Kathy Bates was a great casting choice for her role. They look very similar and Kathy really captures her gumption and kindness.
She was what you would call new money.😂😂😂
I've always thought the same thing. The scene in the life boat when she's trying to get them to go back and says "it's your men out there!" really shows how she didn't conform to the quiet, submissive woman stereotype of the day. Kathy did a great job.
Gumption is the perfect word to describe her ❤
I still think "Unsinkable" is a good title for her. She gave of what she had and always was in charge. We need more like her!
Indeed we do!
Wonderful woman. Very gutsy, and unselfish. We need more people like her.
Indeed we do!
@Design & more true but she was only trying help the people in the water at least she cared had a heart while noone else did no she was not obnoxiously evil but a true kind nice decent person
Amazing woman. Hollywood movies left out so much.
@Ken&Elaine Z better than being a conservative innit
@Serafina Calise I don't.
It’s amazing what an impact 1 life can make to the world. Everyone remembers the impact from evil lives, but rarely the good lives.
Candide
🎉💯
Everyone remembers the heroes. You're not special.
Never heard of heroes then? There's countless tales of good
I've never forgotten Unsinkable Molly Brown especially with Debbie Reynolds movie depicting her. Loved that movie.
Me too, first thing I thought of.
Not only the Debbie Reynolds film, but Kathy Bates in Titanic..Bates was perfect for the role!
@@sandrasanders706 Kathy's appearance was more robust like Molly's than Debbie Reynolds. Also she and JJ Brown weren't the only ones rejected by the Sacred 36 on Pennsylvania Avenue. They were only just one in many couples or people not accepted by that elusive wealthy group. She was much more educated and refined than the fictional Molly Brown. She wasn't even called Molly but Margaret like this documentary says.
I don't usually like musicals but this one was exceptionally good!
Yes, a movie loosely based on the life of MAGGIE Brown.
I've always loved Molly's story! You told it well! She's such a fascinating woman!
Thanks very much!!
@@ForgottenLives You're welcome!
Hello am Luke greetings
@@lukehanks2671 Hi Luke! Nice to meet you!
What an admirable woman who led such an exemplary life, i was really moved by her story, kindness and selflessness. Thank you for shining a light on this monumental woman!
Pls always include written transcript of the story to go along with the pictures for those of us who cant hear or have trouble concentrating or are easily distracted (ADHD) so as to not miss out on the details you have provided. Thank you and keep up the good content.
Wow - I knew she was an impressive woman, but holy shit!. This was an impressive woman. Glad to hear she died peacefully - she certainly deserved it.
She sure did! And she was great!
@@ForgottenLives I can see why they had Kathy Bates play her in Titanic. The younger versions of the two are remarkably similar. We need more women like this in the world. Quite the trailblazer.
Oh what a superb story @forgottenlives She was an amazing woman. A few years ago I went to the museum in Denver and I think you covered more than they did on the house tour. Great research and story. Thanks again.
Thanks Crime Reel for the great reccommendation!!!
@@ForgottenLives no problem 👍🙂
Molly's house still remains in Denver. It's a very interesting site to visit in Denver.
I'll be sure to go if i ever visit!
It’s a great site to visit. My great grandfather Albert Horswill was a crewman on Titanic and survived the wreck on lifeboat number one.
That's amazing
@Don Nix
I saw it two years ago. It’s an outstanding and fascinating tour.
Wow what a lady! Busy busy, wish I had her drive & motivation lol.
Thanks for sharing 🌟💖🌟
Thanks very much for the comment :D
What a personality! I'd love to sit and have a cup of tea with this gal.
Who wouldn't!
My father was awarded the French Legion of Honour about 4 years ago now for service in WW2 as a bomber command pilot and pathfinder. He's 97 in December. It was a great honour. What an amazing woman Molly was. Precious is her memory.
Sounds like he was a great man!
Bunny Mad
Please tell your Father, 'thank you for your service!'
Bunny Mad, my Dad was in Coastal Command as a bomber pilot during WWII, we are lucky to be here.
If my dad was alive he too would be 97.
Blessed Be Xxx 🙏🏻 ❤️
Bunny Mad
You are blessed to have such an amazing father💖

Thanks very much for the comment :D Will have more vids out each week!
An amazing lady. I have read that while she was in the lifeboat as the Titanic sank, she insisted that the boat go back to pick up some people in the water, who would certainly freeze within minutes. When told by the crewman commanding the lifeboat that the boat could take on no more people without danger of sinking, she tried to wrest the tiller from him and had to be forcibly restrained. I see that one person as of even date has given the presentation thumbs down, proving that no matter what, some people cannot be pleased.
I shouls have mentioned that too in the story! Seems i missed it out :/
In the movie, Kathy Bates’s character did something similar.
Forgotten Lives I can’t for the life of me understand how you missed this particular mythological, “heroic”, fairy tale. I mean, considering you both pulled your “information” out of the same asshole, one would think you would collaborate these exaggerated tall tales a little better.... As of now, there are 54 dislikes, with mine included. No matter what, people have the right to not “be pleased” after viewing this highly exaggerated video filled with misinformation and half truths mixed amongst genuine history. It’s almost like there is an agenda of some kind at play here, eh? No matter what, some people will just know too much about the history of Titanic, and it is indeed “pleasing” to voice dislike of this fantastical revisionist history. So if all you want to take from this video is “people cannot be pleased” for that measly number of dislikes, don’t feel defeated! As you see, I can be pleased and still find your video, the pinning of this comment and subsequent reply as insulting the basic intelligence of Titanic historians and millions more globally who have obviously spent more time than you have studying the history of the ship and the events surrounding the sinking. Don’t get me wrong, she was an extremely intelligent and interesting woman that absolutely deserves recognition and praise, I just ask it to be grounded in reality and intellectually honest... Why is that so hard? I really cannot comprehend why that’s so difficult to accomplish on so many Titanic channels. It’s like people would rather LIE and MISCONSTRUE than to simply just tell the TRUTH!
This is in the movie Titanic, along with a deleted scene from the movie
@@SparklingDaNi If you are unpleased with this presentation, I believe many viewers would suggest you put your money where your mouth is and produce your own documentary so viewers can learn the "true" story, instead of your rant, which teaches us nothing, except that you should probably change your name from Gentle Uterus to " Angry, Bitter, Argumentative Uterus"😆
What an absolute treasure that woman was! Kathy Bates playing her character is absolutely the right choice!
Awesome Video! Wow, what a Life! She didn't hold back, lol! What a incredible woman! Thanks for lettin Us no her story
I really enjoy the stories as well as your diction and voice. Like others I like listening at night as I find it soothing. I am a subscriber by way of Brief Case.

Me too! I really enjoy these historical features.
I love the story of Molly Brown Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
I had never heard of her, so thanks for sharing her extraordinary life, Great video,
Thanks!!
The is a movie musical based on Molly Brown's story, stars Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher's mum. It's fun if you like old movies.
How old are you that you’ve never heard of Molly Brown? You HAVE heard of the Titanic, right?
Lovely, sir. Touching and well done. Thank you.
Thanks for the great comment :D
Thank you so much for this video. I had no idea of the wonderful accomplishments and total unselfishness of Margaret Brown. My husband and I love the movie, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, because of the songs, dances, and actors in it. Margaret's life is so much more interesting than any fictional movie. I'm glad she was never snubbed by the elite social crowd in Denver. She certainly stands as a wonderful role model and inspiration for all women.
What a wonderful lady. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Fascinating story! She was a great woman with a good heart! Amazing work with the all video! Thank you Forgotten Lives.
Thanks very much for the continued support as usual :D

totally enjoyable amazing how little i knew about the famous "Molly Brown" :) I always work and listen never have the time to sit and read, i do stop to to look at the pics, for me it helps to see the face of the person you are talking about. love your channnel good luck.
Thanks for letting me know and for the support!
I truly believe this woman had faith in her God! Such an inspiration to us all!
She was an atheist
@@christinayates2496 Molly built the Catholic cathedral in Denver, CO so I doubt she was a non-believer.
Fred C. Wilson III why because she helped other people? We are all born atheist! I'm an atheist, someone's religion or faith has no bearing on whether I like, or would help them!
i do remember reading about her. thank you for every thing you do !!
Well done!! I thought I knew the real Margaret Brown. Great work. :)
Didn't realize she is buried right by where I grew up. Fascinating
I like images, more than I need titles. Still, another great story - you shine the light in the right places!
Thanks very much :D
@@ForgottenLives No - thank you!
I was thinking her name was a little familiar, and you let the story unfold, brilliantly - better than that film 'remember me'!
Stories like 'no prison could hold him', are fantastic, where they tie into other events, characters and crimes.
0:10 - Wait...I had no idea that the real Molly Brown was such an obviously beautiful woman.
What? 😂
I immensely enjoyed this video. I congratulate you for it, for your work, your clear presentation. Bravo and many, many thanks.
What a remarkable woman!! Thank you for sharing :-)
Thanks for listening!!
I had no idea that she did so much in her lifetime! Thank you for this. ❤️ Quite interesting.
That was fascinating. Thank you. I've been a fan of hers for years.
Wow...I never knew a lot of this. She was AMAZING!
love you bunches forgotten lives
Thanks very much :D
She truly was a formidable woman. James Cameron did her a huge disservice in the Titanic movie. Thank you so much for this upload, it's great to hear her true life story. I watch and listen to these stories so I'd love it if you would continue with the pictures along with the stories 😁
Thank you for the comment :)
Her spirit was unbreakable as well!! She was a wonderful and very accomplished Lady !! RIP Margaret
BLESS, COURAGEOUS, ONE OF A KIND. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH HER AND EVERYONE SHE HELD DEAR IN HER HEART. AMEN...
I enjoy your channel, I listen only while doing chores at home, very relaxing, interesting and educational, thank you from Nova Scotia.
Thanks for the upload 😁
Thanks for watching!
You mean she didn't dance and sing? LOL! Wonderful story you did a great job telling her story. Thank you.
WOW! I had no idea that she was responsible for helping to establish the juvenile court system! Before then, children, no matter how young, were thrown into adult prisons and forced to do backbreaking labor. She was a truly good person for continuing to help the poor, as she rose through the economic classes. Amazing person.
Honestly I like your videos because I don't have to keep checking back to see if I'm missing out on important information because of pictures or written things. I like what I hear I can't tell you if I like what I see because I rarely watch videos LOL I think you're doing a phenomenal job
Thanks very much!!
That's was really good she was an awesome lady I never knew the story. Just had heard the name. Well told by you really am enjoying your channel!

The story of Margaret Brown so far is one of my favorites. As I am new to this channel i have alot of catching up to do. I appreciate you bringing the true story of Margaret Brown to life. Thank you very much. Your narrations of these stories is incredible. I do watch as well as listen so l enjoy the photos as well.
Thank you so very much. I've watched 5 in a row, you're incredible ✌️💙
There was a really cool musical "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" that was made into a movie staring Debbie Reynolds.
I'm so glad you did this video! I've researched her quite a bit, I love her attitude and overall personality. I'm intrigued by her.
Is that so? If that’s the case, you should be able to make a list of all the exaggerated “facts”, ever so “cleverly”, mangled together with basic historical knowledge in an overt attempt of revising history
I loved the movie. Hearing this makes me understand Margret better thank you.
My pleasure!
Amazing Lady 💗💗💗
Love Molly Brown. She was always my Favorite character in Titanic.
Love the pictures Please keep posting.
Fascinating - what a wonderful example - thank you for sharing
Liked this video about Molly Brown, listened to it while doing paper work so am glad of no printing to read along with. My husband & I toured her Denver home, very nice. We've also toured the home in Falls River, Mass. of Lizzie Borden.
This was lovely! As a child, I went to a small church school in Denver. Next door to the school was a large old home that was said to have been owned at one time by this woman. I never knew about her till now. Thanks for enlightening me!
That's great! What a nice coincidence!
Thank-you for setting the record straight. I never liked the depiction of Mrs. Brown in Titanic, especially when the sailor in the life boat told her to shut up about wanting to rescue survivors. I never believed she’d let a man, like was shown in the movie, bully her into silence.
I prefer to think that if something like that had occurred, Mrs. Brown would’ve rallied those women by telling them it was their husbands and sons out there and that they’d throw that nasty tempered sailor out to get to their men.
Love this! I always wondered about her and never took the time to do the research. Thank you for sharing this information!
For the titles, I really like it more so than just the images. Thank you for what you do and I’m looking forward to the next Forgotten Lives
Thanks for the support and comment! I really appreciate it :D
What a wonderful, inspirational woman, truly a role model for future generations.
Thanks for telling the true story of Margaret Tobin Brown -- so much more interesting and moving than the Broadway myth. As an American cultural historian, I am glad to commend you for this, and for all your well researched and interestingly presented videos on individuals whose lives and stories deserve to be not forgotten, but remembered as a vital part of civilization's fascinating story.
Thank you! This was very interesting and enjoyable.
Great video, thanks again!
A live well-lived. Thanks for sharing the details of her life!
I like the images in your stories. I also appreciate your truth. Thank you for such great stories!
Great video! Wonderful pics and well done research! Thanks for all the hard work! Wow so man unsung heroes of the past...... maybe Bayer Rustin or adventurer Thor Heyerdahl would be interesting. But i know I will enjoy whomever you feature! And please keep the subtitles!!
Thanks very much!! Thanks for the suggestions!
Margaret Brown is someone who I actually heard about before. I honestly think she is the first ever since I started listening to your interesting channel. Forgotten Lives you do find some really "unknown" individuals. Thank you for all you do!💯👏👏😁 I do like the images. It's awesome to see what the people looked like because most of the time I never even heard of them.
I watch a lot of your videos and I get so caught up in the story, I sometimes forget to "like" the video. You have a very pleasant voice. Thank you for your work.
Thank you so much for telling these amazing stories ! You have such a lovely gift !
Glad you like them!
