You dropped the ball on yourself. Blaming the TSA is lame.
They always blaming someone else.
Right? TSA doesn't pack your luggage. YOU should have found it.
definitely a stupid mistake, but it wasn’t criminally nefarious. if the standard is 12 years in prison for making a stupid mistake ( with no criminal intent) then 75 percent of america would be locked up

Jeez how many people are there putting ammo in their luggage these days?
Blaming TSA for your own failures to remove ammunition?!
It's a shared responsibility. Her tax dollars (yours & mine) do pay the TSA salaries to locate bullets instead of Johnson & Johnson.
TSA has the responsibility of finding those out before but nowadays everybody is focusing in the woke trash instead while missing what really counts.
@@jaunenito Wrong!!! Quit blaming other people TSA or whoever. It's her fault and the rest need to be in jail for 10 years. There's been people go to jail for years for a bag of coke or weed.

Is she blaming TSA for her carrying something illegally into another country? This woman has no accountability and I hope the court sees that.
Can we say narcissist...😮
Getting locked up for two bullets is ridiculous and extremely harsh but TSA cannot be blamed... Grownups are responsible for checking their own luggage.
I AGREE 100% she's to blame; however, if the TSA can't locate bullets in a bag on a plane I'm flying on, that's a major problem. They are an important piece of the overall safety of flying. She could've been a terrorist, those bullets could've been explosives. No way TSA cannot be blamed as well.
I own firearms and I just dont understand how all of these people with loose ammo in their travel bags keep blaming the TSA!? I dont keep loose ammo anywhere but maybe a drawer in my home. I certainly dont travel with my range bag 🙄
fake excuses
When I was in school another kid got his dads ammo and fired it with a clamp and tools like a hammer and chisel or something. Hence why it should be locked up.
Lotsa undisciplined shooters. My late hubs was a cop and counted his ammo rounds when he unloaded his duty pistol and put gear away. Paranoid but always aware
People lack accountability. I don't feel sorry for her. God bless her children. Their mom irresponsibility caused her own consequences.

@HassempyaHillbillyAZ Nope. It's a deterrent. These people thinks they can go to a small island and break the law. They lucky it's not in the middle east where they would be deleted.
The United Kingdom has very stiff laws on guns and ammunition, Turks and Caicos is no different, it's still a British Territory. She'd have gotten 30 to life in other countries.
I hope all the people condemning her. realize that she made a honest mistake.
I will pray that they all gets home
It’s not illegal to carry bullets in the US but it’s illegal in foreign countries. Do you research.
FYI: Your range bag SHOULD NOT be your CARRY ON BAG. A classic YOU PROBLEM
Exactly
@@dustymcdust825You are the only one I saw even mention that specific bag for that specific purpose.
In fairness, this wasn't her 'range bag". She carries since she is a store manager & needs protection while working in that capacity. But I don't use it as a carry on neither.

I don’t own a gun/ammunition but I can imagine myself putting a house key in a couple of bags in case I ever lock myself out of my home then forgetting the key is in there till months later. Anyways, I’m glad this lady had other Americans there to support her. I hope they all get pardoned and that people stop making this mistake of carrying guns or ammunition overseas.

Why are yall carrying bullets in luggage and not the gun bags. Why are yall not looking through your whole luggage
How you blame TSA for this? Girl check your luggage next time.
The only person responsible for what’s in their luggage is the one who packed it and nobody else! You can’t tell me people traveling these days don’t know what they can and can not carry onto a plane.
Why you using the same bag for traveling that you’re using for a firearm?! First problem right there. Second problem is her lack of accountability and trying to put the blame on TSA. She wild and delulu. 😅😂 I don’t feel bad for these people. You should know the laws of any country you are entering. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
So she basically broke US and T&C laws by having ammo in her carry-on instead of her "checked" luggage.
Sounds like EXCUSES to me. You carry a gun you better know where ALL your bullets are. "Poorly Educated" should not be allowed to have a gun.
Maybe CLEAN your bag once and a while?
@HassempyaHillbillyAZ So many scared/scarey people running around with guns who shouldn't be. half of them with badges
I 100% believe in 2a, but that's for America. We see people coming into America, not following our laws, and most of the time, there's no penalty. I wish laws meant something in America the way laws mean something in T&C.
They make a golf bag, a gym bag, a reusable grocery bag, a laundry bag, a luggage bag & a range bag. They only have 2 things in common. All are bags, all have a different purpose.
Exactly, my range bag is just for trips to the range and nothing else.
years in prison for 2 bullets is an outrage.
"Excuse me ma'am, but I need that Jergens & Body Armor spray! You can keep the bullets."
Carrying ammunitions while traveling? that’s sus and obvi wrong.
Big difference between two bullets and two rounds. Blame TSA? Just .blame your own stupidity. If you're planning to pretend you don't know what's in your suitcase, stay home. .
Turks and Caicos are some pretty small islands. It’d be unfortunate for all of their ports to get blockaded until they drop all the BS charges and release these Americans who clearly had no wrong intentions…
The US needs to issue a serious travel warning ‼️
The world is not the US playground. I've been just about everywhere, and laws are laws. You abide or do time. Sending lawmakers there over the last 2 days only made things worse for those charged.
Who is even traveling around with ammunition anyway?
They putting those rounds in American bags . Its a $ thing. They'll be freed, if they felt they were dangerous the situation would be different.
It shows how our security here sucks, yes our TSA should have caught it.
All I hear these people saying is they don't keep track of where their ammunition is. Or they forgot it was there. Man, when you have a part of something that can cause serious harm you'd better be counting the bullets each night to make sure none go missing. If they are telling the truth about their side of the story then they are incredibly naive to not know where their ammo is at all times.
I triple check my luggage every vacation just to make sure I have everything I need. Why do people put ammunition in their luggage anyway? This is the second case I have heard about people flying with Amno!! Get a gun box to keep your gun and ammunition people!!!
Wow. On another page, the white guy is getting all the sympathy, support, and understanding when the same thing happened to him. People talking about boycotting Turks

And that’s the thing the US always blaming someone else for their mistakes.

Do gun owner's check and / or count their weapon rounds when carrying or storing? Should she have discovered the 2 missing rounds when storing the weapon or when she removed it from the bag?
Spare me, "They dropped the ball"....huh, at what point does she acknowledge the role she played in her predicament...if we learned anything from the Brittany Griner saga, it's check your bags b4 heading to the airport!!

If we had a president had any guts he would tell their present that please let go of my citizens if 3 civilians with ammo are going to be less of a problem then a whole bunch of Marines on your beaches and they'll be carrying more than just ammo
Why do you have lose bullets?
Why do people carry bullets in their baggage? Too lazy to clean out their baggage knowing she had carried bullets in there before. Such an entitled adult child this woman is.
Traveling with bullets IS NOT against TSA regulations Or an empty gun. The bullet and gun can’t be together. Good luck 🍀
TSA is failing everyone if they let these through. It is there job to ensure this never got on any plane. She can't have them do the time, but they need to improve. She wont win a lawsuit, because she can't prove they missed them. She could have gotten them in Turks.
Lady, you snooze, you lose!
@HassempyaHillbillyAZ good for them. . . but if TSA has to find your firearms and ammunition, it is a fail on the part of the person who packed their luggage at home.
@HassempyaHillbillyAZ still, it is NOT TSA’s responsibility to pack your luggage! If they fined people for carrying ammunition or firearms in their luggage, that would help put the responsibility where it belongs.
As a phone technician I carry scissors that are called snips. Thankfully when I was going to jury duty security did not find them.
Too bad.
oh i ibet you feel diff about the yt ppl locked up there....
"I started praying!" LOL!!!🤣🤣🤣
Are these people being framed? That's careless as gun owners.
This happen to me once, Atlanta airport didn’t catch the bullets in my bag but they caught the brass knuckles I had in there and while on the plane ✈heading to Saudi’a Arabia I discovered them in my bag they didn’t catch them neither but to make long story short they are in Ethiopia long a back street road.
So you keep a gun in that bag for protection. . . Do you also keep loose rounds in your pockets to reload? How did you get loose rounds in your bag if it’s just to carry that gun? Bullets in the magazine magazine in the gun. She’s lying.
So typical to blame someone for else for something you did.
12 years is ridiculous
Third story with same stupid excuse.
Actually make sure your bags are completely cleaned out first BEFORE you travel to another country. You yourself dropped the ball
Miss, you drop the ball on yourself!! Take accountability
God has a plan and purpose in this. It is clear! Crystal clear. ❤
Who just has loose bullets lying around…get a grip lady…the fake tears…I cannot😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Guess it really matters where you are because I know someone who went through security and they found a knife in my friend’s carry on which her son accidentally left in there that he purchased on a recent travel and they told her to either bring it back to the car or they will dispose of it and she told them to throw it away. That was it and she went through. It was some sort of flip blade that was maybe 4-5 inches long. Security was very friendly and I would think that they realized this was a complete accident and not planned in anyway. 🤷♀️
Don't hurt yourself.
They're on foreign soil. The approach is entirely different. If a foreigner stepped into America with the same issue they would be detained before they could even take another breath after finding the ammunition.
Carelessness on her part
Sharitta Shinese should have shown some accountability!
OKAY GIVE HER THE GOFUNDME
I’m sure all the people being detained are law abiding citizens of (Your Country) but when someone travels abroad to another country respect the laws in place. You may not like it but it’s there laws and they are a sovereign country and they need that respect as well. If a foreign national were to break the law here in these United States they would be held accountable and ask questions later!!!
And when she cheats she blames the temptation. 🤣
This is like the 3rd story I heard like there were people pass TSA but once leaving Turks they fine “bullets” hummmmm
Why is bullets in a bag for vacation instead of a lock box! Its her fault nobody else's
People please check your luggage before you travel to Turks & Caicos.
Entrapment??
Who is to say the bullets were not slipped into her bagg by someone in Turks prior to her departure through cistoms??
I think the same thing. Ergo, I say, " don't go there"!
I feel like she and the others would be saying things like I don't own that type of gun, or I've never had ammunition in that bag. Which then would make sense considering I don't think people in a different country would know your exact firearm.
Yet all of them are saying they just didn't know it was in there, and in her case, an honest mistake. Which is not entrapment, it's people being irresponsible and thinking laws shouldn't apply to them.
That could be. Except for the part where _they keep admitting to it being their ammo._ It's not entrapment.
You sound stupid. They all admitted it was their ammo. So much ignorance!

GOVERNOR’S RESPONSE TO ABC NEWS INTERVIEW
The Turks and Caicos Islands values its warm relationship with the United States and welcomes over 1 million visitors each year. Our countries have close ties and work in strong partnership to tackle shared threats in the region.
In the spirit of respect for this relationship, the Hon. Premier and I received a US Congressional Delegation to listen to their concerns about five US Nationals charged and on bail for the possession of ammunition offences. US Congressman Guy Reschenthaler’s commentary on ABC news following the meeting is highly regrettable. His characterisation of our meeting is not one we recognise. Our discussions were professional and respectful with a focus on clarifying the legal position and the well-being of the individuals.
A mandatory minimum sentence of 12-years and a fine for possession of firearms and/or ammunition is in place to serve and protect all who reside and visit the Turks and Caicos Islands. The law provides discretion in exceptional circumstances for the judge to impose a reduced custodial sentence less than the 12-years and a fine that is fair and just for each case. To date, no US National has received the mandatory minimum sentence of 12-years.
We do not target US Nationals and any statements to the contrary are without merit. Our independent justice system upholds the rights and freedoms of all individuals, regardless of nationality, whilst maintaining the security and integrity of our Islands. All five US Nationals are on bail with reporting conditions and are receiving US consular support. Three have pled guilty and two will enter their pleas within the next two weeks.
Like the United States, we have a constitutional separation of the executive and judicial branches. There is no remit for the Turks and Caicos Islands Executive nor the UK Government to intervene or comment on ongoing legal cases before the courts.
Law enforcement agencies apply professional standard operating procedures for processing matters through the legal system and will investigate any concerns where it is felt standards were not met. There have been no United Nations sanctions against His Majesty’s Prison Grand Turk. A February 2024 Turks and Caicos Islands Human Rights Commission report was positive with no findings against prisoner conditions.
I appreciate the Congressman is concerned for his constituent, but the situation calls for respectful dialogue that guards against misrepresentation. It is important there is respect for due process and for public servants to perform their duties without fear or compromise. The rule of law is paramount and all are equal before the law.
The Turks and Caicos Islands continues to welcome all visitors to enjoy our Beautiful by Nature Islands. (TCI SUN)
