@@tom10crafted Well for me it went fine, but definitely not in your league! My time was 4:08:12, but started way too defensive to conserve energy .. Improved my time from 10 years ago though by 8 mins, but aiming to improve by 10-15 minutes - fingers crossed - for next year 😁
@@haakonwibe9379 result time is relative thing, dependant on hours spent in the saddle:) Now that is some time stretch in between the events! How did it changed over years?? I assume it got faster in general, but what about amount of participants? And organization? Curious!
@@tom10crafted I think there were a lot more participants in 2014, around 16000 I believe, 2022 was a lot less but has been a little increase this year with over 5000 riders I believe. Didn't notice the difference too much myself apart from in the early downhill sections where it was a bit crowded, since it was over 60 starting groups / pools back in 2014.. The organization is still really good with lots of drink stations and such, even the "surprise" raisins and the malted beer which has energy but isn't everyones taste.. Lastly the track has changed slightly since 2014 when it was 91 km but faster, and 84 km in 2024 with more interesting actual terrain.

Hey Kenneth, thanks! You are right about on-screen graphic overlays - I do it through custom programming solution, where I designed everything and for every race fitting data from Garmin and Strava... Automatically. In general, all done through Adobe After Effects and scripting on my end. And yes, I ride with GoPro and powerbank of 4000mhA or 5000mhA - depending on race duration. As a rule of thumb, if you ride with camera with fully charged battery and a power bank, 4000mhA will be enough for ~4hours, while 5000mhA will last up to 5h. Worth mentioning - recording at 1080p and 29.97 fps with Max Lens too (it drains a bit of battery as I noticed, but totally worth it) !
Haha! It was all fine, I just appeared too far away from the pack - turned out to be that most people from unseeded category came there not to race, but to ride for pleasure :) And by the way - there is more complex MTB event happening there too - Ultra Birken :) birkebeiner.no/en/cycling/ultrabirken-cycle

I think riding with a matching seeding group would give you an even better experience :)
I have no doubts about that - a reason to comeback! :)
Amazing Ride! This is an awesome video and commentary! Rode this year 2024, and super psyched for next year already 🙌
Thanks a lot! how did it went this year for you?

Labai neįprasta žiūrėti tokias varžybas. Veiksmo trūko:).

Nice video! How do you add all this information on the screen? Is there a program doing it automatically? Do you charge your camera while you ride?
