How to use FilmConvert Nitrate and Color Grade with Cineon Log

- Here is my overview of Filmconvert Nitrate, a brilliant film emulation plugin that gives you an authentic filmic look. You can now work with Cineon Log to create some unique looks for your footage. Cineon Log gives you the opportunity to grade with FilmConvert in a completely new way.
FilmConvert can help you to achieve the film look by emulating real work films stocks and grain.
For this video, I filmed examples with the Sony A7iii and I shot in S-Log2 with S-Gamut.

@@nino8344 try the 600D / T3i camera pack and select the Technicolor profile
Just started using FilmConvert Nitrate on DaVinci Resolve with my Canon 5DMkIV with the C-Log upgrade. Just wanted to make sure that I don't need to convert the log to Rec709, or anything else, before applying FilmConvert? The first few attempts look a bit too contrasty. Thanks!
@@bioluminantmedia hi there, that's correct - FilmConvert will convert your Log footage to REC709 by default, so don't do any conversion before you apply FilmConvert, or you'll double-up on the contrast adjustment

Thank you for this very helpful video. Have you found a way to add grain to, let's say, a black background with white opening titles? Not sure what the workflow would look like. Cheers!
You are most welcome & I hope it helps! If I want to add grain to blank layer, I usually apply FilmConvert to an adjustment layer above the blank background. If it's a black background, you will perhaps need to adjust the size and strength of the grain to make it more visible. You could also try playing with the different blend modes until you find something that works for you. I hope that helps 👍

Plz tell me what model i choose in filmconvert nitrate while i have Canon 700d
If there isn't one for the 700D, maybe try the 600D / T3i camera pack and select the Technicolor profile as FilmConvert mentioned in another comment =] I hope that helps.
How will i install the plugin in davinci resolve
There should be installation instructions on the FilmCovert website specific for the system that you use =]
