Milwaukee's First Electric BRT Route - MCTS Connect 1

- On June 4, 2023, the MCTS unveiled Milwaukee's first electric BRT route, Connect 1. This route runs between downtown Milwaukee and Watertown Plank Park and Ride station. This BRT uses dedicated lanes along Wisconsin Avenue in order to provide faster bus service even if traffic gets busy. The BRT stations have shelter, seating, ticket machines, and raised platforms for faster and easier boarding.
The electric buses for Connect 1 are NovaBus LFSe+ units, though there are some diesel buses operating on the BRT, as not all LFSe+ units were delivered yet. These buses include modern amenities such as phone charging stations, accessible seating and real-time location displays, and offer a quieter and eco-friendlier ride.

I love our bus fleet up here in Milwaukee.
Even though the bus looks pretty new from the outside, it looks like from the 90's when you're inside of it. :) I was born and still living in Switzerland (near Winterthur and Zürich). Our 40 footers have three doors, and the 60 foot artics as well as the 80 foot bi-artics have either four or five doors for a quick passenger exchange. Milwaukee has only one (planned two) BRT line with properly built stops that allow easier wheelchair boarding.
Nearly all bus stops in Switzerland, no matter if in town or out of town, are built in the Milwaukee BRT style, it's a common standard for us, even though our cities are a lot smaller than American cities in general (Milwaukee is about as large as Zürich in terms of population, but still larger in size on the world map, and Zürich is the biggest city of the country although not being the capital which is Bern).
I'm very surprised that there isn't even a single articulated bus in Milwaukee without a properly built out tram or subway system (which is the case in Zürich regarding trams with 15 routes, yet there still are over a dozen major bus routes, two of them exclusively operated by bi-articulated busses with 220 passenger capacity on a 7.5 minute frequency). My gurlfriend who lives in Milwaukee is repeatedly surprised by the sheer frequency and size and easy accessibility of the Winterthur and Zürich bus (and Zürich tram) system when she's visiting me here. :)
why does it beep?
Idk but it's normal for many buses.
To alert Blind people .
Pretty sure that's the pedestrian alert system.
It’s soooo annoying. Imagine being the driver and having to listen to that beeping all day - it would drive me crazy.
Too bad Nova Bus will cease operations here in the states in 2 years.
Indeed, it's very difficult for foreign companies to profit in the US with many laws.
@@Jackyliu009 Does this mean no more Novas for the U.S?
@@wheresnowbandspersist3398no, they just won't be manufactured here
It'll be canadian only
@@Jackyliu009 what a shame I actually kinda liked the novas
