    Love my corso.
She's a rescue, from an extremely abusive background.
So bad that by the time I got her she was blind in her left eye and canine teeth broken out on her left side from being beaten with a bat. Those beatings caused permanent psychological damage to her causing irrational fear and anxiety to this day of simple things..
Afraid to enter a room, of stairs, eating disorders (which we have nearly overcome now thank God).
In the beginning she wouldn't eat (for fear of being beaten) no Matter what we tried. We ended up bringing in her handler from the dog pound where I got her so she would eat. Now, (3yrs later) she still waits until everyone is asleep before eating!
Through consistent love, and proper training she is slowly learning not to be afraid anymore, of normal things..
The noise of opening potato chip bag,
    Climbing into a car, etc.
But, unfortunately she develops new phobias like afraid for no reason of laying in her big expensive memory foam dog bed etc.

Mine will be 4 in May…he stopped testing boundaries, to see who’s in charge around 2 1/2. He has fully accepted his place in the family. SO MUCH CONSISTENT WORK! People see my dog and want a Corso, but I always remind them of how much work goes into the way he’s behaved, Best dog I’ve ever owned…

I have an intact 2 yr old male CC.
Ziggy has always been chill and goofy and gets along with our other dogs and dogs at the dog park and on walks.
We’ve had him since he was 6 months old
He started getting naturally protective at home and the car at about 12-18 months.
He’s never been aggressive towards other dogs besides our neutered older gsd mix who got territorial with him so they got in two fights but are cool with each other now.
For the past month, he’s become aggressive towards males who don’t like him
Usually when a male dog would growl or snap at him, he would back off but now he doesn’t back down and almost got into a fight with a male golden lab who went after him and then he went after a one year old intact male Rottweiler for no reason (literally happened one after the other so we left).
I’m concerned now and am not going to take him to the dog park again until he’s neutered and hope that his aggressiveness will subside
    Is this normal?
    Any advice?

My Dog Tyson is a Cane Corso x Old English bulldog, he is super affectionate and I can absolutely say that his socialisation was of paramount importance to me as we have carers coming into our home every day so I was very hot on Tyson experiencing as many different people in as many different environments as possible. He is now 2 years 5 months and he is super affectionate and super pleased to see and meet people and other animals (apart from cats)
He does this excited wiggle and is always wanting to dole out the kisses.
I can't tell you how much I love this dog and how much love he gives us as a family.

She’s now getting on for 2 and she has really filled out & I love how she and Maximus are so happy together. This is such a lovely breed but training is so important especially as they are so big 🥰

My retriever mix will be 14 in October. On the puppy side, those crazy outbursts brought us a lot of laughs. She had these insane moments where she would exhibit so much personality that we couldn't help but laugh. Now that she's older, that personality is still there but you can tell she's more in tune to us. She really looks at us when we talk to her.

My female cane corso is a year and a half, she is spicy, she can be a handful, always pushing the boundaries, but is easily redirected. What I love about her is how far she has come, she was a rescue we got her at 6 months old and extremely terrified of every single man she met and everything else under the sun including her own shadow. But with lots of work, she is now more confident. she ignores strangers while we are out or the people walking by the house. Mind you, there are a few people she just does not like at all and barks at

My 'Corso Sonya is almost 5 years old now, and just the greatest dog ever. I am retired, and single, so Sonya has always gone everywhere with me. Into any store or business, to the farmers market or a friends bbq party, she easily deals with any situation.
All she wants is to go wherever I go, and to do whatever I do. Eat some of anything that I eat, is a point she'll remind about! 😂
As a pup she was soo easy to train in basic obedience. Praise worked wonders with her, seriously! My hometown also has a really nice dog park, and 3 or 4 days a week we'd go there for the socialization with people and other dogs. Sonya and I both made "friends for life" with some of those folks... Sonya has an incredible memory for people and their dogs; knows them personally by name. Also, she can remember every single place we ever ate together, and always wants to "re-visit" those places. 😅
She can be pushy, and demanding! A long morning walk is a "must" of hers, and she'll whine and cry at me if I'm not getting ready to go fast enough to suit her.
Tons of personality. Very physical and loving. She loves to sit on people's laps, so that you can easily pet her with both hands. One hand isn't enough...😂
She is emotionally sensitive, especially to small children, and kids with disabilities like Autism or Downs syndrome. She is so incredibly gentle and loving with these young ones. And I have no kids, that is just her by nature...
I have outlived 1 Doberman and 2 "Rottie's" in my 67 years. They were all fantastic dogs, but my Sonya is in a class by herself. 'Corso's are more thoughtful, it seems like. She's naturally happy, her tail wagging all the time, and smiling. They are very much their own dog, and super sensitive emotionally.
My Corso is the perfect dog, for me personally. The perfect companion.

Aria has 2,5 months … She’s so cute and loving … definitely is how smart she is … Before I bought it , I knew that cane corso is smart , but I never imagined that she could be that smart … it’s like a belgian shepherd… some commands I taught her , she just learned in 5 minutes and sometimes less than that. The bad side is that she’s very stubborn sometimes and bites my hand a lot … I’m teaching her to not do it , but it’s taking longer than I thought, even though she clearly knows that it’s not cool … but I guess in 2,3 weeks she will be better … I am testing many strategies and I think I might have found the right one. She’s incredible, funny …

Hi Jason-I just love the boys…they are so beautiful and sweet!!!
I have a 7 yr old Great Dane… he had lots of energy as a puppy but he is a lazy baby at 7 and we joke about his sleeping needs…if he doesn’t get HIS required amount of sleep, he is grouchy and will let you know he does not appreciate being woke up… we have a Blue Doberman who is also 7-completely different dog-very high energy since puppyhood-he’s usually the reason Ruger, the Great Dane gets woke up🤪. Jaeger does not act 7 and he has always been extremely protective of me(I’m disabled) even tho he is my daughter’s dog…Ruger plays with me or my daughter for a very short time and when he’s done, he’s done…Jaeger on the other hand never seems to wear out- he is a bundle of energy! There is obviously a huge size difference-Ruger weighs 180lbs and Jaeger is a 90 lbs…Ruger is unbelievably stubborn-he will NOT do a trick for a treat-he will literally walk a few steps and lay down…like it is beneath him to do so-he doesn’t care if he gets the treat or not-he literally looks at u like you’re stupid to even think that he is going to lower himself to do it-his facial expressions are priceless… he will sit and that is it…Jaeger will do anything you ask him for a treat-he will even sit with a treat on his nose until my daughter tells him he can have it… they both have gotten more protective of not only “their people” but also of the property in general.

I would love to have a cane corso but I also know I do not have the attention, time, or ambition to dedicate what would be necessary for the dog to be as happy and fulfilled as possible. Or, for that matter, for the dog to not end up being a menace to society.
Plus I live in a van. If I ever do get a dog, it will be around the size of Bruce Wayne’s head! 😂😂😂
If I was in my 20’s and didn’t have serious medical problems with my back it would be different. But it’s not. So the best thing I can do for a dog is not get one. Dogs deserve our complete love and dedication to them for as long as they live. IF I ever get a dog, it will be because I am ready and willing to make that commitment for their entire life.
I’m envious of you and your gorgeous wife, having such amazing corsos. I know how much you put into their wellbeing and I admire you for that too.

She loves going for walks but doesn’t want to be on the leash. Although I am training her yard boundaries. She’s doing fabulous with that even with people and other animals around.

My Poodle turned 2 in August and about two maybe three weeks after her second birthday it was like a switch flipped in her brain. She went from being kinda shy and hesitant around strangers to confident and more friendly with people. She still doesn’t like being pet by strangers, but she’s more curious and less hesitant to approach if I give her the ok. She also isn’t afraid of dogs anymore, and has shown more interest in wanting to play. I think the change is a combination of genetics, and the hard work I put in to socializing her. I tried my hardest to make sure all interactions with dogs and people were positive, and I respected her shyness by not pushing too much when she showed fear.
She also grew into her own as a service dog when she turned two. It was like all of the training suddenly clicked for her, and instead of her alerts being a meaningless behavior that gets her a reward she understands it’s because of my anxiety. Same with deep pressure therapy. When I’m feeling anxious or upset and ask her to lie on my chest she no longer hesitates to do so, and she doesn’t look for a food reward the whole time. I always reward her once I’m calm, but it’s like she understands she’s doing the behavior to help me instead of doing the behavior to get food. It’s kind of hard to explain, but there’s definitely a difference in how she performs her tasks now than when she was an adolescence.

My 13yo husky mix has been throwing himself on the ground to get my attention for as long as I can remember. He'll lay down while letting out a little breathy growl, roll onto his back and put one foot up into the air. I love and reinforce it by going to him whenever he does it.

My Presa will be 5 this year, not a Corso but very similar dogs. Temperament wise he's very chill and relaxed, I work at a Vet that has lodging & daycare attached which he comes to every once in a while. He's always been a very social and playful dog but lately he's been a bit independent and more reserved while interacting with other dogs. Still sleeps 80% of the day but you know these mastiffs

This isnt a Cane Corso specific question but do you find that when you have 2 dogs that one takes the backseat when it comes to protective behaviour?
I used to have 2 dogs, lab and ridgeback, and my lab definitely took on the protective role while my ridgeback sat back. I feel like my ridgeback almost never barked (which im not complaining about) even if there was someone or something outside while my lab was a lot more territorial when it came to reacting to things outside (his arch nemesis was the raccoon).
I guess im just wondering if this is something you have noticed too or if my case is a breed issue as before my previous 2 dogs i had 1 ridgeback (not the same ridgeback that i had with my lab) and he rarely reacted to things outside either. Either way im not complaining, i don't get dogs for protection, i get them for companionship but seeing your video has had me curious. Also could be why Justice is progressing slower.
