    So I recently made the banana egg pancake, and used an immersion blender to mix the eggs and banana, I also used baking soda in my batter. It turned out pretty decent when had with maple syrup. Didn't puff up a lot though.

    For pewdiepie's recipe, you mentioned the veggie ground beef tasted like mushrooms. Some vegan/veggie brands make a more vegetable-y (?) ground beef, but for stuff like this I much prefer a more neutral tasting one. Impossible meat is the GOAT and you can find it most places, it's very similar to real ground beef.

    I make homemade peanut butter all the time, but I only use peanuts. You don't need to add oil since peanuts have a natural oil. If you want to keep it vegan, be careful when you buy peanuts. Planters regular salted have gelatin added for some strange reason. The lightly salted are just peanuts and salt though.

    • @EvanEdwards
      @EvanEdwards 4 дні тому

      Good American cheese is worth chasing down, and is available from nicer delis and cheesemongers. You can also make it yourself. It's essentially just sour salt (sodium citrate) and whatever blend of cheeses you'd like, from fancy to pedestrian. One of the nice things about making it at home is that you can compound it with things like roasted garlic or reduced wine, making it sort of like a slice of fondue. Absolutely fantastic on a grilled cheese or burger. An American cheese made from red wine and bleu cheese with mild cheddar is killer on a burger with some caramelized and/or fried onions.
      I know of no "good" cheese that comes in plastic wrapped slices, no matter what kind of cheese it claims to be. On the other hand, I can recognize that it's often a comfort food for many people or it is a simple luxury within their budget. I like classic Campbell's green bean casserole. Not because it is sophisticated, but because it is a personal comfort food. These aren't chefs demonstrating technique or cuisine, they are individuals sharing what they eat. I'd never begrudge somebody finding their joy in any food.
