I absolutely love overtone and have used it for years. A few tips: you gotta clarify your hair before use or at least a really good shampoo and air dry or blow to completely dry. You want to make sure you have nothing on your hair like leave or stylers or even conditioners because those smooth down the cuticle and in order to get the color into the cuticle the hair has to be a bit more porous. Second you barely really put any on. If you want to see a difference you have to take smaller sections and slather the product on. I would say you would need double what you used at least or about half of the 8 oz tub. I'm assuming this is your virgin hair color and if so this color would not last long at all. That small conditioner bottle won't really do much if anything at all unless you shampoo and really take out as much water out from your hair as possible. Overtone is a deep conditioner and it's great to use in between salon visits but if you want to dye your hair with it (I do all the time) you have to make sure you apply enough. If you want even saturation you can comb it through although because is so thick it can be harder to do. You can mix it with a deep conditioner to double the product and make the consistency smoother or even add water to the conditioner to make it not as thick. I would recommend this to the amount you would use not necessarily to the entire tub.
I only ever use Overtone and have had hits and misses but as long as your hair is clean and dry before application and is fully saturated during application you should be good.
Also one more tip keep rinsing your hair until the water turns clear. No it won't wash away the color but it will help the bleeding. This can take up to 5 min especially with a color espresso.
    Hope this helped :)
