but still carry and use the Vair 400 for going off-road and over sand and it works great. Very reliable and can air up all four tires in less than 10 minutes. It has helped me with two flat tires where I was able to do roadside tire patching and be back on the road without needing to use the spare.
I just purchased this unit and love it. Great quality.
Really been happy with mine so far too. (Only had it for about a month though lol). I was surprised how quickly it filled the tires up though, was impressed. Thanks for sharing sir, have fun out there - Shane
Hi, I bought the same model last fall ... it's an excellent compressor and fairly quiet too. Normally, on my RV, the tires are set at 60 psi on the front and 80 on the back. With this compressor's ability, I'll be able to start deflating for those boondocking roads.
Dude, you sold me on it. I'll pick one up for black Friday. Thanks for the very informative video!
Havent tried the air down yet. Been researching air up options though. I have seen the viair advertized and it is one I have been considering. Thanks for the video Jason.
I've had that model going on 6 years for trips to Oregon Dunes and other places. Good compressor and fast inflations.
Thanks for the suggestion, going to look into getting one.
The Lil' Compressor did a Good Job re-airing your tires. Not Bad at All.
Nice piece of kit, easy to hook up!
A video with NO dogs or drone footage?!?!? It's like we don't even know you anymore. Haha! Seriously, that looks like a great system and can't wait to hear how you did in The Canyon of Hell.
Thanks!
I’m familiar with the small, portable air compressors and I would advise anyone to avoid the cheap, throw-away versions that you find in the big-box store. This is one of those accessories that may very well save you a long walk or one heck of a bill for a service call. Buy a good one and some tire sealer.
Echo above: No Dogs?....
Anyway, good to see you again!
Good video. I might buy.
Cool. I picked up one similar to that one and I'm looking forward to using it this summer.
Cool
I have the same compressor, works great for me too. I have 35" tires on a diesel that I run over 60 psi when towing. I take them down to 25 psi in the sand, and it takes about 3 to 4 mins a tire. I use deflaters on the front side to speed things up there. Don't take this the wrong way, but the videos aren't as good without the dogs.... be well and keep up the great work. The equipment reviews are a nice augmentation to the series.
Wow 60psi? My factory PSI is 36 but since I moved up in tire size I run street around 40F/42R which turned out to be the best for me doing the chalk test. Offroading my go to general PSI is 20.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It has been 5 years since you made this video, still happy with this and are you still using this compressor?
Good deal I'll get one for my daughter's car.. Don't see your side kicks (dogs).. Thx for the info
3 minutes isn’t bad.
Great video. I also have the Viair, and am in the midst of my first trip with it as I write this. Quick question... I also have the Road Shower, and am curious about how you have yours mounted. From the quick clip I can’t seem to orient myself to the your install. Can you clarify how you’ve got it mounted? Also, I quick gear review of the shower would be welcomed, at least by me!
Best of luck, and carry on!
When people test things like air compressors, it would be good to know "WHY?" they chose the Viair versus the other two major players, ARB and Smittybilt? So, for example, if all 3 had a version that was $250, I would want to know, "Well, for $250, the Viair automatically shuts off when you reach the psi you want." or "The Smittybilt can be plugged into a wall outlet, if you wanted to use it at home, without taking it out to your vehicle or if you were in your garage and it would just be easier to plug it into the wall, versus lifting the hood, connecting it, running the vehicle, etc.
Can you take the tire pressure when you deflate tires? Could this replace the ARB quick release pressure kit?
Are there any videos to get an idea of the sound the compressor makes. Every video I have tried to watch mutes the compressor sound
I know this video is old, but... Jason, what size tires were you running? The time to fill is kinda meaningless unless we know how much air you are working with. Your tires look like about 285/75R16 (32.8" x 11.2").
Anyway, I have found that 50% of highway PSI is the best starting point for most situations where I drive.
Holy crap 60psi? It’s that a spare tire rating psi? Great video btw
jeffraymma2 it’s a 3/4 ton. Typical tire pressure for those is 60-80 psi
How is it holding up so far ? Would you buy it again ? And how is air hose quality ?
Where;s wheeler and Daisy??????
We gotta talk about getting you some sponcers
I wonder if that could be hardwired inside to a bed toolbox
Smith hard plumb & wire it with a reservoir tank and you could run an impact gun
Can you air all 4 tires without letting it rest?
Yes you can.
Jason
Road Shower?! Hmmmmmmmm........!
