Shoulda known this 20 minutes ago i drank way to much gas
Oof. Sorry to hear that 😬
“I drank way too much gas” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol😂
New ethanol gas tastes way worse than the old gas for some reason. Not that it was ever delicious 😆
Mom? Is that you?
Bernoulli's principal at work. Wonderful
You got it 👍🏼👍🏼
Correct term would be venturi effect.
@@Sadik15B yes and what principal allows the venturi effect to happen.
@@nickweddle677 coanda effect???
@@nickweddle677you’re absolutely correct. Bernoulli.
That's awesome but how am I going to get a mouth full of gas doing it that way lol
😂😂 true.
Maybe you can develop blue raspberry flavored gas for people who like to siphon the old way ;)
@@HFG I think they already make it it's like a fuel perfume
@@CCAutoWorks I used to like the smell of gas but I can't stand it anymore. Maybe overexposure or something 🤷🏽♂️ Mortske always has to rebuild starters in everything he has and I have always have to deal fuel tanks and pumps lol just did one last night.
@@HFG I think the ethanol has everything to do with it smell and pumps
Just trying to siphon and people out here teaching Tracheostomys😂
Ha! Right?!? Except you don't need a hole this way :)
I've been siphoning gas for 49 years now and I've gotten use to the taste.
I use this method for more than just fuel. Works well for agricultural chems too 👍🏼
I like mine on the rocks.
@@TonyRuleA lime wedge cuts that chemical taste
@@miketaylor00 lol 😂
You should try some diesel 😂😂😂😂 less filling😂😂
I have had so many mouthfuls of gas in my lifetime trying to syphon from a tank and you just solved that problem at 46 years old. Thank you!!
Happy to help! 👊🏼👊🏼
you ganna have an air compressor with you when you steal gas?
?//
I bet you were not in your workshop with a compressor when you needed to siphon fuel... It's simply not where it happens.
@@RobertELee420😅😅😅😅lol
Nice. Now just need to lug around my 6 gallon air compressor
You can do it!
No you don’t, just put the siphon hose in as far as you can and cover the end with your thumb, pull it out a couple feet then on over the end…. A siphon hose is ALL you need
Really get a can of air
Don't be the truculent kid in class who says, "I don't have any crayons.... I can't think of a verb that rhymes with 'Dolt'."
And that’s why I use the clear hose to siphon gas
If you don't have an air compressor.
Just stick the tube into the fluid.
Cover the hose or tube with your finger.
Sealing it.
Pull the hose with some force.
Release your finger.
Fluid starts FLOWING.
Yes god
If you don’t have an air gun… I used my mityvac fluid extractor to pull the gas up and over then let it drain… 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Doesn’t work

Great hack had to use this after filling up diesel tank with gasoline
I'm glad it helped!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Lol😅😅😅
O no brother, i hate hearing that. When the very few times the wife drives my diesel truck i always tell her, do not worry about getting fuel. If it's going to be a longer trip i make sure it is filled before she leaves.
I did almost try to put diesel into my 87 Ram. I pulled up to the pump, got out and pulled out my wallet. About the time i grabbed the card it hit me what truck i was in.
I had to do the drive of shame over to the gas pumps.
Just the other day I gave a girl a ride and she said she would pay for gas. I pulled up to the pump. she got out. she used her card at the pump. I just looked over and she had the green handled diesel pump in her hand. I jumped out yelling Noooooooooooo.
Thats great if you have a compressor handy in the middle of nowhere . Which is usually were you run out of gas.😅
Air duster for computers/electronics will work as well
I like to carry a tank anyway. Besides, a gas tank isn't likely to be the only siphon you have to start, and there are a lot worse things than gas, yeah?
Or you just use the thumb method. Thumb on end. Jam hose in with thumb not covering hole. Go as far as possible. Thumb over hole. Pull out. Repeat until you feel the gas on your thumb. Drop to can...
@@blade420playElite that's called the jerking off the hose method lol
If you don't have an air compressor.
Just stick the tube into the fluid.
Cover the hose or tube with your finger.
Sealing it.
Pull the hose with some force.
Release your finger.
Fluid starts FLOWING.
Excellent tip, THANKS! (called the VENTURI EFFECT)
Bernoulli
@@psyience3213 Google it!! It is in the definition
@@psyience3213is the principle, Venturi is the effect.
Amen real life hack when you drop something in a tank with a bigger size of this venturi you can suck tools or bolts out like a vacuum
Yes
Too noisy at night when siphoning someone else's tank
😂
You have to only steal gas from deaf people! ;) (Don't steal gas lol)
Done it enough, haven’t gotten gas in my mouth in a couple years now. 😂
Love it
Work smarter, not harder! Thanks for the tip.
👊🏼👊🏼
Great! All I need now is a keg, hose and some compressed air. Thanks mate!
No problem. Now you can start a roadside tire inflation service ;)
Not a hack. Cool tip
I've never understood why people call it a siphon? It's just a straw for your fuel tank. Calling it a siphon doesn't validate your gasoline addiction.
Bernoulli was one smart cookie
Absolutely!!
That my friends is how carburetor works lol
Ahhh Bernoulli's Principle
Yes!! You're one of the few who recognized it 👊🏼👊🏼
@@HFG also called eduction. Just another phrase for Bernoulli's venturi effect
Well that was a gas, thanks.
:)
This is the ACTUAL lifehack lol
👊🏼👊🏼
Venturi effect, like a carburetor.
Air gun produce a vaccum thus air and fluid get sucked into it ?
Yup. You got it. That's exactly how it work. Bernoulli's Principal :) 👍🏼👍🏼
That hat says it all. Dude has been working on cars since he was born.
👊🏼👊🏼
Saw this just after doing my fuel pump and getting two mouthfuls
Oof. Sorry bud.
Be very careful because the gazoline vapour are extremely explosive! A spark and boom!!
Definitely no cordless tools.
The Venturi effect in all its glory! ( if you get moisture in the charging slot of your iPhone 11 and above, you can quickly get it out the same way)
just what i was going to mention, but adding some high performance safety tips shape ports to act as a venturi and and increase air flow above what's consumed from the compressor.
This guy's blow gun looks potentially illegal.
Venturi effect deals with the change of pressure of fluids flowing through a constriction. This is Bernoulli principle. This isn’t creating a construction.
Dude just reinvented the airbrush.
Dropping the physics like Feynman
👊🏼👊🏼
All I need to do is carry a diesel compressor now. 😂
You can use a can of computer duster but it's a lot harder and the tube has to be smaller. Bernoulli's Principal still works, just needs to be scaled 👊🏼👊🏼
@@HFG I know it is how paint spray works, And the old carburetors used to work, Waste extraction from sewing machines etc. Very handy infact.
@@dogwalker666it's how air planes fly too. Lift is the Bernoulli effect.
@@richardchambers256 This is true.
I siphon gas from RVs parked in my neighborhood. Sometimes I get the black tank on accident
Then this is the best method for the black tanks!
Bernoulli approves this message.
YES! I love it when people get it right 👍🏼
Bernoulli strikes again. Just on principle.
😆😆 I'm amazed at how many people don't know about Bernoulli's Principle. Schools really need to focus on physics more these days, imo.
Static electricity and gasoline can be spectacular... especially with extra OXYGEN in the mix.
Potentially. This works on almost any fluid, which is the main point of the video. I've personally never had an issue in 30 years or ever heard of anyone having a problem using this method.
No more mouth full of gas... huzzah!
Usually on the side of the road I don't have an air gun
You need a service truck ;)
@@HFG 🥴
WOW!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
My pleasure!!
Ah....that you mr. Venturi.
right on buddy that is an awesome trick thank you so much for posting that I've actually got a siphon a few gallons of gas out of my truck this afternoon to put in my generator LOL
Glad it helped
I just use a siphon with a little ball check valve on one end. Stick it in the tank to be siphoned, give it a little jiggle, and it starts.
Jiggle siphons.
"Unleaded tastes a little tangy. Supreme is kinda sour, and diesel tastes pretty good." -Ricky"
❤️
Been doing it this way for years now. I’m a Automotive tech of 21 years. I use this method every time I need to drain a fuel tank. Old school mechanic taught me this method when I first started. Never had to cut a hose.
That's awesome. Same here. An older guy taught me this way back in the day at a shop I worked at. 👍🏼
It’s called the Venturi effect and the angle of the airflow is important
Similar but this is not a venturi effect, venturi effect is specifically when the cross section of a pipe is reduced to increase fluid velocity
Wow, thats pretty cool just imagine if there was some way to feed fuel to your motor using this principle.
Like some kind of strange new thing... We can call it a buretor, but for cars, a "carburetor" if you will...🤣🤣
Like some kind of strange new thing... We can call it a buretor, but for cars, a "carburetor" if you will...🤣🤣
Thanks !!!
Damn. That was feckin fast
👊🏼👊🏼
That's how a carburetor works when it wants gas.
“Stop using your mouth?” But then your mom will be disappointed.
That's called the Venturi effect.
Instructions unclear. Used blowtorch. House on fire.
😆😆
You are clearly one of the few people these days who comprehends the venturi effect bravo too many people are ignorant of how things all around them work they walk around in an amazing world of ridiculously complex things with zero idea or appreciation for how it works or the people who keep it running
👊🏼👊🏼
Love the cap. Go Red Wings!
Hell yeah! 👊🏼👊🏼
What a genius. No one knew what the venturi effect was before this.
👍🏼 Totally. It's Bernoulli's Principle, though.
Once you taste E-15 you'll never go back.
Haha. We only have E10 here
It's great that we always had air compressor handy
GREAT VIDEO! YOU HELPED US OUT!
Glad to hear it!
Yea this cool but I'm not trying to alert my neighbors when I'm stealing their gas
I very seldom have compressed air when I'm stealing gas in an alley!!!
😆😆
Been doing this for 40 years. Dad taught me right.
👊🏼👊🏼
Bob Mckenzie!!!! Take off hoser!😂
😆😆
It is an application of the Venturi effect. Well done !
Am I the only one who wondered why Rick Moranis was siphoning gas in a video? 😂
I wish I had Rick Moranis money
Thanks! I’ll never forget that! So simple, but I didn’t think of it! 🤪
👊🏼👊🏼
SO happy my wine bottle is being recycled!
😄
Thank you for this.
I had been thinking of doing it but I wasn't thinking of putting nozzle right at the end. That saved me some time.
Excellent!
Thanks Mister!😊
Low pressure baby
If I only had compressed air at midnight in all those parking lots back in the day😂
I learned that 40 years ago. You can kinda squeeze the siphon hose a little bit to make it work better if needed.
100% !! That's the advanced technique :)
The Trailer Park Boys thank you for this.
I'm happy to share what I know. 👍🏼
A grand idea.20/10
👊🏼👊🏼
Nice, I have to change a fuel filter, perfect timing.
Awesome!
At the school he went to, the principals name was Bernoulli.
You're awesome! So many people think it's Venturi. 👊🏼👊🏼
You mean to tell ME I've been doing this wrong for the last 40 years?? 😊
😆 Nah. This is just a different way 👍🏼
BERNOULLI!
Same principle that makes a plane fly.
On a 45 degree angle
Vaporize gasoline, then just add a spark. You can get a static electricity charge from using air pressure on the hose.
Well, I guess there's always a potential but it's pretty low. Been doing this for 35 years and never had even the slightest issue. Don't do it if you you think it'll be an issue 👍🏼
@@HFG Don't want you to end up like Freddy Kruger.
And you can get struck by lightning walking outside. I'd say your chances of getting struck by lightning is way better.
Vaporized fuel ...... Spark ... Hmmm, what's that word I'm looking for now ? Oh yeah, COMBUSTION 😂😂😂
@@smrtrthnu1571 there isn't any vaporized fuel. It creates low pressure in the tube, which is full of air, and pulls the siphon.
Rick Moranis know physics
I wish I had Rick Moranis money
Other option if it doesn't work is put a rag around the hose going into the tank and blow air into the tank to start the syphon.
Yeah I always wheel around pressurized air lmao
It's so handy :)
This is how a pneumatic paint gun works
Very cool . I'm going to try it . Seems reasonable . I refuse to suck .
Right on. Bernoulli's Principle. Super simple and works great 👍🏼
But that double shot of gas is how we are blooded
I knew that trick from flattening inner tubes
👍🏼👍🏼
Detroit, home of siphoning. Lets Go Redwings
😆😆
Bernoulli turned into Siphon
Yes 👍🏼👍🏼
That's how carburettors work
Thats so cleaver! In hindsight its so obvious but i would have never thought to do it. Thanks!
Awesome, thanks!
What I've done before is jus spin the end of the tube around quickly if it's flexible enough and that creates enough vacuum to start the siphon
Thx G no more premium to start my day
That's Pythagoras principal at work...stay in school kids
Thanks! 1st time I ever heard of that.
Glad I could help!
That works in the shop.
Very cool. I usually just jam a rag in the hole with the air gun and pressurize the tank, it works, but this is more practical.
