      @@davidmccain4126 Yeah he does look sharper but I don't think he can beat Tank. Tank is a very disciplined fighter in that ring and extremely patient. Ryan still has to show he can stay disciplined and not get bored as he said. Ryan is still a one trick pony which is not enough to beat Tank. But if we get the rematch, we will see.

      Agree James is a great trainer that don't play now with Spencer last fight I don't think his conditioning was all that he looked stronger for the porter and Garcia fight I think spence was very dehydrated killed himself to make weight his power wasn't there

      It's nearly undefendable given how fast he is. Your best hope is to just step/jump back out of it completely backing yourself up more in the process though only for him to throw it again.

      Hey smart man. He’s not showing the hook, he’s showing the action (hip turn) that makes the hook powerful. So if you look at both of their hips, Ryan is doing the correct thing. The coach is over exaggerating the motion. You UA-cam coaches are hilarious 😂😂

      He's MODIFYING a a natural tendency. A good coach doesn't make a boxer mold himself to he training but he molds himself around the fighter. "We know how you you fight, add this"

    🔥 I see Derrick James is training Ryan to use his left hook as a counter punch instead of leading with it. That should be a helpful adjustment.

      His offense was good against lower quality fighters. Ryan did not have a great offensive night against Tank. Ryan is good but needs improvement all the way around. For ex., look at Ryan coach on the heavy bag showing him (what I call a digging left hook. Meaning it is about 85% hook (horizontal) 15% uppercut). Ryan does not imitate his coach's example smh. But maybe I'm just being too technical 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    They need to teach Ryan head movement, footwork, and how to avoid being trapped. We have so many retired greats he can work with to pick up their tips, and tricks. Why is he working on his left hook..... He needs to jab more, and improve his right hand tops.

      You never know we will only know when we see him in his next match Dec 2nd. I hope Derrick James can improve his fundamentals, as the options Eddie Hearn is looking at setting up will cook him. Teo, winner of Haney vs prograis, or tank rematch.

      @@aalanis8257 I agree with you. I hope his new team fixes his bad habits cause he puts himself in a lot of danger. The top fighters in his bracket are very cerebral, and will pick him apart (135 - 140). I think the only potential issue with his new team is that Derrick has Spence and Charlo coming off losses. Anthony Joshua is added to his stable that is building back up for a contender fight. Ryan might not get the dedication needed to build him from the ground up, and Eddie his promoter might not wait before booking another big fight after Ryan's tune up in Dec.

      True the basics are the most important thing, but you have to add some unorthodox tricks and tactics to your style when you get to the top level because most fighters are prepared for basic stuff and just being basic makes you more predictable. Floyd would always drop his right hand when throwing the leaping left hook but his timing was so good people could rarely counter him.

      If this man improves his defense, including keeping his hands up, he would be a beast. Although some elusive fighters purposely put their hands down, but it is hard to hit them. He makes it easy to get hit.

      @@quan6079 I don't blame Derrick James for that. 1. Errol Spence has stayed at 147 too long and faced an all-time great talent like Bud Crawford. 2. Charlo dared to be great by going up 2 weight classes to fight THE Face of Boxing in Canelo. That wasn't a very winnable fight, no matter who your coach is.
      Neither of these losses is all that embarrassing.

    For anyone: Not sideways for the liver shot, this is not a body hook. Up at about a 35 degree angle, into just barely below the very base of the ribcage. This is one of those punches you aim deep, you have to throw with lethal intent or you risk a nasty right response. But ohhhh boy, if you've been on the receiving end you know how brutal this shot is done right.

    Best thing i noticed here isnt the left hand staying up while throwing the hook. Its the chin being tucked. Thats a major improvement and very hard habbit to break. Good Job Ryan bro.
